Designated Prime Minister lost his “by-election”

The by-election in Permatang Pauh is the first test of Najib acceptance as Prime Minister by the people of Malaysia. The verdict is a resounding NO to Najib. Every voters knows that Najib is the designated (to be) PM by Abdullah and supported by UMNO. Najib was on the ground everyday during the campaigning. He hands out money to voters through different platforms and vetted so many BN so called campaign strategies. Yet he failed miserably. It is his vote of no-confidence.

Voters show Najib no respect

The voters of Permatang Pauh show Najib no respect at all. Does it also means the Malaysian voters do not want Najib to be the next PM. His “holier than thou” strategy in the by-election back fire simply because the voters see him for not what he say he is but for what he says he is not! Also something is missing - where is Najib’s wife?

Najib creditability as the future PM is now but gone. Najib direct head on one to one contest with DSAI ends up in Najib’s losing.

Khairy is a poor model of Oxford

Datuk Arif Shah is just a pawn. UMNO says that Permatang Pauh is PKR strong hold, Khairy do not seemed to think so as he wanted to bury DSAI political dream in P.Pauh. Such cocky talk from one so young and whose only qualification was the “son-in-law” of the current Prime Minister. There are many Oxford and Cambridge graduates that we count as friends but non that is so full of himself as Khairy. Khairy is a poor example from Oxford.

Now DSAI has buried Najib political dream in P.Pauh. The by-election has created enough doubt on Najib capabilities and his acceptance as PM.

PAS is the true champion of Islam

The “cook-up” schemes using religious ritual did not work. Meaning PAS leadership in Islamic matters is more respected by the voters than those of UMNO. Najib is so “low” as to use religion to fish for vote. Now, UMNO learn a hard lesson, that PAS is the true champion of Islam and PAS do not use religion to achieve political advantage.

Do not misinterpret by-election result

Say who? Says the flip flop PM. Again it shows his poor judgment and ego-centric view of event happening in the country. Instead of accepting the needs for BN to response quickly to save itself from further destruction the flip flops says BN still has 140 MPs. We all know that. What is more important is BN cannot stop DSAI from achieving his goal despite being the government of the day. He is challenging the PM position of Malaysia.

UMNO is heading towards their own demise if the leadership transition period is maintained. The sooner Abdullah go, the better. UMNO do not need to lengthen this circus clown show.

DSAI first step

This by-election is not about numbers, it is about DSAI ability to beat the BN led on the ground by Najib to stop DSAI intention of becoming the next Prime Minister. This is DSAI first step. How is Abdullah to know that the BN MPs are “totally” loyal to him/BN?

Words and money do not always work

MPs will cross over not for money or to support individual leadership. Each MP has their own dignity and dreams for his people and country. DSAI majority is more than his wife because the voters voted for multi-racialism, they voted for equality, for fairness, for transparency. What is it that the voters reject - everything that BN values most: ketuanan Melayu, cronies, religious intolerance, corruption at all levels and across the board of government institution, poor management of the country’s economy, the marginalization of minority Malaysian and natives of Sabah and Sarawak. Voters voted for change and a new ideal. UMNO is way backward on ideals for Malaysia, they are more focus on Malay.

Conclusion

Najib’s may not be the next Prime Minister. For Dayak, Najib has done nothing to help their community. There is no reason for Dayak leaders not to opt for a new solution. DSAI has been very closed with the Dayak leaders. He understand their various issues and aspiration. Dayak will go for DSAI.

Can Sarawak Governor be a non-Muslim?

Posted by Dr. John Brian Anthony

In the 18 point agreement when Sarawak elected to form Malaysia, it is clearly stated that Islam is not the official state religion. Nevertheless, since Sarawak independence the governor has always must be a Muslim.

Non Muslim Chief Minister and a Muslim Governor

Oral history circulated in Sarawak around the mid 1960’sand early 1970’s stated that if the Chief Minister is a non Muslim then the governor must be a Muslim. NOW, since Tun Rahman, the Chief Minister is a Muslim and the Governor is also a Muslim. What is the justification in Sarawak that the Governor must be a Muslim when Islam is not the State official religion. Read more

Dayak must go for Economic Transformation

Posted by Dr. John Brian Anthony

When the British were in Sarawak, their strategic human resources planning seemed to be “Trading and Business for Chinese”, “Civil Service for Malay” and “agriculture for Dayak”. This fact is stated without the intention of placing blame on the British for what is happening to Dayak today. It is to demonstrate that the same legacy follow Sarawak when it elected to form Malaysia. Thus, Tun Jugah was very mindful that the Dayak must be assisted and thus Article 153 of the Federal constitution was designed to uplift the Dayak progress in business through government quota and allocation system. Most allocation are somehow taken up by politician leaving almost nothing for the ordinary Dayak person.

After 46 years of self rule nothing changed

Merdeka Day is approaching its 46 years in Sarawak, the basic premise of Sarawak population remained, Chinese in Business, Malay in Administration and Dayak sweating in the field. The era of Rahman and currently the white croc’ colony not only did not address this issue but enhanced the perception and make it the most unpalatable reality. Read more
