::SDNU to organise workshop on effect of price increases to Dayaks in rural areas
There are many response to SDNU press statement on its concern for the standard of living of dayak after the recent fuel price hike.
(1) cost of transportation using river system would be costly – affecting those children using river boat to school
(2) diesel for generators – where children study time would be affected due to cut back on use of generators
(3) welfare assistance to widow/widower need to increase immediately to sustain their basic needs (food and medicine).
SDNU has been urged to organise a one day workshop open to all NGOs and individuals to discuss and identify possible problems and steps that could be taken to help those with immediate need. After this workshop, a resolution would be formulated and submitted to gov’t for consideration.
The suggested date is Sunday 29th June, starting at 10am to be held in a hotel venue in Kuching to be announce later.

Never too late to organise. MOst of the Dayaks had been bystander of the economic cakes. Now that MP and DUN yearly allocations had been doubled, Dayak entrepreneur should reap the full benefits where constituencies were held by Dayak Representatives.
With the combined funds allocated to Dayak consituencies (MP=RM1 million and DUN=RM500k per year), every year there would be @ least 5 NEW Dayak millionaires during the 5-year tenor of MPs and DUNs. Tun Daim had done it! What are our leaders doing?
What is this amount RM1 Billion? Is that a lot of money? We deserve more. If we are not part of Malaysia and we manage our own finance we could do 1/2 as well as Brunei or Singapore. Why is that West Malaysia took 95% of our oil money and white croc took the balance 5%? We the Sarawakian should have everything to ourselve.
Just to give you some idea what can result if our State is not part of Malaysia. Singapore left Malaysia in 1965 and now they have estimated US300 Billion in their reserve, that works out to RM974 Billion.
If Sarawak can do just 1/2 as well as Singapore we could have RM487 Billion by now and every Sarawakian would be happy until teeth drop.
