Visit to Kaong long house in Batang Ai

A visit by Minister(s) is always a big occasion in a Dayak longhouse. So a visit by YB Datuk Joseph Entulu, PRS deputy president and YB Datuk Joseph Salang, PRS information chief is no different. As is the tradition, after the guests and VIP visitors are seated the head of the long house would take the microphone and extend friendly greeting and warm welcome to the VIP visitors and those that came with them. Who is the real Dayaks Puppeteer?

Written by gkm2020

Dayak puppets pointing at the wrong direction again!

Generally, almost all the Dayak puppets including their subordinates and grassroots leaders have been pointing at the wrong direction for the last 35 years, either they have denied it and/or strategically overlooked it. Then who is actually the “Master” of the Puppeteer? All these have to be stopped immediately and Dayak leaders (BN & PR) have to redefine their mindset and internal conflicting cultures also referred to as “nyabong manok”. Dayaks must learn from the history of “Rentap”. Read more

Masa Kempen Pilihanraya, BN berjanji…

An observation of BN Strategies in Batang Ai

Written by Dr. John Brian Anthony

Big Issues

BN will avoid big issues at all cost. What are big issues? Land Development, Reforestation, Dams, SCORE, Adat Dayak, Education, participation in Civil Service and promotion, infra-structure development – roads, eradication of hard core poverty, NCR land and title etc.

BN will focus on small issues

BN called it bread and butter issues: compensation money, MRP project values converted into cash for distribution to long houses, cash incentive money to vote for BN (vote buying), provide the long house with food/ drinks and entertainment. Read more

WE thank you Johnny Chuat – PKR

Written by Dr. John Brian Anthony

Thank you Johnny

I am in no capacity to thank Johnny Chuat on behalf of PKR. But Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim thank Johnny Chuat personally after he withdraw from the race to be the DUN member of Batang Ai.

BN – says that with or without Johnny it does not change anything in the election. BN is on record to say that “who is Johnny Chuat? – never even heard of him” etc. I think that is a rather arrogant statement by BN knowing that Johnny is from Lemanak and many of his family members and relatives are voting on the 7th April. Mussen is being haunted by his Father’s past

Written by Dr. John Brian Anthony

Nomination Centre Crowd

I took the opportunity to meet some friends that I saw among several PKR groups of supporters waiting outside the nomination centre. I had some discussion with members of the crowd at the nomination centre and observed that the PKR crowd was quite noisy and full of fighting spirit.

Across the fence and bodies of Federal Reserve Units personnel were Barisan Nasional flag bearers and they seemed to stand around without very clear focus energy on the election. It is easy to guess the reason why – because these are paid flag bearers while the Pakatan Rakyat flag bearers are on voluntary basis. Read more

BN Candidate is from PBB

Written by Dr. John Brian Anthony

Past Result

If we analyse the past result of Lubok Antu election result, we can clearly see that BN winning is from areas closed to Lubok Antu town, the semi urban areas. I visited a few long houses and slept in one of the long house.

Contrary to an earlier posting, when we reached Sebangki Panjai were given a warm and friendly  welcome complete with “langkau”. They however confirmed of an incident when one drunk man from their long house chased away a group of visitors. It was not politically motivated. It was an act of one man who consumed more liquor drink than he could managed. Read more

Real Picture in Batang Ai N29

Judge it for yourself. Pictures taken during the domination day on 29 March 2009 in Lubok Antu mini stadium.

Quote from Jetty “About 10,000 people were present to send their respective candidates to the nomination centre. While the Parti Keadilan Sarawak’s supporters were from local people, the BN’s supporters came from civil servants, council staff and etc.”

Bring the words Change to N29 Batang Ai & Sarawak! Part II

Written by gkm2020

What are capacities for transformation?

Transformation does not just occur. It is different from more or less of the same. It is always messy and halting. It cannot be evaluated with the same methods of accountability used in strategic planning models. It cannot be predicted nor controlled. So what is transformation and how can it occur.

Transformation is the type of change that restructures the very nature of what has existed before. Transformational change reflects a change in the very essence of the institution, concept, method or technique. In education and learning, the impact of the Internet has allowed the introduction of multiple learning approaches beyond the traditional concept of change reflected in just reducing class. Batang Ai: It is a straight fight between PR vs BN(PRS)

Written by Admin

PR vs BN(PRS)

After the must awaited nomination day, it is now clear that the battle in N29 – Batang Ai seat will be a straight fight between PR vs BN(PRS).

Independent Candidate?

No independent candidate send nomination form until ‘tempoh bantahan’ is over.

What’s Next?

The race is now begins…PR team will give their steadfast campaign against BN. BN maybe looks mightier on the paper because of government mainstream media, but they cannot undermine PR’s ability, else, Batang Ai will be another Ngemah in the making. PR knows how to deal with BN.

Laja Sangin – should be investigated for going against general order

Laja Sangin – Stop Campaigning (for BN) and Do Your RTM Work

By Batang Ai Stringer

laja

Civil servant should not be involved in politics – reference General Order

According to a very reliable source, civil servants are also ‘busy’ going around campaigning for BN. One of them is Laja Sangin ( broadcaster attached to RTM,Iban Section) who is now on the ground actively campaigning for Mussen -BN candidate for Btg Ai.

Laja – he can afford to play golf

Laja, also known to be an avid golfer (heaven knows what else he’s good at and hopefully he doesn’t spend too much time on the golf course ) happens to be a very close friend of Mussen. Both are, in fact, almost inseparable. Laja is kind of ’special’ advisor to Mussen. Hopefully, Laja gives the right advice to Mussen- otherwise poor Mussen ( being a political novice) will be unnecessarily carried away by Laja’s ’sweet ‘ and convincing talk. But of all people – Laja? Oh, my goodness.(Pity you Mussen , but just be careful of this character (Laja)) Read more

Report From Batang Ai

Source Jetty -Broken Shield

1. Entulu calls on Bawin to join PRS
Deputy president of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Joseph Entulu Belaun yesterday called on Nicholas Bawin, Director of Operations of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) for the Batang Ai by-election to join PRS. “I believe that Bawin is only wasting his time by associating himself with PKR, so it will be good if he can use his potential and join PRS to develop Batang Ai,” said Entulu who is also deputy minister of rural and regional development.

Isn’t this irony? Only now that Entulu knows Bawin has the potential to help develop Batang Ai, when he is with PKR. Such a gesture should have been offered to Bawin when he was jobless and partyless (he was a SNAP man and later joined SPDP) after he was asked to resign on 28 February 2004 as deputy president of Majlis Adat istiadat Sarawak.
