    MONEY DONATION???

Although I’m apolitical BUT willing to boot out the current gomen via my “insignificant” vote, but – yes, BUT – whenever it comes for donation to any political party, sorry, I’m very reluctant to do it.

WHY??? There are few political leaders in Malaysia who have abused their positions and powers by “grabbing” the donated money given by the public!

The recent case involved Sami Bulu or Semi Value or something, which has tarnished the image of MIC! How do we expect to respect such an irresponsible leader???

Well, we would be able to donate some of the money to some recognizable, welfare organizations that are in dire strait for public aids, but NOT to political parties like PKR!

    Sorry & Thank you, sir!

    Hei Kaban Semoa!

PKR always say Barisan Nasional is practising money politic to fish votes dan now pop-up PKR election fund. Is this money politic too?
Are you not digging your own graves yard. Come on Brother, BN is strong , please don’t play-play esp. you civil servants. Any one found giving financial support to opposition must be prepared to face the music. My big brothers in the state secretariat told me that a monitoring team has been formed to deal with diobeydience civil sevants.

RM2000 Per Voter Cost For Batang Ai DUN
    Small Change For BN

    Direct Vote-Buying Cost:
    1. Batang Ai total voters around 8,000 so the money politics by BN would only need to spend arounf RM4-5 million (RM1000 per vote) to get simple majority of 4000-5000 votes. 99 percent of Dayak voters will accept that RM1000, rare instant cash scheme. So 50 percent winning chances already in hand.

    Indirect Vote-Buying Cost:
To take the other 50 percent winning chances,
    1. Helicopter charge per day around RM50K so for one week campaign is around RM400K plus extra hours. (Est.Total RM400K)
    2. Diesels for 4WDs is RM100 per day so total JKR, Salcra,CMS Road, PPES Works, Councils, Education, Penerangan SUVs/pickups required around 75 4WDs giving out RM50K-60K worth of diesels. 4WD drivers would demand around RM50-RM100 per day overtime charge so that’s add another RM100K. (Est.Total RM150K)
    3. Longboats would require RM200 per day charge so BN need to sapu around 30 boats plus RM500 per boat to be booked regardless of usage or not so total is RM25K-30K cost. (Est. Total RM30K)
    4. Kampong concerts also a must with band boy and Dayak singers must be booked in advance. Decent band boy would demand RM1000 per night while Dayak singer would charge at RM500 minimum per night, which put it at around RM2K total cost for night. Around 2 or 3 shows per night at different locations by various Dayak bands/singers would cost RM15K-20K for one-week campaign period. If include Dayak copycat Elvis special cameo that would add another RM5K. (Est.Total RM30K)
    5. Now foods and drinks. Take a typical 250kg pig would cost anywhere RM450-500. Some chicken wings, drumsticks of 100kg at RM8/kg would add around RM800. Charcoals for BBQ is RM5/kg so for 3 bags of 25kg is RM375. Custom-smuggled Chivas/Martell/JohnyWalker 1Litre is around RM80 per bottle so take it as RM960 per carton of dozen/12 bottles. Custom-smuggled Tiger beer at RM65 per crate so take 100 crates for total RM650. Softdrinks like ‘aik menet botol’ would cost RM45 per wooden crate and just take 10 crates for the kids plus some cheap Cola Bingo at RM20 per box for the folks to mix with the liqours at 10 boxes so total is around RM650. Ice cubes at RM5 per bag so take 10 bags for ice cool beers, RM50. That’s around RM4200 cost for all foods and drinks already for one longhouse gawai per night. Reserve for minimum 30 longhouse or kampongs. (Est.Total RM126K. RM200K just in case or RM500K for a grand gawai feasts)
    6. Mineral water with logo printout. 500ML at RM1.50/pc (Per box dozen RM18), 1.5L at RM3/pc (Per box half dozen RM18). Minimum order: 1000 boxes 500ML, 500 boxes of 1.5L (Est.Total RM27K)
    6. T-shirts with party logo front, back at RM20/shirt (5000 pcs at RM100K). Collar Tshirt at RM60/shirt (3000 pcs at RM180K). Rossete/button at RM10/pc (2000 pcs at RM20K). Caps at RM15/pc (5000 pcs at RM75K). Basic apparels cost Est. Total RM375K.
    7. Banners with standard size of 3ft width X 12ft length plus inkjet print single color would cost RM200/pc or multi-colour at RM500/pc. Minimum order of 500 banners: 300 single-colour and 200 multi-colour. Above 500 pcs got 15percent discount. Each 1000 extra add 10 percent discount. (Est.Total RM160K)
    8. Propaganda Leaflets/phamplets. A4 single-colour RM0.50/pc, multi-colour RM2.00/pc. Transparent inserts(to put the leaflet inside, prevent wet) A4 size RM1.00/pc. 500m run of leaflets to form hanging banners would cost RM2300 per run. Add labour charge for installation and dismantle RM300 per run. Total cost RM2600 per run or RM5200 per KM run. Minimum 50KM run. (Est. Total RM260K)
    9. ‘Private security firm’ would be engaged. Some are local bouncers while the chiefs from Kuching Heng Hua gang leader(SUPP goons) would take part as observer cum enforcer. They will monitor the banners, the kampong concerts, the diesel supplies plus the ‘gambling rights’ such as cockfighting and ‘holo’ at longhouses or near kampong concerts valid for campaign period. The gambling rights, supply of beers/liquors money are all for their takings as part payment for their professional fees plus RM50K upfront deposit for initial running cost. Their long-term lucrative rights for jalan tikus along Lubok Antu porous borders to smuggle stolen Kuching cars to Kalimantan will remain intact from police enforcement and extended as well. Win-win business operative.

Overall typical, conservative cost around RM6.5 – 7.5 million or put it as cool RM8 million and that’s a minimum cost only. A Dayak crony contractor for some big Lubok Antu project can easily sponsor that amount, not to mention the Chinese sponsors under SUPP brotherhood(mostly from super-rich Simanggang former communists businesmen) that ever willing to chip in another few millions for another total of RM10million cost. Expect BN to annouce more Batang Ai silly projects such MRP grants, Projek Kilat, as big bomba station, GOF complex plus quarters, schools, tar roads even to the deepest kebuns (like in Asajaya), libraries (with outdated Newsweek), LCDA/SEDC rural shophouses (always empty like in Lundu) which add the possible project cost at RM100-150 million only to be reserved/pre-arranged for BN ali baba contractors actually. Also expect the same indirect vote-buying cost for BN-planted independents Calon Bebas which is still a small peanut for BN to sponsor.

To secure 5000-odd votes, per voter cost is RM1,600-RM2000 or RM8-10 million total cost on minimum conservative average. Small change for BN to operate this fake democracy. Such a cheap price to rob the Dayak souls. One DUN seat would never been so precious than this Batang Ai in time for change.

Cannot beat BN lah brother , Why waste time?

  9. Tiyung Dayak on March 5th, 2009 5:03 pm

I had a conversation with Mr. Dominique just now to find out about the “proposal”. It seems fine to me. I asked him not to reveal the “real identities” of the donors (who are bloggers) to the public (for security reason).

Anyway, we – the donors – do have the rights and would like to know the amount collected prior to nomination day or the day after that – even if the money collected is only amounting up to, let say RM15.00 (Ringgit Malaysia Fifteen only). Yes, this is public accountability – sort of! It doesn’t matter – should it be another “laughing stock” to the world… Remember David vs. Goliath? Heh…

Yes, Dr. John, I’m glad that I’ve done my part!

Bala kaban – let’s “Walk the talk” in this “Kempen Bersama Mu”! Just donate as low as RM5.00 per blogger only…

That is the problem with Dayak Mentality, when come to donation.. so many excuses even only RM5. Come on guys, even if they(PKR) misused or this is a conman job, there is GOD to punished them. I’m not rich man but even if they ask for RM100 I will not hesitate to donate, i just fed-up of all the current BN YB, especially DAYAK’s YB, couldn’t help their own people.

Is it up to you if you want to give or not. You have the right to say so.

    I will donate RM5.00 soon…

For BN, I am willing to help them, but they never keep their promise to society.. so what for I help them.

BN promise but no delivery (45 years already – we should get more)

PR promise than I will give them chance…

    Bibaru, Superkepayang,

Good on you, we should have more people like both of you to help us at Batang Ai.

I will also donate RM20.00 tomorrow.

BN promise but for their own pocket.

  15. bibaru on March 5th, 2009 6:54 pm

Hi all, why so hesitate to donate… I’m very sure you all can get back the amt during the campaign period later on. Guarantee, provided you said that you will vote for BN. Well, just take the money and vote for PR, as simple as that. I just donate RM100 even though i’ll not be able to collect back (not from Batang Ai).

  16. Akiq Hawong on March 5th, 2009 8:03 pm

    Hai Batang Ai,

The Akiq Hawong you refered is not me. It’s someone disguising as me. Let Dr JBA clarify here if he doesn’t mind.

  17. Uchu Keling on March 5th, 2009 10:11 pm

    Hello bala kaban,

It is very say to see that so many people are questioning who is right or who is wrong about the donation; or just berjako-jako aja.
In the bottom of my heart, I like to cry and felt very say how we dayaks have been exploited in many ways by today administrations.Days are gone when my grandfather used to tell me how great they are during his time. People ‘Chicken Chick’ when they saw or heard how brave and great warrior they are, even now many people still felt their present is a threat.

But for now what are we, among the poorer people in malaysia or even ‘Sutpid’ in their mentality, Jauh ari semua pengawa….That’s reality. Sad to say.

Bala Kaban, Whatever it is good for our people, we must show our support.
When our people needs our help, this is the time we show our full support. It is all because for our future generations. Don’t let our leaders do what they like for our people.Today we all still can see ‘Tanah Pusaka kita’. I doubtful our future will be able.
We all must wake up…and UNITE by all means

Ingat meh ba pegering bala aki kita suba
    ‘AGI IDUP AGI NGELABAN’

    Will be done tommorrow.

To tell to all people the truth it is very hard for PKR to win this election in N29. Why???

Please refer to Perak case. Thank you. You have all answers there. BN, if they want to rule they have to play dirty.

Anyway, good luck to all my dayak friends. All the best.

  20. Akiq Hawong on March 6th, 2009 7:11 am

    Hai Batang Ai,
I refer to the opinion of the one I have claimed Fake Akiq Hawong. In fact all the people of Sarawak have been contributing money indirectly to the election campaign of BN. You and I are taxed. Everything we buy from the shops has gone through stringent taxation process unless smuggling is widespread. The beggar is also contributing to the election fund. The generous man who gives/donates to the beggars also buys taxed items from the shop and gives to beggar. It would not be fair for the BN who is the current government to ask for donation. For the opposition, they do not have direct access to the fun. If they were given, the amount maybe just like ‘mukut ba tisi gantang’ and just like one is for the sake of giving only to show how generous one is. Whichever, whatever party that rules the State, it is our rightful or legal government. Without considering Kelate that is many terms rule by opposition, we have the people in Penang, Selangor, Kedah who are currently and gradually ruled for several terms by the government that were once opposition to the present Federal Government. Anybody who rules the state or country is our government. So, it does not matter who they are, provided that they gain support of the majority. If I were to fight hard for another party, that means I have seen the prawn behind the ‘Batu Gerugu’ that is going to be my bright victim for my lunch of the day.

The key word is Voluntary. With the available cash deposit machine ie Maybank CDM you do it anytime anywhere if you prefer cash deposit method other than online transfer or cheques, for privacy reasons. Shouldn’t be an issue at all.

If you feel ‘ashamed’ to donate to PKR then it ought to be so ‘proud’ for you to donate to BN.
This is another proof of Sakai Mentality by BN goons to resist ‘Change’ (using so many different nicks here).

Either you with the Dayak or, you with Yang Dikasihi. Pick one only.

  27. Alex Sayok on March 6th, 2009 1:08 pm

    The incidence of (Dayak) poverty

Sarawak has an enviable record in poverty reduction. A poverty incidence of nearly 60% of households in 1976 had been reduced to 8% by 2004. From a condition much worse than the country average,Sarawak is now only a couple of percentage points above it (Table 1).

Table 1: Poverty in states with the highest rates, Malaysia 2004
    State Poverty rate (%)
    Sabah 23
    Terengganu 15
    Kelantan 11
    Sarawak 8
    Kedah 7
    Malaysia 5.7

However, despite this achievement, Sarawak remains in the bottom half of a ranking of states by incidence of poverty, having slipped behind two more states (Kedah and Perlis) since 2002. In Sarawak, poverty is largely a rural phenomenon. In 2004, the rural poor accounted for 90% of the state’s poor households and for 98% of hardcore poor households. Most of this rural poverty is associated with families working in agriculture. In that same year, these households accounted for two-thirds of all poor households in the state, and for 70% of the hardcore poor households.

The occurrence of poverty also varies significantly by ethnic group (Table 2). With an incidence of around 17%, Bidayuhs and Other Bumiputera account for nearly 32% of poor households although they comprise only 15% of the total. Ibans, Malays and Melanaus, each with an estimated incidence of around 9%, account for nearly 62% of the poor households but comprise just 56% of all households. Chinese comprise the largest number of households but have the lowest incidence of household poverty. Ibans and Bidayuhs accounted for the large majority of hardcore poor. Whilst the poor are overwhelmingly rural, they also tend to be predominantly smallscale agriculture-dependent communities that are generally the least educated, and commonly average a family size above the national norm. In addition to financial hardship, the poor face many challenges including securing land rights and other basic rights to development. Many of these indigenous communities have low levels of human capital, lack ready access to basic amenities and facilities, and because the physical infrastructure is underdeveloped in the areas where they live, they remain poorly connected to markets. They seem to be locked into an unrelenting intergenerational cycle of poverty, and require outside assistance to break free (Leete, 2007).

Table 2. Sarawak poverty rates by ethnic group, 2004
Ethnic group Incidence of Share of state’s Share of poor
    poverty (%) households (%) households (%)
    Other Bumiputera 17.2 4.5 9.7
    Bidayuhs 16.6 10.6 21.9
    Malays 9.0 21.1 23.7
    Ibans 8.9 28.0 31.1
    Melanaus 8.3 6.7 6.9
    Chinese 1.9 28.4 6.7

The is the good chance for us to move ahead and to ensure that opposition party and democracy will survive at Sarawak.

I would like to congutulate Dr.John and his team for their intiative. Will a lot of comments and feedback been arise with regard to money donation.Saya harap Dr.John and team boleh ambil action atas beberapa perkara yang kita kira valid juga lah.Kebanyakan berpendapat, they don’t mind to contribute, but they want to ensure that their money will go to the right channel atau lebih kurang tak kena tipu lah…..itu bukan lah alasan utk tidak menyumbang tapi hak mereka utk mengeluarkan pendapat masing-masing.

Dari pengamatan saya, kita do have a lot of supporter but we don’t have enough reformist.Agi maioh bala ka enggau nyokong party tang mesti nanya ke duit.Yes,kekadang kitai sama nemu ga enti nadai budget bakani sida ulih enggau kitai kempen, lebih agi sida nadai tentu penatai pemisi.

NI KITA BALA KABAN NGARAP KE KITA SEMUA ULIH NULONG BALA KITAI BATANG AI.ENTI ENDA ULIH NULONG ENGGAU MATA DUIT,ENGGAU TULANG TAU ENDA ULIH MEGA ,SAMA-SAMA MEH KITAI BERSAMPI NGAMBI KE PKR TAU MENANG,NGAMBI KITAI ULIH NGATUR MENOA SARAWAK TU ENGGAU MANAH KE AGI…KITAI SAMA NEMU.

  41. Ahmad on March 8th, 2009 12:35 pm

Tahniah atas usaha mewujudkan tabung ini. Saya sokong. Dalam Keadilan, jangan terlalu sensitif tentang kaum. BAHAYA. Itulah yang BN harap agar Keadilan dan PR pecah.

  42. Ahmad on March 8th, 2009 1:02 pm

Dr. Bean – the error is mine to state that Piee bin Ling is PKR Sec Gen. I stand corrected – as Dr. Bean has confirmed that Piee is holding PKR Executive Sec salaried post.
    ____________________________________________
Pembetulan- Piee Ling bukan Executive Sec, dia masih State PKR Sec sehingga DSAI membuat perlantikan AJK yang baru. YB Adit tersilap dalam perkara ini. Pls confirm with YB Dom or Dato Sallehuddin (PKR Sec Gen)

  45. Malaysian on March 9th, 2009 10:28 pm

  49. Unak Semambu on March 10th, 2009 5:27 pm

I wish that the number of donors and the amount of money collected are not to be disclosed prior to or on voting day.

    advantages:
It will always keep the BN leaders, campaigners and supporters not sleeping well through the campaigning period and surely they get haunted by thousands of guesses/ thoughts…anxiously wanted to know how effective is the donation drive; how many donors and how much money is collected by the dayakbaru bloggers or supporters who are normally educated and employed.

During the campaign whatever PKR expenditures are everybody’s guess, it could be from the donation drive, individuals or from the party?

The longhouse folks have high spirit to vote for PKR knowing that their children, relatives and family members had sacrifice their income (amount does not matter) to make changes to happen.

If for some reason the numbers and amount are below expectation, that’s only be known after the vote counting….therefore it does not bring any negative impact/ effect to PKR candidate.

  50. Futurist on March 10th, 2009 6:20 pm

For strategy sake, please don’t reveal the amount prior to the voting day. After all, the amount of debit and credit still can be audited post-election.

Account owner should be extra careful as well so that the officer working with the mentioned bank not in cohort with any unauthorized parties who not suppose to know the balance.

  51. Orng melayu on March 11th, 2009 9:04 pm

Im sure to donate for Sarawak change. dont worry brother we muslim frend support all d dayak move. congatulation n good luck.

  52. JKJ on March 12th, 2009 12:49 pm

    Dear my friend,
Jangan sebut saja “Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban” tapi buktikan. Donate tetap donate, jangan lepaskan peluang ini untuk ubah negeri kita.

Org menua bukai ngenak kereta sampai 10 tahun, kitai ba menua diri empu ngana kereta 2 tahun udahnya anjung worksyop laban mayuh utai jai.

    Apa sebab?

    Bantu PKR, bantu kita sendiri.

  53. Empaling Demo on March 15th, 2009 8:34 pm

To ALL PKR supporters the world over, please help the party by donating any ammount towards this fund. Every little help we can give is a bonus to the party.
If we have a defeatist attitude, we will end up nowhere.
So lets fight this evil BN government together and esp to those of us who are not a voter in Batang Ai, or unable to vote for one reason or the other, this is one way we can help.
Anang kitai meda BN maioh duit lalu ngako alah, remember the David Vs Goliath?
I’ll do my part and lets hope many more will follow.

  54. Papong Engkilu on March 17th, 2009 3:58 am

Still hesitant to date RM5.00 for a change?

  61. JJM Junior on March 26th, 2009 5:03 pm

    Penemu Apai Saloi.

Duit derma ngagai akaun orang bukai. Legi madah enggai betuai ke bansa orang.

Your first step is wrong 2×5.

Dominique Ng…is your 2nd James Wong if PKR wrest power from BN. Pindah baru kitai Iban, pecah baru…the story never end…wonder….wonder why.

My conclusion: Orang ke join PKR are desperate people, baka anak tiri, nadai apai indai endur sebilik, ngasur ke pala aja sapa ke ka nerima.

  62. Dayak Tasik on March 27th, 2009 1:14 pm

    JJM Junior,

You are absolutely wrong!! saying PKR are desperate people..they are the people who are not blind cos they hv eyes..they are not deaf cos they hv ears..they hv feeling cos they hv heart..
They are not the slaves..that kiss that ass of that Buban..at least PKR people hv their integrity.

  63. Engkala Midar on March 29th, 2009 4:01 pm

    Dear Dr. John,

Is there any time limit for the donation? As we are on abroad you may receive the donation maybe 3 to 4 day for bank clearance.

    Please advice…..
