Interviewer: Do you know who is standing in this by-election?
Nanang: People talked everywhere, I heard Mussen is BN and my MP Jawah Gerang is contesting under PKR and Johnny Chuat will represent the Lamanak will fight in Batang Ai. Nothing new to me, every election, VIPs will come, talk to us, make promises and then, go away. The next time I see the VIPs, is when there is election. No election, I don’t see them.
When they come they talk about many things – unity, development, projects but still I do not see changes on the ground. It is really time wasting to prepare for this VIP visit. What do we get out of it, nothing I tell you. This people really talk about everything but to us there is nothing. Wasting time.
Interviewer: Do you know Jawah Gerang?
MP Jawah Gerang, I do see him once in a while. It is easy for me to talk to him. He dropped by in Lubok Antu and talk about palm oil garden, shared a cup of coffee then we go our own way. He has been around for so long.I know he tried his best to help but you know the government is so big and I cannot guess when our turn will come from receiving our land title and electricity.
We need hospital badly now.
I have heard of Mussen – a distant relative my father says. He always works somewhere so I never really got to know him. I hear good thing about him but I never know that he is interested in politics or acted like one.
Interviewer: How about Johnny Chuat, do you know him?
Nanang: I heard he is from Lamanak. A fine young man I heard and very helpful. But I do not think that he can win this election but it is good he has shown interest to become candidate. BN or PKR should consider him as their candidate in the next State election. This fight is between BN and PKR.
JASA concert
Interviewer:
I heard there was a concert organized by JASA last night. Did you attend?
Nanang: My friend asked me whether I attended the concert. Of course I didn’t. Problem for me – the road to my longhouse is bad. Very difficult driving at night – the road is really bad.
Also this concert is a silly thing – when there is Election, we get to see concert.
Election, we get free money. Election, we get Ministers and his government office people talking to us, promise us to solve our problems. No election, no concert. No election, we don’t get free money. No election, I don’t see the Minister and his people in Batang Ai. I don’t know about concert last night because I didn’t go. No point to go. It doesn’t solve my problems.
Interviewer: Who are you going to vote?
Nanang: I know but I cannot tell you because people have “long ear”. You know if they know who you vote, they will not give you project. My Tuai Rumah always said that we must support the government but if you do not want to vote BN you must not tell anybody. I am not telling you.

Interviewer: Do you know whether your Tuai Rumah is around?
Nanang: He is very busy. One day he says he has been called by the D.O. Then a few days back, BN called him. Now he is accompanying Jabu and Masing to clear the river project. It is good they clean the river as the road is not good but they must clear the river regularly not like when another election is coming around.
But government is always like that. No election, they do nothing. Election come, they are every where and very busy. You just watch – after this election you don’t expect to see their face in the next 2 years. For us, life don’t change and who cares. Everything is expensive now. We work in the garden and find enough money to send the children to school that’s all.

The battle of Waterloo of Batang Ai
This riddle of wind for CHANGE is within the sight of the Dayak with their fighting cock named Mr Jawa Gerang, is the P*K*R official candidate for the Batang Ai by election. The much speculated Nic Bawin, though aligned with P*K*R much earlier is sidelined, hope to cast his luck during the next general state ADUN election.
Meanwhile B*N is strategizing their chess game, playing the king instead the horse. The five term MP politician Jawa is known for his bold and merciless comments even to his BN comrade during his tenure as BN parliamentarian. I guessed the fight is 50:50, unless stealth political tool is employed to out do each other.

KUCHING 23 Mac(utusan Malaysia) – Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) hari ini mengumumkan bekas Ahli Parlimen Lubok Antu, Jawah Gerang akan mewakili parti itu pada Pilihan Raya Kecil Dewan Undangan Negeri Batang Air pada 7 April ini.
Penasihat PKR, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim berkata, keputusan itu dicapai setelah berbincang dengan semua pihak termasuk juga Ketua PKR Lubok Antu, Nicholas Bawin dan pandangan parti dalam pakatan pembangkang seperti DAP dan Parti Nasional Sarawak (SNAP).
Menurutnya, PKR yakin dengan keupayaan dan ketegasan Gerang untuk mengungkap semua masalah bukan sahaja masyarakat Dayak tetapi Melayu, Melanau dan Cina.
‘‘Saya juga mengumumkan Bawin sebagai Pengarah Operasi pilihan raya Batang Air memandangkan saya terhutang budi dan bangga dengan sikapnya yang selama ini telah mengutamakan perjuangan parti.

Why you guys complained so much when Jawah (your candidate for PKR in the by-election) also did the same thing when he campaigned for himself- BN-MP Lubok Antu?
Does it not portray your Apai Sali mentality? When the BN delivered the goodies to the rakyat you said that is wrong. when the government could be right then?
When government make road you said that is fishing for votes and when can be the right time then, couldnt the road and other amenities be implemented throughout a huge area of sarawak within a fortnight?
Rather than bullsh*ting your capabilities to write in this blog here, let’s do something practicable possible to & for our people.

Every election the same manifesto create by BN. Bn are not protect the Bumi in Sarawak not like in west Malaysia. Kasihan. Ahli politik dari BN ingat bukan lagi wakil rakyat kita tapi..wakil kepada mereka sendiri..untuk perut mereka dan keluarga mereka. If you are the supporter of PKR, you should pity on yourself for being betrayed by DSAI & Dayakbaru. You know why, because Jawah was BN-MP for Lubok Antu for 5 terms (except one), blame him if no improvement on road over that period and yet DSAI wanted to tell LA people that he (Jawah) can do that if elected as PKR ADUN. Couldnt dayakbaru not seeing the logic there?
Bila JJM buat kerja marah, tak nampak buat kerja (walaupun memang kerja tiap hari) pun marah….itu lah pemikiran Apai Saloi, is that right, brother?
Nama pengawa Jawah maia 25 taun nyadi MP? Jaguh kampung aja, cakap besar tapi bila sidang parliament dia kecut, penakut, tak dapat bersuara. Datuk Tiong also BN-MP but he dares to criticize the govt when it’s right time to do so.
Road is under Federal govt budget. Of course JJM can request for better road in sarawak, again our MP like Alexander Nanta should bring it up in the parliament.
Why only blamed JJM. Moggie was the federal minister and JKR is under his ministry, why not barking at him that time? And what happen to Gramong, Ambrose Belikau, and Gabriel Adit himself ADUN in that area. What is G. Adit doing, busy lobby for seat, polishing DSAI balls.
Daniel Tajem, was DCM and minister for land development for quite sometime, what have he done to the Dayak? Now he aligned himself to PKR.
Jimmy Donald another rotten fish head, what is his contribution to dayak while elected as MP?
Actually these rotten fish heads are the desperado bunk of people, wanted to return to power as ADUN, MP and be minister. Why we need them, like Jawah, when they failed our community?
Think before you open your mouth and be careful when you point finger at JJM. JJM was a fighter for dayak rights and now he’s still doing that to help the poor dayaks. And dont let him spend more time listening to your accusation but rather give him support to bring development to the dayak community.

One of the reasons was kerana former DCM Datuk Daniel Tajem merajuk dalam satu perhimpunan, instead of mentioning his name, Datuk Taib was making reference to his (Tajem) deputy minister Adnan Satem to carry out some task.
Are we pretty sure that these rotten fish heads NOT merajuk lagi bila DSAI tak sebut nama mereka dalam perhimpunan khas kelak?
The veteran politicians should teach the young dayaks to be positive toward mental & physical development in their surrounding areas and to cooperate with the goverment in order to get/bring the project (implementation) fast & smooth. Jangan kaki bangkang saja…pok..pokk

When I think at a higher level for Dayakbaru to make changes, and JJM would bow to your mighty propaganda of wresting power through PKR, your leader chose to look backward to collect stump at BN backyard, a person of Jawah to make changes, who on earth want to trust your mission & vision, but only disappointed by the same old melodies- personal interest, expect old cronies to reach for the moon.

you can curse JJM Junior and debate as long as it takes but at the end of the day PKR must prove that the leaders (wakil rakyat) can deliver the goodies to the voters better than BN, not making noise (seen) during election only.
JJM senior is very happy to pass the button to your captain (who>> Jawah, Adit, John?) if Dayakbaru can prove their worthiness/ capability in helping the dayaks to progress if not better at least at par with other m’sians.
