CONGRATULATION to BN and YB Mussen for winning the Batang Ai by-election. The Sarawak BN promised that this win is a “gift” to YAB Najib Abdul Razak. It is a fitting gift – the people have spoken and BN has promised many development to Batang Ai. I am sure BN will deliver the same.
BN promised about $80 million of development for Lubok Antu / Batang Ai and that would bring benefit and enrich the life of Dayak in LA/BA.
For PKR and Dayakaru – this defeat is disappointing but politics is a struggle, it is a long process before the voters can understand the “principles and political struggle” of each party. For PKR this is a step forward and to learn from the issues brought up by BN in Dayak majority constituency.
When the going is tough the tough get going. PKR have no time to waste and start to prepare for the next State election. PKR need to move faster in its organizational development and also preparing its leaders to face the coming State election.
Dayakbaru – we do not need to put our head down, with $80 million projects, the buying of votes, the superiority of BN logistics and the instant noodles are all important elements of winning a by election.
I asked that all Dayakbaru will continue with our struggle. We must move forward without being emotional. Be focus and stay objective. Do not point fingers and blame anybody. We need the voters in the next round to vote for us. We must maintain mutual respect with BN and work on programme to benefit the people.
Once again – CONgratulation to BN and thank you for the many projects fro Iban in Batang Ai.

Thank you Dr JBA for maintaining your cool over the loss despite the painstaking efforts you have done over the many months. Its a sign that you are now a matured politician.
Please continue the good works and face the challenges ahead. Vision 2020 is coming near so what can we do in order no to be left far behind.

You learn from defeat to fight another day. A by-election in Sarawak is different from a state election where BN can’t bribe everyone or try to cheat by stuffing ballot boxes with BN pre-marked papers like they did and again denied MAFREL to accompany the votes. For the peninsular, thanks for rejecting Umno and BN. Thank you for being awake though it is you who have used Sarawak’s resources (through BN) to have better roads, Universities and hospitals. It is because you are learned and you know what the FUTURE means and holds for you.
In 2007, two by-elections were held in Ijok and Machang in Melaka where BN won. They thought they would always maintain the status quo. Taib Mahmud may think that he will repeat the “stolen” victory again. He is mistaken. Like the peninsular votes revolved few months later, we shall. The struggle continues
Dear Dr JBA, without our fight I do not think the BN will promise abt RM80M woth of development projects in Batang Ai. And without ths by-election, Batang Ai & Lubuk ANtu will always remain like it is today.
Therefore, we have succeeded in some small away.
Thank you Dr.Brain. So kind of you. I wish many more dayak like you. Kind advice… winner don’t take all and loser don’t loss all. Good for the people of Lubok Antu.

Keep up the good job.Don’t give up. May be we lost this time, but in some other ways we have won something from this election.
Start from now we have to do more,work harder and plan properly for next coming election. The is victory never come easily.
BN had promised a lot of thing for Rakyat in Lubok Antu, I hope they will deliver it accordingly.
Next election is coming soon, lets us start doing something to earn a better chances to win some seat in coming election.

Of course BN would win an easy victory, given all our taxpayer money and government resources at its disposal.
The Dayaks must be educated that when BN say they give out cash rebate and development projects, all those monies are NOT BN’s money. Those monies are taxpayer money and the rakyat’s money. NO, NOT BN’s. It is my money and your money.
The Dayaks need a visionary leader who can unite them towards a common vision that is much larger and goes far beyond overthrowing Taib Mahmud and BN.
Now the Opposition movement seem too obsessed with wanting to get ride of Taib. Before I can join the movement, I need to see what is there beyond that. Remember that history is littered with nations that undergo revolutions that change governments,but only to face further destruction because there is no greater vision to progress to after a change of gov’t.
Lastly, election campaign in Sarawak cannot be won on the Internet, unlike in America.
BN wins in Batang Ai. Well, the people of Batang Ai have made up their minds and voted for BN after all the sufferings that they have gone through all these years. BGB says good luck to them all. Lets see what will happen in the future to the people of Batang Ai. If it happens that history repeats itself again and the people continues to suffer, BGB says “Serves you right! You asked for it!” Sounds harsh eh? Kadang-kadang bahasa yang sebegini perlu untuk memberi kesedaran. Memang terdapat jenis-jenis manusia yang payah sangat untuk ditegur.

This loss does’nt mean the end of the world to usPKR. This is just the beginning. But remember 2000 plus voters in Btg Ai could not be induced by all the instant noodles and $- salute all of you who voted for PKR. But what ever, without the byelection i am sure the 80 million project will not come to LA and even this is yet to be seen to be implemented.

Dear Anthony Brian,
BN’s victory in Batang Ai is only to be expected just as BN was expected to win in Ijok By-Election. Do not despair. Remember Tan Sri Khalid lost in the Ijok By-Election only to win the seat in the 12th GE and become the current Selangor MB. Believe the same can happen in Sarawak. Be strong.
Pakatan’s failure to win Batang Ai is not unexpected and its not Jawah’s failure too. It might actually fire up the Dayaks living in sub-urban and urban constituencies .The two wins in Bukit Selambau and Bukit Gantang are already deemed to be a referendum of Najib’s leadership and that multi racial Malaysians do not accept him.
If Najib still thinks he is a PM for all Malaysians he should call for a fresh election in Perak and only then we shall judge him by his actions.
To all bloggers and volunteers in Batang AI helping to campaign for PKR, our efforts are not in vain and we felt happier for staying true to our convictions.
Whether our brothers and sisters living in the longhouses of LA/BA are real winners it is yet to be seen. The immediate winners who did nothing to sway the votes in favour of BN are certainly Ting Ling Kiew and Salleh Jaffaruddin who hoped to receive ang pows of a few thousand ringgit each from Najib or Taib while the voters of LA/BA will only receive a few hundred ringgit each from their tuai rumah. Since Najib has lost the most important battles in the two bukits, they can kiss their luck goodbye as well.
To all supporters of Jawah and those who helped him unselfishly God bless and we shall be back working for the next state election after a few days deserving rest.

I noticed the lack of maturity in the Sarawak people. They have let themselves robbed of their rights, wealth and natural resources. 50 years of independence did not bring significant progress to your society. Where are your courageous and brave Iban spirit! You are being controlled and divided so that you cannot rule your state.

Please get down to business as time is short and many promises were made to the rural folks about the development to be implemented by the BN in the constituency of Batang Ai N29.
I personally, would like to see Batang Ai being the turning point for the Ibans, this time for the right reason by going for the present day government who hopefully will provide the much needed development in the area as promised.

Who you are, where you are and what you are our struggle is ongoing process to fight the Dayak Right, whether you are BN or opposition. We needs to cooperated and united to fight the Dayak Right or Civil Right. Our enemies is not Malay, not Melanau, not Chinese, not Taib, not Najib even not Jabu. Our enemies are nepotism, cronism, corruption, power abuse, descrimination, double standard, unjustice, unfair and many odd attitude, we need makes it specific to identify those involved. Not all BN are corrupted some are good people like Abang Johari and Tun M Son. Human being can change, Party can change but these enemies always exist and ongoing and needs us to fight it. To fight its thro politic is one way but there are so many proper way to fight against its.

5. white rice is ok , no need fried rice. Ikan billis is ok and no need salmon or cod fish. Long house is ok so long as got water& electricity – no need to own shopping complexes like the chinese. Ah for the mean time kancil will do and no need BMW.

The contributing factor to PKR’s loss should not be perceived as being made by the hands of batang ai voters. In fact, PKR shouldnt be so cocky by thinking that their loss is a minor setback due to lack of money or voters’ maturity.
Actually, PKR should look back and think of the more obvious reasons. Here’s some:
1) SNAP turn their back on PKR
2) PKR’s manifesto is to give change a chance but they never had the capacity to give the people a chance (i.e. money)
3) Jawah may be a strong candidate, but his contribution towards Lubok Antu is not sufficient to cause any impact. 20 long years lacking in development is apparently quite enough for the people to think smartly not to vote for him.
Although PKR’s win in Bukit Gantang and Bukit Selambau is a clear evidence to the government that people wanted change, that does not mean it is their literal wish. Young voters in both constituency wanted a difference…not a change. They wanted the symbol of party to be changed, no more BN as they would’ve say it. Apparently, some of my friends from peninsular admitted that people there do not know what they want as they are tired of BN…simply because BN had ruled for a long time. The question is: Is the problem really comes from the government or the people?
Here, we are dealing with a very subjective matter. We don’t even know if the rakyat really know what they wanted from any party. The only way to convince them is to tell lies, and im brave enough to tell everybody now that both BN and PKR lied to people in order to fish votes. Do the candidates really meant what they said during the campaign? 40% yes and 60% no. Psychologically speaking, nobody want to lose. If that’s the case, how do we even know which party is the best? Even people who support their respective party dont know why they are showing their endless support. Is it loyalty? Look at SNAP. Is it principle? Pak Lah is clearly manipulated by his son in law, that’s why BN failed in last year’s GE. Then what is it? What is missing then?
We all should look beyond the obvious. We all have to admit, even with the two Bukit win, Anwar’s influence is slowly disappearing…he mocked the people by announcing takeover of government, he mocked the people even more with his ‘surprise’ a few days ago, only to be let down by announcing PPP’s defection in which one of the PPP’s representative denied such allegation. Dr Brian, let me ask you,honestly, do you still support Anwar with all those nonsense?
Dr Brian, your fight against BN is admirable because you believed that you’re fighting for a greater cause. But do not let the symbol and a certain so called ‘charismatic’ opposition leader blind you from looking for the best option to serve the rakyat. Don’t harbour any ill feelings towards BN politicians or the government just because they’re made the wrong move. Your fight should be constructive enough to turn things around without being emotionally driven. Just like the saying goes, “If you can’t fight them, join them”. I do not mean that you should join BN but if you have that power which belongs to your enemy and you should turn the power into a positive mean to help people.
Here’s an example. Jawah was for BN for 20 long years. What did he bring during the long tenure? Not much, and I know you are aware of that, Dr Brian, so dont pretend you dont know. After YB Nyallau came to replace him, he was praised immediately for his fast contribution towards Lubok Antu’s development and this happened only in his first year of serving for the rakyat. Now, how did that happen? Its because Nyallau use the power for good intention and god bless him for doing so. I believed that Jawah’s intention far less than that. I mean, if he really wanted to serve the people, where is the development? He even accused the government of not providing the much needed development to the people of Lubok Antu…then again, he was WITH the government last time! the irony in his remark is that Nyallau is with BN and he succeed in which Jawah failed.
From this example, we all should know that a symbol does not represent anything…it is the individual. So please, do not blind yourself with the symbol of the party. You cant take any action by switching camps or giving out ceramahs to every longhouses. It is all about which party had the strongest advantage, and it is up to the individual how they want to use that power…Congratulations to both parties for giving a good fight. let’s hope for a continuation for development in Sarawak as well as in peninsular.
Nya meh …kitai iban endang sigi beguna ke belanja walaupun nadai si maioh tang kitai sama ninga peruntukkan untuk LA RM 80 mil tang kena PKR enti ka ngerampas Swak ari BN…Start ari diatu sida meri peruntukkan sekurang2 RM 100 mil untuk setiap kawasan Dun atau MP…PkR mesti olih menang di Swak tang enti majak bejako aja ..nadai jako nya olih ngerampas Swak.

My understanding are:
1.We Dayak/Iban mostly do not understand politic..only politic kedai kopi.
2.We hate Semenanjung base party…what about BN??Go there and SEE,LEARN & THINK….are the Pakatan Rakyat Leaders very rich???….Why Anwar dare to go to jail where he can enjoy the wealth if support BN,Khalid Ibrahim -see selangor progress,Nik Aziz still have no Banglo after 20yrs become MB…and many ….
In other words-Sarawakian can see what is good/honest & what is bad/liar for the future of our generation.
3.We don’t have any sense of dayakism-we don’t feel any SYMPATHY AT ALL to any discrimination (eg.destroying long house by BN)done to any dayak anywhere….to us DIA PUNYA PASAL – MEREKA LAWAN PERINTAH-ohhh ohhh come-on.
4.We are selfish ….always think for short term & instant personal gain..if given beer, rice,sugar, bla..bla..oh PERINTAH MANAH.
5.Had we compare our standard of living with other communities-eventhough we are the majority.
6.We are not united just because of small $$.THINK-we body stay together in on ROOF (Long House)but our soul are spliting.SEE the Chinese-they stay in big bunglo very far apart but they alway together & UNITED if their rights are threaten/provoked.

Good for PKR to lose so that there will be more damage for BN in incoming state election that most probably conducted by end of next year or early 2011.
I think it would be a good idea if we can create a website / blog that monitor the promises and achievement made by political parties in Malaysia. This will be a great way for everyone of us to expose the truth in the upcoming by-election.

Ngagai semua bala kitai ti meri komen ba blog tu enggau blog ke bukai. Badu agi muai ai liur bejakuka orang ba BA/LA din….lebih ari separuh sida din udah nyundal!!
I felt that the BA voters are very smart, they knew that by voting PKR they will not get the development they needed. Simple, this by-election will not change the state gov, it only can happen the coming state election. If BN couldn’t fulfill their promises of RM80 million, we will vote them out.
Anyway, as for me I already made my mind, i’ll never vote for BN as long they are not fighting for the majority of the rakyat.
This result in BA doesn’t change my spirit to see change in Sarawak.
Aku udah macha sekeda ari komen bala kita. Alah menang dalam pilihanraya endang adat bepilih. Menua kitai ngena sistem demokrasi. Sapa ka menang sigi megai perintah. Alah bisi kebuah lalu iya ka menang bisi chara. Ba komen aku sekali tu, aku mai kitai berundingka nama kebuah pengari PKR Jawah Gerang tu alah. Kebuah aku mai kitai bejuraika nya dalam blog tu, ngambika tu ila bisi ka penemu kitai kena ngaduka chara langgur ( plan) dalam pengawa bepilih ti deka datai tu ila.
1. Kuasa Duit
Lebuh maya ka kempen sebedau bepilih tu kitai udah meda sereta ninga perintah BN meli undi enggau chara tunai ari bala pengundi LA. Nyau bekesundur projek dibai mudik ke LA.Peruntukan RM80 juta udah disemaya bala perintah BN kena ngemansangka menua enggau rayat di LA. Enti semaya nya AMAT ni enda untung kaban belayan kitai di LA din. Tebal agi bala pengundi di LA udah makai janji enggau semaya perintah BN. Nya ti ngasuh sida tekuing ati ngundi pengari BN.
2. Chara Ngenakut/Ngemba/Mejal
Bala Konsela,Pemancha,Pengulu enggau tuai-tuai rumah udah dibasu runding lalu ditekan sida perintah BN.Enti sida enda ulih mai/ngirit anembiak diri ngundi BN, sida deka diganti tauka dibuai ari pengawa sida. Sekeda tuai rumah bisi ngemba anembiak diri, enti anembiak iya enggai nitihka iya ngundi BN, orang nya deka diburu angkat ari rumah panjai. Kebuah iya pia, laban tuai-tuai rumah ti baka nya ngetanka penuduh diri enggau gaji ti ka semina RM450 aja. Sida tuai-tuai kitai Dayak udah ditampal mata, ditejal pending lalu mulut disempal perintah BN ngena duit.Perintah BN balat nanchang lalu mekuhka runding & penemu tuai-tuai kitai Dayak ngena chara tu.
3.Pengari PKR
Jawah Gerang udah 5 penggal nyadi pengari LA. Bisi sekeda bala pengundi udah leju ngundi iya laban udah kelalu lama nyadi pengari. Kedua, nyangka sekeda ari utai ti dijanji/dikerja iya suba agi bedau dikamatka.Bisi mega penemu bala pengundi di LA, nyebut Jawah tu mega deka ngulihka penguntung kediri empu laban diatu iya nadai agi penuduk ba BN, nya ti ngasuh iya ngalih ngelaban BN. (Jaku tu balat bendar dikena orang BN kempen) Enti penuduk iya ba BN enda disungkit sida BN empu, kada iya deka nyadi ‘HERO’ orang LA deh? Sekeda mega bisi mantai ka sebana madahka sekumbang Jawah tu nyadi pengari BN di LA, menua nya lalu nadai tentu maju lalu agi jauh tinggal.Pengari BN tu orang baru lalu bala pengundi LA deka “ngujika bintis manuh baru”.
4. Bala pengundi tuai di rumah panjai
Tebal agi sida tu dibasu lenak enggau polisi sereta lambang dachin BN. Asal sida iya meda lambang dachin lalu sunting. Sida tu udah ‘mania’ ngagai lambang dachin lalu nadai berunding panjai.
Runding enggau tinjau penemu sida ti tuai tu agi bedau baka kelia. ( Aku ukai ngumbai kitai Iban beli tauka palui tang penemu enggau runding sida bedau tebuka)Pasal politik enggau polisi perintah BN nadai tentu dalam ditemu sida.Sida enggai berubah lalu enda ‘menchelak’ meda/ninga gaya ubah politik jam kediatu.
5. Bala pengundi anembiak/rebak baru
Tebal agi sida tu orang ti bepelajar sereta bepenemu baru. Sida tu udah ngasai/nemu ubah dalam politik kitai diatu. Sida mega udah bisi jauh tinjau penemu enggau runding. Tang sayau bendar, mayuh agi sida tu bekereja di menua jauh/menua orang. Sekeda amat bisi pulai tang mayuh agi ka enda. Tambah mega sida tu bedau ulih ngenatai penemu & runding kena narit kaban belayan di rumah panjai ngundi penyakal.
6. Kempen ngena blog tu.
Aku meri terima kasih sereta peransang ngagai Dr. John Brian A. ka udah kiruh lalu naka ulih ngaga blog tu ti alai kitai Dayak bejurai lalu berandauka penemu dikena ngetan, ngemaju sereta ngemujurka bansa kitai.Penemu ti dipansut ke nuan Dr. enggau bala ti meri komen ditu endang amat ‘berega’. Tang sayau meh, penemu dalam blog tu enda datai ba bala pengundi di rumah panjai. Bala ti diau di rumah panjai nadai utai ti dikumbai komputer enggau ‘rangkaian internet’.
Semaka penemu & idea dalam blog tu dichelak lalu disadung ngagai rumah panjai pan nadai tentu ‘kesan’, laban tebal agi aki ini apai indai kitai dulu din enda nemu macha.
7.Tinjau penemu ti pandak
Bansa kitai suah ngira utai ti udah ulih saritu, tang enda ulih meragam/merambu utai ti deka nyadi pagila, bulan sigi nyin ila, taun nyin ila tauka 10 taun ti ka datai. Kitai bansa lubah angkat ngeleda (bangkit dan sedar).Komen aku ti dulu ari tu madahka kitai Dayak Iban tu turun orang berani. Tang semina berani nyabong pengering tulang aja. Enti nganjung pengering tulang belaya/bamok baka bala aki ini kitai kelia menya amat kering. Anchur menua anchur dunya. Tang sayau wai, rebak ke diatu orang enda agi nyabong pengering tulang dikena bebunuh agi.

To BA voters, whoever you voted for you already got your share of the tax money (thru BN) that you had paid through sale tax, excise duty, levies etc. But it’s never enough to pay for the higher maintenance cost of your vehicle (if you have one) because of the bad road condition at your place compared to road in s’jung. That’s ok if it’s enough to cater for the daily expenses til the next state election.
Thank you BA voters, you saved Ibanimmigrant virginity! She can mortgage her vibrator until the next election, perhaps, if somebody accept her challenge again.

Never forget to thank Dr. John for winning the popularity votes at this blog. I knew that he got the critics so much or as many as he got the admirers each day. Definitely, he won the great experience throughout the by-election although he sometimes lost his temper for being emotional, arrogant, just tried to make himself feel better (menyamai ati diri).
During the by-election some people gain but other people might lose on the betting. Ting Ling Kiew, the election opportunist of all times could have make hundreds of thousand ringgit through that game & defection.
Winning all the by-election is of course all the towkays kedai of LA, whatever ringgit delivered to the voters/supporters/campaigners, majority end up in the their (towkays) bank account.
That’s the game of election, win, lose or draw. What about you, do you win in one way or another?

They got only 2 choices, vote for BN who have bread and butter (shared with them) or PKR who the hell they know can gurantee looking after their day to day routine or business, at least BN will come again to fulfill part of the promises if not all.
Either their life styles or standard of living remain the same or become better/ improve, and their NCR lands develop in a proper joint-venture or not that’s again up to them to make a choice.
PKR should feel proud of their role after giving tough fight to BN (during the campaign), because of that, in order to keep the voters not to vote for oppositon, BN has/ will pay back the tax money to BA people through cash, grants or MRP.
Now we should feel pity on those who might get victimized by the BN, hopefully never shall be longhouses break into two like during the PBDS opposition era.

Tiap2 kali udah bepilih, rumah panjai kitai iban majak mayoh. Nama kebuah, laban setiap iko kitai ba Rumah panjai lalu bemunsuh enggau pangan diri setegal enda sama pati disukong. Pechah rumah lalu niri ke rumah panjai ke baru. Sekeda ke balat agi sampai belaya diri menyadi lalu bisi mega ningal ke bini setegal enda sama ideology politik. Pegerugi ia mayoh laban belanja kena berumah baru nya besai amat, muai ari muai belanja. Duit ke kena ngidup ke diri abis dikena begaga ke rumah baru. Kelimpah ari nya, bansa kitai lalu bemunsuh diri sebilik, diri sekaban lalu diri sebansa.

In summary, seagi-agi bansa kitai tu miskin, tuai agi ulih beli, bala ke bisi pelajar enda beserakup, seagi2 nya meh kitai tu alah dalam politik lalu dipegai orang belama2.

First of all, congratulations BN for all the tax payer money used during the campaign was not wasted (maybe they should make it transparency on how much tax payer money been used ~ i am one of the TAX contributer and would like to know how much i’ve been ‘contributed’ during the election).
next, congratulation PKR for winning the 2/3 elections and accept the result like a man.. you managed to make few miracles happened ~ big people come over to BA, mega projects etc by giving the necessary pressure, which means that, you done your job well, it is not the matter of winning or losing, but pretty much gaining as much as you could for the people in BA, and you did well (now it is BN job to deliver ~ and i sincerely hope that they will as BA people deserve nothing but the BEST)

1.Must we have a dayak party to get the dayak to vote for pakatan or a change?
- in semenanjung DAP is considered as representing Chinese/tamil/hindu which is consist of few races and yet they vote PAS.
- in USA, majority is orang putih yet the vote OBAMA(black man)
cant we see that the world is changing?? why cant the dayak change?? The mentality of the world is changing, but must we dayak have to have a party that has the dayak word to gain votes thus helping the dayak?
45 years our mentality has not changed and if by putting the dayak name in the party would gain vote from the dayak.. it really shows how our dayak brain works.
Only 2 scenario, either we dayak are smart by voting a party with the work dayak or our chinese/tamil/hindu malaysian and even the USA people are stupid for voting PAS and selecting a black man(Obama) to represent the ‘orang putih”…
