The mainstream media including radio and television and newpapers are controlled by the government and are not allowed to admonish BN government and its leaders.

So, the public who want to criticise the government, to dessiminate information, current issue and messages to the people can use internet and websites as alternative media. Any information, events and current issues that are not to BN government`s preference are not allowed transmitted and published in media. That is the public perception.

Is this to safeguard the principles of democracy and freedom of the press?

How about general election for PM post? That is more positive and meaningful for each and every voters and all rakyat. And certainly more positive than setting own objective only to serve on self-praise self-glorification later. A real businessman-like or CEO knows once you failed making losses bankrupt the only way out is to quit or forced kick out. Losing money is never part of business objective anyway.
