Dayak Youth Business Fund

It is Easy to Talk

Many people say it is easy to talk. I say before talking you must be able to think – as talking is the output of thinking. Is thinking that easy? Yes – when you think for yourself and is not sharing your thought with others it is easy. But when it comes to sharing your thought with others it is not going to be easy.

My thought today is on “helping the Dayak Youth to go into business” to be supported by some sort of funding from our tax payer money.

Economic Planning Unit – Putra Jaya

Such an idea of providing “seed fund” to encourage Dayak Youth to go into business or expand their current business could be proposed to EPU. The question is “who should proposed this idea”?

In West Malaysia the EPU provided $15 million for Indian Youth to expand their business and this proposal was submitted by MIC political party.

Is there a Dayak Party in Sarawak that can lead in submitting this proposal. At least this party would seemed to have an idea of how to move Dayak Youth forward in business.

Do we have to depend on Dayak NGO to do this?

I would expect the Dayak political leaders to work together and push for this Dayak Youth Business Fund for EPU approval.

Failing which we may have to use the Dayak NGos to push for such an idea. The Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU), Sarawak Dayak Graduate Association or other Dayak Organization should take a lead in this idea.

Where Do we Dayak want to be in business

Business is a “lively” activity where our approach must be pragmatic and contineously changing to fit into the environment.

Many business people are supporting the government of the day in order to get new business, expand their business or even to survive in their business because the government of the day are managers of the country natural resources, economic development and tax payer money.

I guessed as in Selangor, many business people are supoorting the PKR (PR) government for the same reason.

Should we vote for BN if Dayak Youth is not given assistance by the BN government

That is where I came from – many people say talk is easy. It is not that easy when you do not have the idea. Our BN Dayak YB do not seemed to have “idea” to develop Dayak Youth. Now, we are suggesting ONE idea for them to consider and if agreed to work on. That will make us Dayakbaru interested in supporting a government that care for our Dayak Youth. If NOT, why should we support BN?

Conclusion

Dayak leaders has proven again that that any idea that do not come from them is NOT acceptable – eg the Dayak Endowment Fund. It is time for Dayak leaders to lower down their ego and accept a good idea no matter where it comes from.

At the end of the day, if we are truely leaders of Malaysia we should be able to accept input from any quarters as long as it benefits our people.

If our leader do not change – then we will change them
