Dayak Leaders are denying Dayak poverty existence
The hard core poverty still exists among the dayak communities and why our dayak leaders are crying shame to deny it? Instead, they should find ways and means to work out the programme to be implemented to tackle poverty among dayaks.
Benchmark for income and poverty
The government adopted the policy to recognize a family earns less than RM750 a month is considered as poor, but Dato Mawan seems not to know the existing government policy when he said that there was no benchmark or yardstick to determine what was the income to be labeled as poverty and he further urged that there was no definite statistic to state that Dayak communities were living in poverty.
Mong Dagang does not know about poverty among Dayak
Bukit Begunan assemblyman Mong Dagang who disagreed with Lim Guan Eng`s proposal aid for Dayaks, confidently admitted that the development of NCR land by Salcra had helped increase the income and standard of living of the rural people with amenities and enhanced infrastructure.
How far it is true, let we work out the following statement by a dayak leader as reported by a local newspaper dated 8.12.08. Quote. ” Since Salcra started in 1976, it has benefited more than 14,000 people and paid out RM20 million in dividends to landowners whose land it developed into oil plantation.”
Let me ask this question.
How much is a dividend a month for each participant (landowner) got in the period of 26 years? I am not that good in mathematics but I can give roughly answer less than RM5.00 a month.
Conclusion (Dayakbaru)
Leader like Mong Dagang has no idea on what he is talking about and much lesson finding a solution for Dayak poverty. A Youth leader of a party should have done research and provide the PRS main body with facts.
Emotion and politiking like wanting to burn PAS flag are response from people who are not thinking. If such leaders cannot do their job by thinking theybetter give way to potential effective leaders in PRS. There are many out there.

My calculation (1976 – 2008) is 32 years period, only RM20 million in dividends for 14,000 landowners, yes each gets less than RM5 a month. That is what Mong Dagang proud of.

According to the calculation above the yields for rm5.00 was counted from 1976, does anyone know Rm5.oo value in 1976, most fail to notice it.
SALCRA success in developed and cultivate our vast NCR land which give in return dividend, employment as casual workers and staffs, basic infrastructure. Are we, sorry for our words, too stupid to let ours NCR land be idle and doing nothing?
oR are we for sure that Penang CM Lim Guan, really sincere in his words and heart about endowment policy plan to eradicate the poverty among our dayaks or he is rather seeking a name to be hero, baka kepayang ngada ke dilah? Why don,t he find a remedy to his interior problems such as kampung bukit pala or Malaysian High Chaparral.
At least our PRS Youth Leader did give us some aid through his MRP projects, other so sorry to say, just NATO.

Dividend per year = RM 2,000,000 / 14,000 People = RM 142.85 ( in 33 Years)
Each Person = RM 142.85 Over 33 Year.
In 1 year, 1 person will have = RM 142.85 / 33 Years = RM 4.33 / 1 Year
In monthly payment will be = RM 4.33 / 12 month
= RM 0.36 or 36 sen only going into their pocket.

Ari tu, urang rumah panjai bisi lebih kurang RM2,400 sehectar setaun. Nyadi engka assumptions nya bisi salah pansik, we take less half, the longhouse people should take at least RM1,200 per hectare per year. Enti salah enda meh jauh iga.

You see, most folks that had been involved in SALCRA all giving their thumb-up! Every year they earn some handsome dividend. Yeap! Some TRs even request SALCRA to develop their mass NCR lands which produce nothing in term of monetary gain, they have seen their brothers which developed their NCR lands through SALCRA gained much benefits, such as feeder road, treated water, employments and etc.
Wake-up, this is the twenties century, we don’t want our NCR land to be idle. Let us developed it together with SALCRA, JV, FELCRA and other co. with big names such trade wind, samling, shin yang and etc.
After all folks don’t be ashamed to admit we(referring to the dayaks) especially in the rural are still poor, mostly less educated and so forth. They still need the BN aid for their livelihood.
The BN has done a satisfactory job in uplifting our standard of living especially in the rural areas. Though there are maybe a few short-coming in their implementation agents. But yes, nobody is perfect not even PR.

Enti nuan enda pecaya kitu nuan ke menoa kami di Kanowit ditu ngaga pansik. Nya aja, enti enda entu nemu anang bejako sengapa.
