Dayak Political leaders prefer to be “Mr. Clean”

DB,
Reasons for political party to be formed
There are a thousand kinds of reasons for something to be established. Having clear reasons will guide oneself to have conspicuous vision and unambiguous objectives.
Similarly, a Dayak political party needs to have reasons for it to be formed. Even before it is set up, there are definitely a kind of a consensus in respect of reasons for its formation and to be pursued to the highest possible level so that the voice and grievances of the people its attempts to represent could be heard by the government.
Dayak political parties are expected to voice their individual political causes. In some cases, even the Non Dayaks are also inducted into the party so that it could become a more effective means to pursue the Dayak interests.
The things that a Dayak Party can pursue
There are so many things that a Dayak political party could claimed to pursue. As highlighted by MT, some of them are:
“…..abject poverty, democracy, trade and economy, religion, education, rural economics etc……”.
So, do we think that our Dayak leaders have no knowledge at all about the predicaments gripping our Dayak community?.
Even if they do not go to the ground to be with the rakyat, the problems are always there for them to see. There are nothing new about their existence in our Dayak community. It is not exaggerating when we say that they exist even before our leaders have become YBs. Therefore, our Dayak YBs should take some our problems as the main causes for their involvement in politics.
Is this the case for them? .
Rightly some of us view their involvement as self enrichment above the interests of the Dayak community as a whole. In the absence of YBs representing them to voice their plights, the poor Dayak will become poorer while the rich and lucky few will become richer.
Dayak’s capability – what is it?
The plights of the majority of the Dayak have seemingly been put aside out of purposeful intention of their bosses or through sheer incapability. When, election comes again, they will go around to play the same old tune that they are always the right candidate representing the Dayak in fighting for their rights.
This move has been repeated for the last forty six years and apparently will continue for years to come without drastic change in Dayak mentality.
Dayak political Leadersprefer to be “Mr. Clean”
In short to say that our Dayak political Leaders are without political causes is rather inaccurate. As at the beginning, they have something in their minds but when it matters most, especially when meeting the political bosses, they prefer to be Mr. Clean.
They are speechless as doing so means they are always supportive of the government policy even though it encroaches into the rights of the Dayak as initially claimed to be the main purpose for their involvement.
In other words, our Dayak YBs have miserably failed to champion the Dayak Causes which makes it seems they like having no causes at all.
Cheers….
