BN trying to capitalize on Iban language – for winning election

BN – in preparation for coming election
The Iban language to be taught in local universities!? Indeed…!? Are you sure its not a ‘red herring’ statement, a decoy, tranquilizers…to numb and sooth the pain and anger of the Dayaks,…in preparation for the coming General Election!?
The statement sounds suspicious,..too tall an aim,..too soon.
Do we have any/enough scholars,tutors and lecturers in the deep and pure (jaku dalam),Iban language for university level? Do we have people like Datuk Edmund Langgu, Edward Unti,Janang Ensiring,Jantan Umbat…?
Is there any real interest for Iban to study the language
Do we have sufficient study sources,books…..? Most importantly: can we foresee any real interest in students,especially Ibans,to pursue such study into great depth?
Malu ngena jaku diri
When have the Ibans youth of today spoke with pride their language in public? They would prefer to converse with fellow Ibans in hush-hush or in Iban-Malay medium. Malu ngena jaku bansa diri empu. Why!? Because the language would betray their race,….and they are ashamed to belong to a race that is pictured as wild, illiterate, dirty, uneducated, primitive, weak, a ‘foot-stool’ for other races, coward….!! So they think.
Do we really have many qualified teachers teaching in Iban
Is the Iban language subject a popular choice among the students,(especially Ibans),in secondary schools in Sarawak? Are their teachers themselves qualified to teach the language? Do the schools have Iban books and study sources written and prepared by Iban intellectuals?
Will the books be written or lectures be given in the Saribas,the Lundu,the Rejang,the Lemanak,the Undup Iban language?
Iban language has been diluted and polluted
I believe the Iban language has been greatly ‘diluted and polluted’ over the years. Just listen to WaiFM since the exit of ‘old timers’ like Roland Duncan Klabu,Bruen Montegrai,Wilson Eddie Gaong,and those before them like the late Edward Kechendai,Andria Ijau,Umpang Ujai,… except for Thomas Tegong Laka,Francis Linggi,….. For those among us who have listened to these ‘old timers’,you know what i mean…
Those working in Radio Iban is so pathetic in their Iban language presentation
The absence of people like ALL those named above,…and that of qualified teachers of proper Iban language,…would see the diminish and natural demise of a language so beautiful and colorful,so pure and creative,orally and written.The IBAN language.

To reply your general calumniation and queries…?
You have admitted that most and almost all Dayaks have benefited so much from the BN gomen rule. Why the fuss on keep hating the BN gomen?
They have done their job as the gomen to nurture development and human capital as well. Schools, universities, colleges, training institutions were built throughout the country for you to gain access for employment.
Now ask those dayak’s parents who always see things negatively, like refusing their daughter to go to school because they said “ anak indu enti pandai empu orang meh akih “. Another example sound like “ nyamai agi anak enti cukup umur lalu bekuli ari ke masau hari besekula, muai duit ngapa” This is still happening in this 21 century.
You want to blame the BN gomen for that? Whoever is the gomen as what I said it will not change the situation into better for the Dayaks, or Iban words to describe “ Antu dugau2 nyuruh senang pan enda olih, enti majak bakanya”. Meaning “Antu “ for Iban beliefs can also be “God”. Even God also said that, “ You must help yourself then, only God help you “.
Meaning this can be interpreted like this, YOU are responsible for Who you are, no god in celestial body, no gomen on earth can do anything, except You.
Back to BN gomen, this principle of helping “ you help me, I help you “ basis is in fact well studied before being said and not against the divine call. You may ask and why it seems that you contradict your statement saying that BN gomen can help you? You see now, PR combining of 3 political parties that does not champion the Dayaks due to the below factors:
a) PKR is a political party to champion the Anuar plight and will do anything to get Anuar become the PM. Party to free Anuar and this saga will continue and nothing is to champion the peoples right, except spreading lies night and day. The Dayaks will be carried away and lost more.
b) DAP is Malaysia for all Malaysian, meaning Chinese will have equal access to everything be it political or economy. They strictly believe on meritocracy, so how many Dayaks that really of these groups if you refer to my above argument on the negative dayaks thinking. The Chinese are the backbone of the country economy now and for Chinese mentality sky is the limit for everything. Meaning you will be worse than where you are now. Agi Idup Agi Ngelaban does not make sense at all here.
c)PAS stressing more in Islamic way of life and dreaming to make Malaysia an Islamic state. Meaning if you want to be in gomen servant you have to embrace PAS. In business you are not allow to make too much profit absolutely the opposite of DAP. Quite a perfect match for DB as you shall not make yourselves rich either.
The best and suitable credible gomen is the BN. Before you lost more better join JJM.Mawan.Jabu and help yourselves to improve in economy by utilizing your land. If you want the grocery to be cheap you must turn you NCR land to agriculture, rearing chicken, pig and etc. Sabahan plant a lot of vegetables and really utilize their land that was why they can have a cheaper price.
So DB your NCR nyadi ke pemandang aja? Or to help to make the world greener?

Exploiting language issue is the same old Umno plot with BM’s obsessive complexity. J*bu simply copied it, rebrand Iban language issue to false-alarm the Iban folks. That’s all the ploy is all about.
The fear of losing identity is one but a great bullcraps and made worse to think it as education agenda. An Iban is still an Iban, as what a Dayak live in California will still be a Dayak and so forth they ensure their kids will speak Dayak language and converse it well with other languages into BM, English, Mandarin etc. Even Mahapokrit once said that a Malay being proficient in English doesn’t mean he/she will become American or convert to Christianity.
For all intent and purposes, the best medium of instruction for higher learning shall be English. Do not make life difficult and complicated, against the tide. Stop making stupid remarks like the German or Japanese can be as advanced while using own language so it is ought to be the same for BM or Iban language. Well, those Japanese, Germans are long civilised advanced nations before anyone can think that being overly ambitous would end up making yourself a blind fool.
For being fooled by these linguist-extremist, govt wasted billions in re-training the teachers, re-write text books BM-English only to reverse and abolish PPMSI, not to mention the cost and time to the sorry teachers that have yet to finance their study loans just to upgrade degree-level themselves for this then-abolished policy. English, according to Umno goons somehow a threat to BM and they succesfully will reverse our education standard even lower and backward without the emphasis on English anymore. What J*bu trying to tread now with Iban language is the same with what Umno goons did to make-believe that language struggle equals race existance is a great political milage.
It would be great if Dayak students are encouraged to be multi-lingual BM-English-Mandarin-Iban in a way that the language itself complement each other and increase the vocabulary level (which is for Dayak language still the lowest in vocabulary, not comprehensive enough). In fact govt must introduce compulsory language classes to primary students and promote multi-lingual capabilites among students. What joy for a Dayak kid that can speak Tamil, Mandarin, English, BM and cross-translate it into Iban language that seems like a joke trick.
Language conservation is good but advancement to the point of gate-crashing it for university is tantamount to asking every Dayak to believe that Buah Kepayang is the ultimate golden fruit for large-scale farming. Being diverse and flexible with language is the key, not abuse and promote it as something that is fantasy political falsehood and in the end turning the language with unnecessary sense of obsessive complexity: fear of others and insecure pursuit of superiority.
Language is like our body and soul. Enrich, protect it with diversity and flexibility but you can kill it with diseases like falsehood and obsessive complexity. It’s sad for J*bu to choose the latter like what Umno did to BM unnecessarily.

Amai ko nuan nya bakih. Baka sekeda channel Radio kitai Iban (enda tau sebut nama)nyau lelak pending ninga sida mutar ka lagu Bujang Lelayang tiap ari. Leka lagu nya pan enda temu tungga, tak sebarang embal aja, malu ninga. Uji kitai merati ka leka lagu penyanyi kitai dulu menya baka Brangka Bayang, Christopher Kerry, Pauline Linang. (Agi ingat ka lagu “Balang Semaia”) Jauh dalam lirik lagu jako iban sida nya enda sebarang embal. Lalu sekeda DJ Radio kitai Iban diatu bejako Iban pun semadi aja, nyau charut enggau jako bansa laut. Dini deh ka mansang jako Iban enti bakanya.
