Pia mega PKR enti ia enda race base enda Anwar terang2 madah ia ke nyadi PM, lalu nadai kala ia berani madah ke DAP baka Mr.Lim and Kapal tau nyadi PM enti PR menang bepilih besai. Bakani kitai olih ngerari ke diau di Malaysia tu ari dipegai laut. DAP tu pen racist meh Doc, enti ia enda nadai membership parti tu tediri ari majoriti China.

Unmistakably too, they are these DAYAK BN leaders (not to say names )who were given all the opportunities,over the years were SIMPLY NOT DOING their jobs well,in other words, simply NOT PERFORMING.

There is nothing wrong when DB comes out with constructive criticisms for the betterment of everyone including the marginalised Dayaks.
It is logical that if the marginalised people are being looked after, those cronies or those who are rubbing shoulders with the ministers should be very grateful and happy too.

The first two comments from you are pretty linear, instructing all DBs to stop the blaming game. And I guess this is what you are good at.

You want us to do positive things because you do not see many in this blog but may we also know what positive things have you done to yourself, your family, your relatives, neighbours like aki ini, ibu aya, bala cousins, Iban community as a whole and the nation?. Look at your first few words. They are just too negative towards us.

I hope you can come out in the open if you have successfully done so much for the Iban community. Start a blog like Dr John’s for all the Iban to see, read, think, emulate and be our guideline in Iban life. Why must you be hiding yourself when you have done so much.Why should you be afraid?.

I could be wrong but I presume there are not many Iban who are willing to give some motivational talks to the folks in rural areas. A YB from my area has never spoken a word or two about education when visiting our longhouse. He only talks about the need to rally our support behind him for the BN government. This sort of speech is boring as it does not stress on the importance of education.

Therefore, it is not DB that is always playing political game but the YBs themselves. DB is only reacting to their all too familiar tune with all the initial actions started by the YBs themselves.

The concept started from the political upheavals leading up to the event when Malaya was granted Merdeka. Then, as is now – the politically dominant race are Malay,Chinese,and Indians.

While the Malays, Chinese and Indians populations were still monolithic: political aspiration can be neatly packaged, and differentiated along racial lines.

After some changes in socio-economic activities and it becomes more difficult to associate Malays with farming, Indians with rubber estate, and Chinese with businesses, the political aspirations of Malaysians had grown out of racial lines.Certain issues like Corruptions – are of concern to all Malaysians who understand the consequence of such practice.

Also, the general rise (in the number) of the middle class – in all the 3 major race,has major influence in making race-based politics becoming less relevant.

No where else is this process happening with such clarity than within the Malay community themselves.

After a series petty schism, that were not really so: but mainly cause by leadership tussle, the Malay community have now appear to have settled into PKR, UMNO and PAS, due to the ongoing rise of the Malay middle class.

The rise of the Malays middle class appear to produce 2 groups: one with an inclination to pursue social justice through PKR,in an almost secular sense while another group is incline to do the same via PAS – religious-centric form of social justice and politics.(Of course, many Malay middle class remains in UMNO).

The gradual social changes that is threathening to make BN irrelevant,is also happening in Sarawak.

The exception is that the Dayaks share of the middle class is still comparatively very small,compare with the Malays and Chinese.

And another exception is that: while the Malays of Peninsula, were cohesive and politically strong as a group, when they were at the same early stage of development as the Dayaks are today, the Dayaks have become politically defragmented due to leadership tussles (and some said, due to deliberate manipulation by powerful figures).

The first exception, in the absence of large middle class (compare with other Malaysian) suggest the Dayak group would want to band together, and practise “us versus them” race-based politics.The second exception, breaks the norms of political phases that the Malays, Indians and Chinese had undergone.

So the political history of Dayak, is yet to be written. Regretably, it has stand still – while the others, notably the Malays – have moved on.

Menghunus keris untuk menyuntik semangat perjuangan dan keberanian orang melayu taklah salah. Tetapi bila ia dilakukan sambil melaungkan kata-kata tajam yang dihalakan kepada rakyat malaysia yang lain sehingga melukakan perasaan mereka,……itu tak betul.

Bayangkan: jika dibenarkan untuk disiarkan menerusi TV dan radio,(seperti perhimpunan UMNO),rakyat malaysia yang berbangsa cina,india,dayak,kadazan masing-masing berbuat serupa: menghunus sejata tradisional mereka sambil berteriak,melaungkan,menghalakan kata-kata yang tajam dan menyinggung perasaan bangsa lain,contohnya melayu…..apakan jadi pada rakyat kita?

Tambah pula kata-kata sinis tanpa sekatan, oleh para wakil yang berebut untuk menonjolkan diri sebagai juara bangsa mereka,…..seakan akan bangsa lain itu musuh bangsa mereka,….apakan jadi pada negara kita?

Seperti yang saya kata dulu, sifat ‘racist’dan pentingkan bangsa,budaya dan agama sendiri memang sifat semuljadi manusia. Terpulanglah pada kita untuk mengawalnya. Apatah lagi jika kita orang yang dianugerahkan tampok kepimpinan negara yang bebilang kaum dan agama seperti malaysia.

Memandangkan melayu dan UMNO bangsa yang paling ramai dan party yang paling ‘berkuasa’ di malaysia,alangkah baiknya mereka bersifat ‘RASMI PADI’: semakin menjadi,semakin tunduk. Dan hentikan sifat menjadi buli. Dengan cara ini kedamaian antara rakyat akan kekal dan terjamin dan negara aman dan makmur.

Pls do not blame others for dayak backwardness, I’m dayak myself, in all sense of words, but pls reflect back on our history, our socio political leadership, our socio economic achievement. Do some detail research/diagnosis first then make some correction/treatment where possible whilst doing so try to figure out the good things that we could make out of our association with others,not simply blaming others for our failure, you Brian,other than talking to your laptop, we have not seen any outstanding thing that you have contributed to our society, the Iban in particular let alone bringing positive/good change to the social landscape of Dayak in Sarawak. I don’t deny some reasonable comments that have been put forward here neither do I despise Dayak progress, I crave to see some really outstanding Dayak like Jalla and few others, tell our people to emulate their feat through roadshow/seminars etc. NOT just politicking, otherwise there will be no ending to our problems.
