Inspirational word from gkm2020
2010 has been table in the parliment today, seem that this 2010 budget under new administration and brand as so called 1 Melesia being simplified version of previous budget. Nothing much different in general view only the brand has been change but the content is still remain the old stuf. Yet, he dare to say that this is the budget for the people.
Therefore question should be ask to ourself:
Is this kind of administration that we should render our support for a next few years?
Is this a goverment that is really care for the low level income group?
Is this a goverment that is capable of deliver of what promise being made, while they keep on accusing others of incapable of doing so?
Answers to the above question in our own heart and mind. Just do not simply blind folded our eyes for we have been fool for so long.
2010 is coming soon and we are the one that should make a change.
2010 should be a new fresh start for us, while this budget should maybe sound quite ridiculous but we can change this scenario in few years to come.
2010 let be the end day of office for white meat ball and he should be cook away and all his persistant ball polisher.
Endai!!!! Nadai bonus pia kaban!. Nadai ko enggau meh, makai paku kubok aja meh taun baru tu campur sup kerubong tekuyong kirah neh bakih, kenyang meh. Cheers.
Ngulit meh sida gomen saban saritu – nadai bunus baka ke taun kemari tadi. Nadai insol amai ga nya. Amat endar ga munyi ku Igat RS datas nya. Brand aja ga bisi. Tang pemutus ke nadai bunus nya meh ke ngamatka rambai jaku, IMalaysia. Semua bela ampit utai ke manah, utai ke jai.
Enti ka ngiga utai ke manah…..CHANGE WE MUST….ga Igat.
Dalam bajet 2010, nama program perintah BN ngemansang ke Bansa Iban dalam:-
(a) politik – patut Bansa Iban nyadi Ketau Mneteri laban bansa kitai maioh agi ari bansa bukai di Sarawak,
(b) civil service – patut bansa Iban mayoh agi gawa ba perintah menua Sarawak laban bansa kitai maioh agi ari bansa bukai di Sarawak
(c)scholarship – patut bansa Iban maioh agi boleh scholarship ari bansa bukai laban bansa kitai maioh agi di Sarawak
Hopefully Budget 2010 is not just rebranding of previous one.Baka mank ti mabut bulu, tang agi manuk ti sama.
Gaga ga ninga bala kitai di Kapit din deka digaga ke jalai alun. Nyangka ulih ga nemuai ngagai bala kaban din jemah ila.
However, I’m not that optimistic laban janji perintah ngelama tu endang sigi di temu empa.Arap ke anang semina kena ngumpan bala kaban di Kapit awak ke ngundi be end maia election ti ka datai.
Enti baka selama, udah pengawa enselan menua ila, lipan enggau luri lalu kaput magang. Projek jalai alun tebengkalai laban enda chukup budget. Nganti budget 2011.
Well, just wait for end-result. Lalu sekali agi pesan ngagai bala di Kapit din, taja pan jalai alun deka digaga, tang anang sekali-kali ngundi BN.Ba mua sida padah ke ngundi BN tang lebuh maia ngundi, undi meh penyakal. Sida udah bula ke kitai pengelama 46 taun nya alai enda salah kita ngemula ke sida sekali tu aja.

What else to complain now that the BN gomen is helping us to realise the dream of Kapit people when the trunk road will be built linking Kapit to the rest of the world.
Huh! Geram amai ga ka ke Kapit kin. Semua bulu babas bisi; ikan empurau, ikan labang, semah,tengadak, enggau pekasam ikan, babi, salai nyumboh, jugam, beruang, munsang, beragok semua bisi dijual. Sida bukai, sida ke ukai asal ari Kapit ke baru datai ba Kapit, ke gian ka makai ikan sungai, aku ngajar kita anang kelalu bamak ga ka meli makai ikan baru ulih pukat, jala, taut. Enti baka ikan lajong ke dijual ba sebelah kili kia, nyau bau tai sium aku. Dipelaba aku, angka dumpan enggau tai ga ikan nya. Bisi ari kena gayang sida igat ke baka burong menaul. Kaban aku kala kena gayang meli ikan tengadak RM300 sekilo. Apo….nyau baka rega ikan empurau. Pab pen buka maya tengah ari raya, sida indai tuai ke sunyi ditinggalka sida Igat ngasu pen nyau baka jengkak tama pab. Iya ke bidik nyau sigi ka besatup enggau sida Apai Rock ke tengah tepesol ke menua nya. Ukai memain ga pemanchal sida enti duduk dimbai Indai belu. Mayuh macham utai ditegu, jari enda jenuh, mulut end ngetu nginsap tekuyong. Kasih ga bini kaban kena kempuk, kena jangkam Igat manchal. Nyau tetaing ga nyawa ditebah ba sebelah sadau, nyau out of pitching bisi meh didinga. Bangat enda nemu malu mantaika nyawa ke munyi hawong ke kena tangkup tachu nyiur.
Enti Kapit dah datai jalai, kasih meh sida perau seperis laban sida ke nepan pen nyau kurang ga. Pelaba aku, tentu mayuh seperis nya ka dijual ke menua Pilipin, Indon, Langkawi ila. Nadai ngawa ga, sida tau mupuk nyimpan duit, ngibai meli bas, teksi, teksi pribet etc.
My wife is equally excited. She promised to cut down on her make-up expenses so that we can save some money to buy second hand car. We are now thinking of what car to buy so that we can drive direct to our hometown Kapit from Sabah, Brunei, Lawas, Miri, Bintulu, Sibu & Kuching.

I also hope those DB from Simunjan & Lawas to also lay down your arm and return to the civil society.The BN gomen in its 2010 budget is also contructing trunk road in your area.Please I beg you not to be undully influence by falsehood of DB.

It would be good to have a TRUNK road to Kapit,it should be much easier and CHEAPER too for us to keep our members in Kapit informed.Maioh agi rumah panjai ulih digagai/ditiki maia bekempen ila.
DB keep on barking,Sarawak, especially Dayak areas are still not accessible.Opening Kapit Division with good road network will benefit the isolated and marginalised Dayaks.
DB Change we can & Change we MUST.Cheers.!!!

*Nadai budjet diberi ngagai “Dayak Chamber of Commerce” serta semua sida “veteran/ex-service, “persatuan” tauka kooperasi bansa Dayak ba menua Sarawak kena ngemasangka ekonomi bansa Dayak?
*Nadai budjet diberi kena meli “Fire Extinguishers” ngagai semua rumah panjai ba menua Sarawak?
*Nadai entu nyegala endar ga “peruntukannya” semina bisi diberi ngagai sida “bumiputra Malaya” tang peda aku nadai lalu ngagai bala “prebumi” ba Sabah/Sarawak?
*Nadai meda “elaun ubat” diberi ngagai urang miskin tauka urang ba rumahpanjai enti datai berubat ngagai sepital perintah deh?

*Enda alah dibeli sida kitai tu…auk diatu sida BN sedar penyalah diri 46 taun ngemulaka Sabah/Sarawak…bah ni budjet 18/20 poinnya enti amat ka nulong deh?
Aku tu ngarap cerita tu amat nyadi ukai semina manah dipeda mata tua aja….rumah kami ba ulu Pelagus din agi mayoh bedau datai jalai/api/ai/broadband/TV/Astro (24 jams) ba taun 2010… Pelaba aku enti nadai undi ari menua Sabah/Sarawak nadai sida BN bulih ngaga bugjetnya deh?
I’m NOT too sure how much would really/truly go to the project implementations where bansa Dayaks’ business communities and cooperatives can really benefits from those budgets? Bisi transperansi ka?
Auk…peda aku “Budget 2010″ still not attractive to bansa Dayak…..”Change We Must”!
Nadai bisi utai betul ke digaga perintah ba runding mabu DB tu. Enti polisi perintah semina digaga kena nguntung ka bala Dayak aja, enda favourism nama ia nya? Retinya perintah agi salah enti ia semina nguntung ka bala Dayak aja, enda beciping adat nama ia ngagai bansa bukai ke diau di menoa Malaysia tu?
Nama reti perfect gomen enti DB tu semina ngiga lebih tiap kali sida ia bejako? Remember DB is championing about perfect gomen. What is a perfect gomen if not about sacrifices own interest first just like a father in a family. Until when the gomen can protect the interest of the Dayaks through the affirmative action of NEP? They were given that privileges since the independence but most Dayaks take that for granted.
In DB blog here they acted like a children who want to be pampered? It’s time that BN gomen take all the right given to them afterall this DB never appreciated what the gomen has done for them.
As a farmer I am very appreciative of the BN goment initiative to set up 1Malaysia Retirement Scheme for self-employed & Dayaks farmers.
As the scheme is to be administered by EPF, we also enjoy the stable interest rate.I was told if we are to save RM100 every month, the gomen will also contribute5%. Meaning if I am to start contributing to the scheme now by the time I reached 55 or retirement age I would have an accumulated sum of RM40,000.00.in my account. Ya hoo.ho.oo ulih bebini dua iko tu!

Anang bangat manchal ga deh, maioh utai di tusi merok sida indai belu di Kapit. Pengawa sida indai belu ke pub nya patut di peda secara positif, laban ke enjoy ngirup Tiger, oranjebon, stout &….. Lalu mega sida ka ninga ka lagu iban release baru. Sida indai belu tu semampai lelak ngibun anak lenggau pengawa rumah. Nyaalai leboh malam sida ka enjoy baka sida apai rock.
Enti sema jalai udah datai di Kapit ba ka dijanji oleh PM dalam speech bajet semalam, nyamai meh kami di Kapit oleh ka Bintulu. Tang semina enda olih ke Sibu laban jalai digaga ari Ng Merit udahnya rembus ke Bintulu. Nya-alai income bandar sibu bisi kusut mimit. Nya kebuah Cina Foochow sibu enda senang ati meda jalai digawa ari Bintulu ke Kapit.
Nya aja wai sulu.
Bah nama bala DB tak ngenong baka empelekong mabuk ambuh, tak ngetu baka puyu mabuk keroh.
Nama utai ditanya utai dipinta kita agi deh? Anang irau, asoh sekula magang magang anak kita. Mayuh duit di beri perintah besai RM1.1 billions.Nama nadai sekula ba genturung pendiau kita tau anjung peminta diatu.

Nama penguntung kita ngelaban perintah madi? Perintah ke nulung kita maia besekula suba, bisi sekeda kita diau free di boarding school, free text book, free makai,belajar free laban nadai mayar school fee. Bisi sekeda bala kitanya DB diberi perintah sekula free sampai ngagai universiti. Badu sekula lalu diberi kerja nitih ke pemilih diri empu ga? Nama tulung agi dipinta kita ngagai perintah deh?
Udah diatu nyau sempama jako iban ” Baka kumang nupi sawa ” udah kita besai lalu bisi pelajar lalu deka ngelaban perintah. Tu utai salah ke dikerja kita DB tu. Bado agi kita nerus ke agenda ke enda mai penguntungnya.
Laban kita empu nemu penemu unggal kita PE nya empu sigi terang2 madah ke ia sigi tetap mantah sapa2 ke megai perintah, semina enda, enti ia empu bisi penuduk dalam perintah baru. Reti ia nya ia sigi semina ka ngolih ka diri ia empu aja dalam politik, tang aku sigi salute PE nya laban ia terang madah, enda bepampol baka sida DB bukai.

Taja pen ungkus kena ngaga jalai ka Kapit nya kena sangkung dalam Budget 2010, tau jalai nya bedau digaga,tau iya enda nyadi,tau iya enda tembu gaga sebedau Pilihanraya Sarawak taun 2011 tu lagi.
Tu tau tak semina janji BN aja. Kena nginti undi kita urang Kapit. Kena minta kita nyukung sida ba pilihanraya 2011 tu,…enti sida agi menang, digalau sida ke pilihanraya 2016….2021…!
Tau perati ke kitai janji tulung enggau pemansang be-ungkus RM800 juta(enti enda salah ingat aku) BN ngagai bala di Lubuk Antu….!!
Nya alai kitai patut ngena sistem baka C.O.D.,(CASH ON DELIVERY),kurang lebih reti nya: “MAYAR(ngena undi)LEBUH UDAH NERIMA(lebuh projek udah tembu gaga).” Seagi projek tauka utai ke dijanji BN bedau nyadi,bedau tembu gaga,bedau diberi…..anang guai ngundi sida.
BN dangle ‘carrots’(projek enggau tulung) ba mua kitai,kitai pen dangle undi ba mua sida.
When BN has promised but hasnt,delivered, it would be stupid to pay and continue paying for something that are just promises,election after election,isnt it!?

Enda ngutuk aku kebuah Yayasan Sarawak ke betuai ke Senator Datin Empiang enggai meri scholarship ngagai anak kitai dayaks. Kenu ko Senator ” Nama kebuah nganjung anak kitai dayak belajar ngagai University?, udah pandai lalu pulai lagi lalu ngelaban perintah” Bisi kala kita ninga penemu tu?
Siti agi polisi perintah ke pamadu manah ba budget 2010 ianya 1Malaysia Retirement Scheme.
Bala DB ke enda lama agi pichin baka MT, PE, CI,tauka urang bumai John Jamban anggau changop tau di perening scheme tu. Enti nuan nyimpan RM1000.00 sebulan dia perintah ka nambah 5% lalu di beri EPF anak agi…besai untung ia.Enda suntuk kitai udah pinchin ila.
Tang ingat, enti perintah BN tumbang kada enda angus duit kita nya. Nya alai sama sama meh kitai ngetan ke “belaburan” kitai. Nya kebuah kitai patut nyukong lalu taluk ke perintah BN kitai.
Nadai kala meda urang ka BANGKAK baka nuan dayaklama. Palaba aku nuan tuk meh ngasuh bansa dayak tuk bangkak, udah nya buta enda nemu utai gelama tuk nitih ka penemu nuan tadi. Meri nembiak skula sigi “responsiblity” sapa-sapa ka nyadi printah.
Enti aku mpu nyadi printah pan sigi aku meri nembiak skula tingi2 awak ka mayuh penemu agi. Nuan tuk suba apai ngau indai nuan ngasuh skula, nuan enda datai skula palaba aku, belalai ba kebun getah urang. Udah nya maya presa nipu. Nuan pass presa madah dirik mpu landik maya skula. Nuan tuk semina mai bansa dayak nyadi bansa ka nadai penemu.
Nadai nemu reti demokrasi, nadai nemu reti ‘responsibility’…sebaka meh nuan ngau empiang nya tadi, belat ka sama bangkak… cina nulong ka bansa sida, melayu nulong ka bansa sida, melanau nulong ka bansa sida, india pan nulong bansa sida.. kitai mpu dayak ka enggai nulong bansa kitai mpu. Enti enggai meri scholarship ngagai bansa dayak manah di tutup aja yayasan sarawak. nadai guna skali.
As expected not everybody is happy with the National Budget 2010. But I must say the group who should rejoice is the DayakBaru.
PM announced the formulation of Whistle Blower Act, the move which is to provide immunity to informers from civil or criminal charges. It’s measures taken to eliminate corruption & power abuses.
I suppose some DB should consider taking up whistle blowing as a part time profession as DB seemed to know a lot about corrupt practices/power abuses by the BN gomen or officials.
I really hope DB take up the challenge as informer to expose corrupt practices and other misconduct. Your service is not free after all, you will be rewarded handsomely. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Budget 2010:
1. Infra structure to build road Tatau-Kapit is Priority 8 or about in 2010 and may be done around 2015? For Kanowit – Kapit it is only planned for between 2015 – 2020…haiya have to wait…
2. The budget 2010 is a deficit budget (Expenditure of RM191 billion and Revenue of RM148 billion)…where to get the balance? from world bank?
3.No additional tax relief for your Children further education if going overseas… so have to use local education to uni level ..ha ha what to do?
4. Budget also indicates that average civil servant (1.2million nos)salary = RM35000.00 annually and private sector (11.0 million) = RM24000.00 annually. No wonder a lot of S’wakian work overseas.
5. In all these case inflation is not mentioned in the budget?

DL, anang irau ke aku nuan Bakih DL. Aku ulih ngidup kediri. Enti nadai jalai di menua Sarawak aku tau pegi ngagai menua ribai menua arab laban aku bisi pengelandik enggau peneleba gawa. Tang orang ke dikira aku nya bansa aku ke tinggal di menua ke nadai pemandai, ke abis tanah diambi kita ke bekuasa baka bala kitai ke di Kanawit, di Simanggang enggau menua bukai. Bansa tua di menua tu anang ke bisi tanah alai bumai alai bekebun, alai numbak ke bangkai alai bira pan tanah nadai. Nama penyadi deh DL? Ka jako ke setuju masok scheme di Kenowit ngambi ke bisi nerima duit. Tu nama penyadi bansa tua di menua tu parai dikemula ke sida Jabu sida Gramong deh??? Keparat menteri- Iban makai iban!!!!

Observations on Budget 2010

1. Petroleum is one of the main revenue for Fed government – about RM 20,776 Million, or 13.9% of the Total Fed Revenenu (RM 148,446 Million) – so why overall I sense Sabah and Sarawak is not getting as much Federal allocation as the Peninsular states ?
(The Kapit etc road is one of the significant allocation – but its only about 4% of the Petroleum revenue.)
2. Note that on Advancing Agriculture Sector -that the agencies mention – FELDA,FAMA,RISDA,FELCRA – are mostly active in Peninsular. And point to note that RM 170 million is allocated to Fisherman. So really, there is very little Federal programme for advancing agriculture sector in Sabah and Sarawak.
3.When reading the section on Green Energy, I had expected to read incentives for companies to develop and manufacture alternative energy in SCORE, or for companies to get incentives to manufacture solar cell, battery, diesel fuel etc.
Bottomline: not much for Sarawak/Sabah here.
4. Income tax deduction reduce by 1% and personal relief increase by RM 1K – is not bad. But – I had hope for things like micro-credit, and low interest, loan for NCR land owners to develop their land.
5. Low cost housing, priced at about 21,500 to 35,000 by DBKL and JPN : I had hope for soft loans and grants for longhouse folks to build more sturdy, and fire-proof house.
6. RM 3 billion 1Malaysia Sukuk Government Bond issue, with a 3 year maturity at 3% quarterly sounds impressive. More impressive – is that it will be used to raise funds for Govt.
Overall: besides Kapit – which may finally get allocation for a road, not much for Sarawakian to be excited about.
I had hope for 1Malaysia to mean recognition that Sabah and Sarawak deserve more Federal fundings to advance the 2 states, toward socio-economic parity with Peninunsular over several years – but there was no such language. Even a statement of intent – would have made a big difference.
Will PR prepare a “shadow budget” – one that would address the wide disparity between Sabah/Sarawak with Peninsular ?

The budget is very good, well balance and really care for the people. It’s a budget for the people. Form years to years and every years, the budget is always good for the rayat. It’s always the best budget for the current year. So, what is there to complain. The government has done and is always doing the best for the people. To achieve the best, we must always maintain the old cocks at the the top until they really cannot be a manok jagau under the longhouse or langkau kebun manok. No point feeding the government servants with bonuses. These money are for the poor people. The government servants are well off, every month terima gaji, makai gaji buta, contribute minimal to their work, or be unproductive or just pretend. So, the PM may not want to give his best for them. The government servants in the high ranks pay much tax. In many cases, some of them only receive eleven months salary per year. One month or more is for the tax. That’s a bit disgusting.

A very condensed eye-opening comment by Seliong Wau regarding the 2010 Budget.His good analysis reflects his wide knowledge about the subject.
We hope that our rural areas will get their dues within the specified period.We do know at times the allocations can be diverted as well postponed to later dates.Often the monies were spent elsewhere depending on those in control of The State Unit or the CM’s Office.
We have seen how the allocation for Bau District Hospital was diverted to Betong instead.So the priorities were decided by tose in the corridor of power and not according to the real priorities.
It should be interesting as to how much can we the common citizens of the country can be ‘eyes and ears’ to monitoring the KPI.

You got a point there – on diversion of budget item at state spending level: but presumably the BAU political figure had agreed – or traded it for other allocation, with his Betong counterpart(for better or for worse).
Also: where the budget item is not detail enough, e.g where it mention “rural”, one can’t assume it to mean rural Sarawak. One can hope: but I like to err on the conservative side – and not jumping to conclusion.Details should come out soon enough.At any rate, Sarawak MPs – is expected to clamour for a piece of the action for their constituencies. Thats what they were elected to do.
The KPI bit – it remains to be seen how wide and deep the Federal dept, basically an implementation watchdog will be, at State level. Also it remains to be seen, how it would deal with politicking activity affecting Federal activities on the ground. Good intention: worth the wait and deserve some moral support.
Finally – as mention in earlier posting, like previous PMs before him, PM Najib still does not acknowledge the need to redress socio-economic disparity between Peninsula and Sabah/Sarawak, using statement to indicate strategic intent, if not providing actual evidence of progress and milestones toward such objective – in the annual budget presentation.

It seems that the DB Group is having a very shallow understanding of 2010 budget especially on the Development Budget. Your expert Seliong ak Wau is sounded very theoretical, because he has no experience as an implementer like the BN machineries.
Normally the Development Budget which forms the large chunk, is obtained mostly by soft loan from Asian Development Bank, and also some Japanese banks. The implementation must be focussed and must not be deviated from its original allocation.
Off course we need cooperation from DB group not to instigate people rejecting the gov’t project. In places, some of the Jalan Kampung project could not take off because the people refused to let their land for the project, after their mind poisoned by DB.
If the DB group is not changing their present mindset and propagate anti-development, the dayak will still forever behind other races in Malaysia.

Thus I have to advise clients on tax, insurance, investment, inheritance (estate planning), and retirement planning. As, RP said, 2009 budget has been tabled and nothing is extra ordinary rather there is a promised-budget (Unclear and no concrete plan/budget) to cover the old promises such as Road to Kapit which was shall completed 10 years ago during logging industry at Kapit in a high capacity.
The budget to table the development of East Malaysia to make it more faster develop the same level with West Malaysia is not appeared yet. This is the budget and Malaysian Master Plan the Sarawakian shall proud of, but unluckly not in the Najib table yet.

I really2 agree with you Iban Abroad. That why my friends from kelantan said, Najib budget is just a sweets and sugar for election. I heard about this road project (Kapit road) since 10 years ago. until now nothing happened. For 5 years i live in kapit for a work purpose and we can see mostly the dayak there is still poor and i can feel such we live caobodia or myanmar.

Reading through the pages of The Borneo Post,I’d like to draw your attention first to Page 1.The subject was ‘shoddy jobs draw criticism’ and our YB will write to the PM for constituencies’ own contractors be awarded projects. I can foresee that the problem of cronies will set in.An example of such abuse happened in Sri Aman sometime ago….bla.bla..you can read between the line please…..
‘Poor paymaster’ contractors may be blacklisted, appeared on Page 3 column 1. This problem is not strange to Sarawak,there are rumours that BIG TIME contractor is known for late payment for jobs done by his subcontractors. When approached for payment of the balance the BIG TOWKAY he will pay a small percentage ONLY and may even offer to pay with some ‘fruits’ in lieu..so do be careful when you deal with big towkays or else you get bananas.
Will hope to scroll through the pages and to share with DB some subjects which can be mindboggling ok.
Remember we always opt for CHANGE.

For Kapit trunk road – My Stand:
AS LONG AS I AM NOT DRIVING MY “KANCIL” FROM ANYWHERE TO KAPIT TOWN, I WILL NOT BELIEVE ANY PROMISE ANYMORE FROM BN.
This is becasue so much promises already there for us Kapit folks made by BN. We were “bullshit” by BN Government for so many times and years (46 years now).
Enough is enough promises for us. NO MORE CHANCE FOR BN TO AIR ANY PROMISE ANY MORE. Work the promise until I drive my “kancil” either from Sibu or Bintulu to Kapit town.
