SG amatnya y.Semua tok ulih diadu sekira semua ‘yang bula’nda nyadi’yang beli’,'yang amat mapap’.bala “yang bula” bansa kitai sg megai title bula sampai parai.peda dalam parlimen begap2 baka ikan betuk mulut sida,peli2 baka empelasi nya tanda beli.duduk canguk2 nda nemu bejako.Nadai apap megai bansa SEA DAYAK raja berani konon,bah kini kepemerani sidak ia.bepantang bejarau tp jugau!.Nyadi wakil rakyat konon…tapi makai rakyat.anang ka menunutut hak kitai…sida ke wakil rakyatnya ga makai kitai.Nya kebuah kitai jampat parai ketegal orgke bk sida yang bula,yang beli tok…Bakani ka pecaya ke perintah y,uji perati ka kitak semua ooooo ak iban,buka mata besai2,ketegal semua kitak ti senurut org aja bansa kitai tok tengelam

Aku amat nyukong penemu bala ti amat berani baka RENTAP ti deka meda bansa kitai IBAN mansang sekula/pelajar. Sigi amat bansa kitai diatu udah deka di apus ka bansa bukai. Tang anang enda ingat kitai bisi TUHAN JESUS KRISTUS ti ulih nulong. Aku pecaya iya APAI ti cukup ninga lalu nyaut sampi kitai leboh anak IYA dalam penusah. Anang ngaku dulu alah sebedau datai ba adan. Bansa bukai semina menang ba dunya tu tang bisi agi dunya ti cukup manah udah nganti kitai ti ngandal ka pengarap ba TUHAN JESUS ti Raja segala Raja. Marina Ak Undau, it is simple for you if you are really bright. Entering matriculation or going to form six sama sahaja. Pass your STPM with excellent results and be the top 30 in the country and the government will send you overseas to study- you may enter Havard , Oxford etc. No big deal though local matic is another option. Study hard and score 5As in your STPM.

You can say whatever you want to say. I have my share of hardships before, during and after my scholarship interview. My parents were both living with just ONE kidney each. Family kami kala sampai tahap nadai beras nadai lauk diempa. I’ve been there, done that. My study years were hell. Aku kala nyepi penusah, enti enda pia enda ku ka kiruh ke bansa kitai empu serta pengidup orang bukai. Diatu aku udah nyamai, nama salah aku ka nulong bansa ku empu? Don’t you think I deserved all the good things given by God to me? Success doesn’t come easily to me.

The difference between you and Marina is simple. She deserves to be assisted by the Government, demands that are based on merit. But as the Government claims that Marina Undau is a PENDATANG and apparently YOU a NATIVE, then that means an Iban like Marina, in fact all Ibans like Marina, are PENDATANG too. That is what the Government is saying. I mean if you can read, I am certain you won’t find the word IBAN in the Constitution. Endak pia? So are you DAYAK LAUT or are you IBAN PENDATANG?? Tell me which is it???? Since you claim to be so clever.

As for your experiences, recognize this, your experience is entirely different to that of Marina. And let me reassure you, Marina is in a world of hurt, emotional and legal pain that she must endure for the rest of her natural life, something which you cannot possibly begin to understand. So, your apology is accepted, Mr All Rounder.

I’m not saying I’m any better than Marina. I’m not sombong, and I’m not bodoh. All I’m doing is to share my experience. Are you trying to tell people by sharing our knowledge and experience is to show off? Only you can voice your opinion? I am concerned about things that happened to people like Marina. Nama salah aku bekungsi ke penemu awak ke orang Iban nemu keni ka ngatur anak sida enti ka nurun interview minta scholarship tauka minta kerja ila? Aku ngena chuntoh pengidup aku empu ngambi ke kitak nemu nama utai ke digiga interviewer. Moreover, friends whom have seeked my advice before attending their interview got through it. To be honest enggau nuan (Modern Iban Prototype No 1), course aku nya diatu makin kurang bansa bukai, bansa sida Melayu ke majak mayuh. Salah kah aku nulong meri hints ngagai bansa kitai nama utai ke digiga orang maia kitai memohon masuk ke universiti? In fact, in real life, I pay more attention to the Dayaks in my daily work because I want to see them become successful in their life like other races. Enti macha jako nuan ba atas nya, it seems like you’re the one who think too highly of yourself. You’re like the Iban politicians, attacking your own people. Be more positive about what people are saying even nuan enda puas ati tegal penusah ke ninggang bansa nuan empu. Belajar overseas or local, enti penemu kitai enda dikungsi enggau orang pan nadai guna. Anyway, I apologize to everyone for whatever I mentioned here. If according to what Modern Iban Prototype No 1 says, semua kitai ke graduate ari local universities tu nadai guna, enda pandai baka sida ke graduate overseas, enda pia?

If you’re such an all rounder, ex student, what the hell are you doing in a local university anyway?? At least the Malays and Chinese are getting an all round education overseas, but you, you’re stuck in the country, and then you go about how lucky you are for being Chinese Iban?? Do you how arrogant you are now?? Do you realise what you’ve just wrote??? You’re effectively saying that a native girl like Marina, whose father is Iban, has less rights than you. I mean you are a piece of bodoh sombong. You deserve to be pulled down a peg or two.

I still don’t get it. How come my friends who are mixed Chinese-Orang Ulu could further their studies to Matriculation but Marina couldn’t? But nowadays, academic isn’t the only thing people will look into when come to selection. You’ve to be an all-rounder. You’ve to be good in extra curricular activities as well. I have heard many times Form 5 school leavers tried to apply the scholarship I was given but failed though they were very good in their studies. I found out these students were simply excelled in their studies but not in other things such as sports or leadership. When I went for my scholarship interview, other students had better result than mine. When we were asked to show our extra curricular certificates, those fellas only gave a few pieces but I gave the interviewers the whole file! They seemed to be very impressed and questioned a lot about the things I’d done in school. Besides, from my experience of applying a few scholarships, the interviewers were also interested with those who were fluent and able to communicate in many languages, which I didn’t have any problem at all! So, I guess they are a lot of factors we need to consider in Marina’s case. I hope by sharing my experience, it’ll help others to see this matter from many angles and to help you to prepare your children for the future possibilities.

Nadai bansa kita Dayak,cina tauka tambi ulh enchelak ka mata……….Tu dunya laut, enti sema kita samoa ukai ngena AK/AL/FONG SAI YOK ba kad pengelala nyangka ulh kitai tuchum mimit. Sema nuan berunding kitai makai jani, sembiang nyangka sbln 1 tauka 2 kali tua datai ba gereja. Tang sida laut 5 kali sembiang sari endang sigi kitai alah…..Aku maioh udah berati ka samoa pengawa di Malaysia tu…nadai bansa kitai Iban bc megai pengawa ka besai……..uji kitai meda ba Sarawak Tai Mahmud megai kitai……….Bc suba bansa kitai ti tau mechah sereta mai kitai bansa Dayak tu tapi diatu mulut iya udah disumbat enggau duit ringgit nyau lalu nadai bemunyi agi meh sampai ka diatu……..

Unggal TL,

Bisi ga pengamat utai ke dikenang nuannya unggal. Simple logic, enti nyema udok kampung lusong tadi nyaru udok German Sheperd, anak seduai nya tadi tentu nyadi cross-breed. Enggai nyadi anak udok nya tadi dikumbai pure-breed neh bakih. Bakanya ga kitai mensia.

Bisi meh kabuah sida ke dulu menya ngadu ka constitution bakanya. Tang munyi ko orang “cinta itu buta”, munyi ko lagu Jeffry Molly, “enti pengerindu udah beserangan”, dini nya ulih ngira bansa agi. Utai ke dibaroh nya ukai nemu berunding bakih, majak ka penemu iya aja.

Pedis amat pala berunding ka pekara tu bakih. Ngirup ai ijok dulu manah agi. Lama enda palau.

Igat Tembawai Lama, kati ka bala sida enda jadi ke indu china indu tambi indu ribai deh ga enggi sida tu nyamai agi, enda bau tengong ( pelaba ke???). Ka jadi ke indu iban tang bala indu iban tak berebut enggai. Peda nuan anak bala sida DL jai pan gamal laki ka meh sida ke indu asal ga enda jadi ke lelaki iban. Nama enda bansa anak sida tu ila kini? Mesti nadai ‘anak’ agi dalam nama sida??

Manah agi kitai bepegai ka constitution, anang berganjak. Semina pure breed native oleh nyadi bumi. Anak campur/penakan endang enda layak.

Orang tuai kelia baka sida Tun Jugah, Penghulu Abok sigi orang ke bepandang jauh lalu nemu utai ke patut nyadi bumiputera.

Nya kebuah kita ka jadi enggau Indu Cina & tambi? Enti kita jadi enggau land dayak, sea dayak, kenyah, kayan enggau ukit nadai utai tu nyadi bakanya.

Kita nemu nukar constitution amat tusah. Nadai jalai sekali baka maia diatu laban parti penyakal udah maioh ari satu pertiga.

Ex Student,

That is why I still insist it is an official blunder rather than constitutional. It is the officer’s own interpretation. How come the older sister in USM is recognise as a Bumiputra, while she is not recognise as Bumiputra?

To change the constitution take times and must get the nod of 2/3 of the Parliment. But when it concern education, we just cannot wait. Once you miss the boat, you will left behind. No second chance.

There got to be some other faster alternative such as simple official recognition while waiting for the constitutional changes. Maybe the Home Ministry is the right authority to preside and decide on this matter.

Funny huh! Guess what, when I went for my scholarship interview, the first thing the Education Officer asked me “You said you are mixed Chinese-Iban. Nuan nemu jako Iban ke enda?” So, I answered him, “Nemu!”. Not long after that, I received the scholarship and to my surprise, my status in the university was categorized as BUMIPUTRA SARAWAK though I carried only a Chinese surname. In my case, both my grandpas are Chinese and both my grandmas are Ibans. By right I should be a Chinese. If West Malaysia public university can accept me as Bumiputra Sarawak, why can’t a local education office accept a girl of an Iban father as anak Iban? My friends were even better, their fathers were Chinese but their mothers were Orang Ulu, and they were not only carrying Chinese surnames, they also have Chinese names! But you know what, they were also categorized as BUMIPUTRA SARAWAK in my university! Even funnier, my friends could not speak a single word of any Chinese Language. At least I can speak Mandarin as my parents insisted me to study in a Chinese primary school. In my personal opinion, this is an issue of subtle discrimination that prolonged for many generations. Someone has to step up and bring this matter to the public’s attention. When it’s public, our YBs have no choice but to act! This is about the Sarawakians future and it shouldn’t be swept under the carpet.
