THOUGHTS ON ALCOHOLICS

The beauty of alcohol is it breeds fantasy,
but the truth comes once the effects are gone.
The same thing goes to your consciousness
                    and wisdom.
As you travel deep into your fantasy,
your money runs dry. Your child and wife begin to cry, as you behave as if you are going to die,
Alcohol guaranteees laughters, but it does not guarantee financial freedom,
Heavy drinkers in this forum can be easily recognized, through their words and negative stubborness.
Drinking is good when it is controlled. Drinking is completely destructive once you have lost self-control.
Of all the thoughts, one thing for sure, drinking alcohol has never been recognized as a problem solver.
If drinking is meant to get words to talk, it means that you will forever depend on alcohol for words. If drinking is a license to get friends, you will be forever surrounded by sweet talkers, drunkards, short-minded, hot-tempered and immature persons. If drinking is considered as an ice-breaker, it will definitely ends with a home-breaker.
I am not against drinking as long our child's education tops the list. Better education means a better way of drinking culture. Don't try to relate the WHITE MEN ON THEIR DRINKING HABIT. We should have done better. Good luck.

<strong>Unggal John Jambang/ Temawai Lama</strong>

<em>This is my thought: Faith is about "Believing Is Seeing"</em>

<strong>FAITH IS BELIEVING WITHOUT SEEING </strong>

From all the different communications I have received lately it seems like people are greatly confused about what happens after death and/or evolution. Everyone has a different belief and we are all right and we are all wrong.

To understand spirituality is like trying to encompass the ocean in a cup. You can't teach a baby algebra and for us to understand and comprehend spirituality is about the same.

We're like babies in that we don't know all the answers. Many people cling to beliefs and yet no one knows exactly what it's like to be on the other side until you are there.

This is where faith comes in; <strong>“Faith is Believing without Seeing”</strong>. I know that there is life after death and we just have to believe in it and we will eventually be in Spirit and see it firsthand.

It does not matter what your beliefs are or what term you use for God, the Great Spirit, the Lord Almighty, Allah Taala or whatever, they all lead to the Divine.

It is an act of will - a decision, that's all - that starts a person on the mystic path of being one with the Divine Spirit. After that initiation, it is events of the person's life, and the "voice in your gut" that are the training, the lessons. Seeing a pattern in the events of your life is seeing your path.

The focus of your path is what you do, not what you believe: God wants you to think or believe in whatever motivates you ahead in your growth. (It's not the dogma, it's the doing.) Ignored lessons recur in ever harsher more obvious forms!

Transmuting the self-interest is enlightenment, is a victory for light over darkness to you; and to God it is His cleaner house. As time and events go by, you become less focused on your physical life and are more "out there" in your perspective.

A lot of your work in this dimension and on this planet is done in the nonphysical realms in your sleep. At some point you are trained by the events of your life to accomplish and support events God wills, sometimes by channeling them.

You get to keep some of the talents you develop in the endeavor of supporting or accomplishing the events God wills. Psychic insight is often one of those abilities you keep.

Gradually your will (your willpower) is becoming God's will as you and God become one; and God's will is almighty . . . because He has His finger on the triggers of coincidence . . . so you gradually become able to make things happen.

You create events non-physically. This is the great spiritual truth and is The Great Work, the Mystery. Being one with the Divine Spirit and giving up the petty part of your individuality is a net gain.

<strong>Faith - Believing Is Seeing</strong>

Most of the time you hear, "Seeing is believing". But I think that the opposite, <strong>"Believing is Seeing"</strong>, is really a much more important rule to live by.

I do pride myself in the fact that I do have faith. I do know that I create my own life. I am able to manifest into my life the things that I need and want, even when it seems that there is no way it can possibly happen.

So what happens when you find yourself lacking in belief? How do you rid yourself of the little doubts and fears that tend to creep up into your mind?

<strong>Believing is Seeing</strong>

What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead" (Hebrews 11:1 TLB).

Romans 1:17 is a capsule summary of Paul's message to the Romans; it changed Martin Luther's life and ours, as well: "For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: `The righteous will live by faith'."

Lauterbach quotes Luther as saying, "When I learned that the righteousness of God is his mercy, and that he makes us righteous through it, a remedy was offered to me in my affliction" (Luther's Works, volume 54, Table Talk). "Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to Thy cross I cling."

We can give nothing to God but our faith, but what a joy it is to know that He gives us His all. "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace..." (Romans 5:1).

Even though we cannot see the future, we are assured that it is in God's capable hands and heart. What a blessing this is! It is here on this ground of hope that we build our justified life; it is here on earth that we frame a foundation of a faith finally worthy of the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God (Hebrews 11:10).

We don't build our life in blind faith, but in complete confidence in God's integrity. It saves us many heartaches and headaches. Harry Emerson Fosdick said, "It is cynicism and fear that freeze life; it is faith that thaws it out, releases it, sets it free".

A man who had endured much trouble in his life was asked by a friend, "How is the outlook?" The man answered, "The outlook is dark, but the uplook is wonderful". Peter Boehler is said to have advised John Wesley, "Live by faith till you have faith".

The world says, "Seeing is believing." Christ says, <strong>"Believing is seeing"</strong>. Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." 2 Corinthians. 4:18: "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal".

<strong>Seeing what you may Believe</strong>

<em>Create a crystal-clear vision</em>

It is a very important first step in this process. What exactly do you want? If what you want constantly changes, how is the universe ever going to bring it to you? It's like constantly changing your order at a restaurant. If you keep changing, your food is never going to come.

<em>Eliminate the doubts and fears</em>

If you find doubt and fear creeping into your mind, acknowledge that you have a belief in place. This belief is sabotaging your manifesting success. You need to eliminate this belief. The technique that I like to use with my clients is called EFT. It completely dissolves negative emotions and beliefs.

<em>Let go of the outcome</em>

I know that this step is hard to do. You need to stop thinking of HOW your desire is going to manifest. You don't know the best way, but the universe does. Allow the universe to do its job.

<em>Take action on the opportunities</em>

I think that this is the step that most people forget. It is easy to sit on the couch and dream about all of the things that you want. It is easy to make a vision board and meditate. BUT, the universe will be bringing you the way for you to have what you want, and you just need to take action. Step out of your comfort zone and as ones may says, "Just Do It!"

<em><strong>I always have FAITH in God: God is Love. God is Just. God is Good. God is Kind, Amen!</strong></em>

<strong>This song for you: “Faith”</strong>

The focus of your path is what you do, not what you believe: God wants you to think or believe in whatever motivates you ahead in your growth. (It’s not the dogma, it’s the doing.) Ignored lessons recur in ever harsher more obvious forms!

Transmuting the self-interest is enlightenment, is a victory for light over darkness to you; and to God it is His cleaner house. As time and events go by, you become less focused on your physical life and are more “out there” in your perspective.

Gradually your will (your willpower) is becoming God’s will as you and God become one; and God’s will is almighty . . . because He has His finger on the triggers of coincidence . . . so you gradually become able to make things happen.

You create events non-physically. This is the great spiritual truth and is The Great Work, the Mystery. Being one with the Divine Spirit and giving up the petty part of your individuality is a net gain.

Faith – Believing Is Seeing

Most of the time you hear, “Seeing is believing”. But I think that the opposite, “Believing is Seeing”, is really a much more important rule to live by.

Believing is Seeing

What is faith? It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead” (Hebrews 11:1 TLB).

Romans 1:17 is a capsule summary of Paul’s message to the Romans; it changed Martin Luther’s life and ours, as well: “For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: `The righteous will live by faith’.”

Lauterbach quotes Luther as saying, “When I learned that the righteousness of God is his mercy, and that he makes us righteous through it, a remedy was offered to me in my affliction” (Luther’s Works, volume 54, Table Talk). “Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to Thy cross I cling.”

We can give nothing to God but our faith, but what a joy it is to know that He gives us His all. “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace…” (Romans 5:1).

Even though we cannot see the future, we are assured that it is in God’s capable hands and heart. What a blessing this is! It is here on this ground of hope that we build our justified life; it is here on earth that we frame a foundation of a faith finally worthy of the city that has foundations, whose architect and builder is God (Hebrews 11:10).

We don’t build our life in blind faith, but in complete confidence in God’s integrity. It saves us many heartaches and headaches. Harry Emerson Fosdick said, “It is cynicism and fear that freeze life; it is faith that thaws it out, releases it, sets it free”.

A man who had endured much trouble in his life was asked by a friend, “How is the outlook?” The man answered, “The outlook is dark, but the uplook is wonderful”. Peter Boehler is said to have advised John Wesley, “Live by faith till you have faith”.

The world says, “Seeing is believing.” Christ says, “Believing is seeing”. Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” 2 Corinthians. 4:18: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal”.

Seeing what you may Believe

Create a crystal-clear vision

It is a very important first step in this process. What exactly do you want? If what you want constantly changes, how is the universe ever going to bring it to you? It’s like constantly changing your order at a restaurant. If you keep changing, your food is never going to come.

Eliminate the doubts and fears

If you find doubt and fear creeping into your mind, acknowledge that you have a belief in place. This belief is sabotaging your manifesting success. You need to eliminate this belief. The technique that I like to use with my clients is called EFT. It completely dissolves negative emotions and beliefs.

Let go of the outcome

I know that this step is hard to do. You need to stop thinking of HOW your desire is going to manifest. You don’t know the best way, but the universe does. Allow the universe to do its job.

Take action on the opportunities

I think that this is the step that most people forget. It is easy to sit on the couch and dream about all of the things that you want. It is easy to make a vision board and meditate. BUT, the universe will be bringing you the way for you to have what you want, and you just need to take action. Step out of your comfort zone and as ones may says, “Just Do It!”

I always have FAITH in God: God is Love. God is Just. God is Good. God is Kind, Amen!

This song for you: “Faith”

So much of comments; some are productive but some are way out of topic. Yet, mostly polluted with political agenda. Can we not spare sometimes to share some input on social development together?

This is my story that has gone history. I started drinking because of insecurity:

Alcohol enabled me to relax and to feel comfortable in social situations and in the early years alcohol was a source of great enjoyment.

As the years passed however alcohol started to wreak havoc in my personal relationships and started to effect my health, I would start drinking first thing in the morning and would continue to do so throughout each day.

Then one day I decided to break the cycle of addiction and stopped drinking, after two years of abstinence (without a relapse) I am confident that I will never drink again.

I gave up drinking because I was sick (twice admitted to hospital and I was diagnose of having serious gastric ulcer) of the way it was affecting my life alcohol had made me a drifter, I was unable to commit myself to anything, my relationships failed, I had little direction in life and it took me a while to finally able to accept that I had a problem.

Alcohol messes with your mind and if you are constantly under its influence you cannot see the problem and you remain in a state of denial.

As soon as you can admit that you are an alcoholic you are in a powerful position, because you are ready to do something about it. I'm not a state of denialability here.

It's scary though, because you are about to give up something you will never be able to do again. If you return to drink because you believe you can handle it, you'll be back to your old ways in no time.

Once you give up it has to be final, you have to make the decision to change and it may feel like the hardest thing you have ever done, but you can do it!

Before you do anything else pay a visit to your physician and get all the help, advice and medication that they can give you. If you are a chronic alcoholic like I was, it is essential to do this as withdrawal can be fatal.

When you stop drinking take vitamin supplements and keep a healthy diet, also get as active as you can. Meditation can be very helpful and it made giving up a lot easier for me, also joining the gym was a great choice too.

Think about getting through each day without a drink and make yourself some goals to aspire to. Never forget why you gave up drinking in the first place and pin up some reasons to remind yourself why you did where you can see them regularly.

Keep a diary and write about each day you spend without alcohol and the challenges you face, it can be very therapeutic and can make you aware of the triggers which make you want drink.

Maybe start a blog and/or write about your experiences, the thought that you are helping other people will make you feel good too.

If you really want to quit you will be able to, I am a living example of that.

<strong>Remember</strong>, I won't force you nor ask you to stop because I don't own your life. Its only you who know best and I'm just giving my personal piece of advice here. Enti bisi salah jako minta ampun dulu meh. Thank you.

Hello Friends,

A lot of argument on bumiputera status here, while others come to the point of interpreting Federal constitution more than the lawyer.

Tamawai Lama did stress this point: UPHOLD THE FEDERAL CONST..ONLY PURE BREED NATIVE ENTITLED THE BUMI STATUS. I strong agreed to this.

I salute Tun Jugah, Abang Hipni, Ling Beng Siong, Pengarah Banyang who among those advised that state govt on the strict provision of the bumi status at taht material time. NO PLACE FOR ANAK CAMPUR/KACUKAN/PENEKAN FOR BUMI STATUS.

What say you DB. Are going to capitalise this issue?. How are you about to bring more benefit to natives on their NCR Land if you agree to accept mixed breed native to BUMI STATUS. I WANT YOU TO STATE YOUR OPINION ON THIS MATTER.

NYA AJA ..BYE2 KABAN

Unggal John Jamban,

I think you're way out of the original topic here. Unggal gkm2020 was talking about "Rethinking our 'Palau' culture" and he even explains the pros and cons of alcoholism awareness for our Dayaks. Isn't it a good article?

Yet, you're calling someone else a "moron" and your so called topic is already out of agenda "EVOLUTION VS CREATION". I see gkm2020 has never mentioned of such subject? Its puzzle me too. Unless this topic is a "moron" article for Dayak then you're a moron too! Isn't it?

“DON’T ACT SMART IF YOU ARE MORON”

This phrase, usually accompanied with an offensive tone, a facial expression that screams "disdain" towards the other person, and an emphasis on the word your, immediately sets up a "me vs. you" dynamic instead of the mutual concern/"we're in this together" feel needed to calm the individual.

The other problem is that this phrase points to the person as the source of what ever is wrong which almost always leads to that person feeling the need to defend his or herself. Instead try using "What's wrong" or "What's the matter?"

These phrases communicate empathy and concern and will help the person begin to deal with the problem without provoking them. Just be careful not to get pulled into their frustration with them.

What a “Moron" is right!.... You don't jump into someone else's number just because you're 'feeling such a looser'....

A logical thinker is someone who uses reason to understand conception formed, got to look down on everyone else is because you think so highly of yourself.... He's called a moron and stupid and he doesn't understand why he's sub par. “Moron” doesn’t motivate others but him/herself.

Let me quote you this words from a book: “Calling someone else a moron, and you try to get on the bus ... you actually like this person and don't want a relationship with a moron ... moron with his/her children and it appears that the kids are becoming morons too....”

Obviously some one who knows too much about moron does not wish to be called a blithering idiot.
