BN State Government suppressing Dayak in Belaga

Demolition Order

1. Everyone knows that there was news that the Land and Survey enforcement personnel and the police (to safeguard public security) are suppose to demolish the houses and farmhuts of the Indigenous Peoples (Kayan Uma Apan, Kejaman Lasah, Kenyah Uma Sambop and others) on the Bakun-Belaga road, between 12-14/10/2009 but however the ‘barbaric act’ didnt materialize because of many interventions by some peoples who are concerned.

These (Indigenous People) IPs are living along the Bakun road which happened to pass through their longhouse territory. They built houses and farm huts on their own NCR land. These IPs have been occupied this place even before Brooke came to Borneo.

Without their prior knowledge and free consent their NCR lands had been leased to Shin Yang Sdn Bhd for Oil Palm plantation and Pusaka KTS for so called reforestation. Trust that our Almighty God will intervene in IPs’ struggle. Though the enforcement didnt turn up they might go again anytime as the place is already blacklisted by the Land & Survey.

Dear Dayaks do not take this news as something happens to somebody else but consider that you as Indigenous Peoples will surely GET IT ONE DAY too on your own land.

Notice To Quit

2. When the first NTQ (Notice To Quit) was sent to the Belaga and Tubau Indigenous Peoples in the year 2007, it was clearly made known by the Land & Survey superintendents of Kapit and Bintulu that the people behind the whole thing was PUSAKA KTS (the main shareholder is KTS, headed by Dato Henry Lau). The area that is affected is within the LPF(License for Planted Forest) of PUSAKA KTS. it is called LPF/0013 (covers Belaga & Tubau) which is partly a government project and therefore it seems that KTS is the company could be behind all this thing though they will deny it until ‘hari kiamat datang’.

This company is abusing its ’special position’ as business partner(or main contractor) of the State government to chase the Dayaks away from their own NCR land and the main stream of development as they are the one who owns this LPF from the state govenrment.

Injunction against the demolition

3. The longhouse (Uma Apan) that is affected had brought the matter to the High Court in Bintulu a year ago but somehow the community has lost their appeal IN THE HIGH COURT for the INJUNCTION against the demolition. I think the intended demolition was the result of the court case.

That is not all, it is generally known to many people that KTS is a company that takes thing personally upon itself and it is therefore revengeful company in that manner. In this case it is therefore not surprising that it takes upon itself this matter because the longhouse is headed by ALI BASAH who is a lawyer and had sued KTS in Bintulu’s high court. This same company has also cheated me nearly RM100,000 a year ago by not paying my contract work for about a year. So those of you who are living within the company license area(be it Tanam kayu, Logging or Oil Palm) better be careful because these “unnecessary & evil things” could also happen to you one day.

Our sacrifice to the nation is not appreciated

4. My questions are these: a) the Belaga peoples had sacrificed so much for the Nation in the Bakun Hydro but then why the State government is still doing this ’samseng act’ towards the poor Indigenous Peoples of Belaga? Is this a direct act of the GOVERNMENT or is the state government being forced to act on someone’s complaint or instruction? Worse still it seems that our poor two YBs, Datuk Billy Abit (MP) and Liwan Lagang (ADUN) seem not to know about this ‘barbaric act’ that was going to happen to their own people.So if they didnt respect our two ‘honorable YBs’ then what more to say you and me, who are we in their eyes?

b) This is some kind of selective ‘persecution’ because this longhouse has taken legal action against the company (PUSAKA KTS) and the state government. Why dont they demolish all the houses from Bintulu to Bakun Hydro then?

c) Belaga people, are you still “honour and respect” this kind of leadership around you or are you going to teach them a very good lesson this coming election?

d) Are the Indigenous Peoples in Belaga and Tubau are being bribed, cheated or badly in need of cash to buy ‘chap Apek’ without even thinking the future of their generations by not safeguarding their rights over the NCR land.

Dayaks need to be united against these suppression of our rights

5. I would like to appeal to each and everyone of you to offer your prayers and moral supports to our Indigenous communities who live within the license area of PUSAKA KTS or KTS for that matter, either you in Belaga or Tubau, Niah or Suai, Tatau or Sebauh, Tutoh or Apo. their ‘bad blood’ practice is all the same

The question now is SOMEONE FROM OUTSIDE (not of our race and not of our origin) is trying to take away our NCR land by force either it is illegal or immoral that doesnt matter to them because what they want is to chase the Indigenous peoples away from their own CUSTOMARY LAND by abusing the state BN who is in power now.

Those of you in BARAM especially in Sg. Tutoh and Sg. Apo, better be carefull and prepared now because this same company called Pusaka KTS will come and chase you one day. This happens all over Sarawak.

Keep your eyes open, your ears to listen, your head to think and your heart to discern what is right, what is proper, what is just, what is according to your customs and what is according to the law either locally or internationally especially the UNDRIP (United Nation Declaration on Rights of the Indigenous Peoples). Please read the UNDRIP if you are still new to it and apply it to your own community. Malaysia has rectified the Declaration.

6. Long Terawan folks demonstrated infront of PUSAKA KTS personnel during the signing of the agreement few months back. They didnt bother about you at all. They do the same everywhere. Why dont we try to ‘minum kopi free’ at any of the coffeeship in town see what happen.

7. Lastly, I wish to thank you all for your support and prayers in time of suffering and persecution as it is happening now and then among our communities.

Tu endang pengawa Charles Gau….this particular Urang Ulu NGO is under the opposition pay-roll, so what you expect?. Sida tu dibayar gaji leboh ke nyibar ke anti-BN propoganda.Kati alai iya enda nemu,munyi ke selalu di sebut DL for any form of development the gomen need lands, one cannot build clinic, school and other infrustructure on tree tops.

In this case the gomen acquired the land under section 47 authorsing the goment agency to acquire land to build school for the residents of Belaga.Charles Gau and DB please come to your sense. Building a school there is by no mean supressing the Dayaks in Belaga.

you need thousands of ha’s to build schools and clinics? amat tuyuk dik kih. s47 my cock. The issue here involves the state govt’s policy with regards to NCR land.I think i dont have to explain to you in detail because DL, nuan sigi mabok penemu to even understand what we Dayaks are so angry about.

Why is the state govt so reluctant to recognize native land? When youre developing thousands of ha’s for palm oil, is it really necessary to go ahead with the demolition immediately when you know there is a pending court case? Cant you wait for the court to decide?

These LPFs and PLs are systematically relinquishing NCR land owners of their land. FOR GENERATIONS to come, Dayaks will always remember how our YB’s and community leaders omit to all these attrocities. Kudos to all those who stand up with the defenceless against injustice and may God bless them with victory in the next state election.

DL clearly doesn’t understand what Gau is trying to say. Just shut up DL, nobody here feels the same as you do. Shut up and save yourself some dignity, you cockmunch.

Maybe it’s only me that see this, but as an observer I realise that:

Dayaklama is paid by Jabu and he has done a marvellous job in getting Dayaks to hate Jabu with his (Dayaklama’s) warped and twisted logic.

He thinks we are fools here to believe what he writes. Secondly his blind allegiance removes his mental faculty to be a decent human being. Thirdly his eyes are tinted; the 6/6 vison that God gave him has been replaced with the ringgit sign, so much so that he can’t differentiate politics from real issues. He never failed to politicalise any issue – a sure sign of insecurity (like Jabu).

If you read carefully, there seemed to be three brains behind Dayaklama – 3 people posting as Dayaklama. One an intellectual, one a bumbling fool as he is, another a sort of insecure personality. Or maybe there’s only one with multiple personalities – Dr Jekyll–Hyde syndrome. But all three personalities have one purpose; to make fun of people here. Wonderful synchronicity, sir.

I suppose that’s what we should treat him to be: the court jester of DayakBaru.com. (As long as he doesn’t ask for salaries from us, it’s all right).

How can we DB change that attitude amongst our Dayak as a whole? For me, I feel very sorry to our fellow Dayaks because it’s seem to me the strategy not working well… End result; They Still Vote For BN…

beyond my believed, that i never though for so long bcos it only happen in interior, that area from bintulu..kakus to ulu anap has been planted with acasia… along my 4 hrs drive through this timber road only acasia tree left and right aslong as our eye can see, that make me feel realy sick with this disaster..all the way to the upstream river of ulu anap area was acasia tree,..no such temuda, or pulau galau left, event some place it intrude to NCR land.The mighty river of Takan, tributary of SG Anap was bad poluted by this activities..no more semah or tengadak left there..

what a shame for for BN man deny the fact that our forrest was in badly managed by this greedy company..

Firstly, PKR leadership refused to change the party constitution recognizing the special position of Sabah and Sarawak (in Malaysia) by giving them autonomy to manage their political affairs and organization.

Secondly, the leadership at the PKR headquarters based in Selangor refused to allow the divisional delegates to choose the state leadership line-up .Appointment is sole discretionary of Anwar.

Thirdly, the party also refused to create a special committee to review, manage and implement the requirements of the 20-points/18-points agreements when Sabah/Sarawak joined the federation.

SO WHAT IS DB LOOKING FOR? Burn the bridge now before its too late.

This DB don’t know what are they doing may let the Dayaks suffer more. But before it’s too late they can frogged back to the BN as long as before the next general election. Their guilt is still pardonable before the set time frame.
So DB what else do you waiting for? Change now and change for good and abandon the sinking ship of PKR. Nothing much you can do as the opposition and if you in the gomen maybe BN will consider to appoint one of you as a senator just to overlook the NCR land issue.

Not exactly. For your kind information I am not under Tan Sri Datuk (Dr.) Patinggi Jabu anak Numpang’s pay- role as asserted. But as Ass. Secretary in his Ministry I am being paid by the state treasury, under the state Barisan National Government coffer.

Part of my duty is to ensure that only authorized person are allowed to see Yang Dikasihi. In the even DB wants to see him, they still have to get my approval. I will not normally entertain visitors coming in with neck name like LTT or MT and so on.

i am realy impressed with all your comments about what is happening in Belaga.As i am a native from Belaga itself and i am pretty sure those people out there must understand and firmly disagreed with BN gov. is doing to the Belaga people.once must know that Taib cronies is now brutally concurred every single piece of land in sarawak no matter NCR or whatsoever to be developed this perhaps make them more and more richer. whereby dayak remain the followers,even YB DJJM also agreed of the demolishing of this farmhuts. who can we trust now? our YB;s Are all corrupted. we will see the fall of BN GOV in Belaga this coming G.E. i will fight come DB you must help our native in Belaga.

If the BN really want to help the Dayaks, just survey the NCR land and give them title. Then when ever the government want to develop the land it should be paid accordingly not so cheap like what they pay to NCR land. Just that simple what we want but BN never want to hear what the rayat say. DJJM is the Land Minister, can’t he do just that to help the Dayak. Then certainly this issue will die off and more support for BN. Thats why Dayak are supporting PKR because PKR want to here what the rayat have to say and thats what Najib is trying to follow with his (satu Malaysia, Rayat di dahulu kan.) but till now this slogan is just a slogan, no change.

To tell the true story….

Once upon a time ago, I have a friend name Isik Utau.. I know him very well.. He’s studying in UPM last time to pursue a degree courses..
Actually, before that, he’s working with agriculture department as a AAO. You see, I know him quite well…

Why I am telling this on this blog?
Well, I’m sure that he is one of Dayaklama hardcore.. This type of person has a dream to become YB somewhere in Betong area because coincidently he’s come from Betong.. One time he told us that he want to replace Jabu as an ADUN.. Now what happen?
Jabu don’t want to entertain him anymore.. Instead of fielding him as a candidate in DUN, Jabu wanted his own son, Rentap to be the next ‘calon’…
I heard from my close friend that for now Isik become political secretary to CM.. He’s getting frustrated but nothing much he can do. He has to content with the order.. Now the political ambition flown just like that… One of a good examples for fallen Dayak..

I am sure that if he maintain and continue working with Agri Department until now, he will be one of senior AO in Sarawak.. He’s a good friend and leader but let down by political ambition.. Sad to say..

So, my kaban semua, this is a true story about one friend… Perhap this could be a good lesson for our Dayaklama counterparts…
Morale of the story is… don’t simply put your maximum trust to yours ‘yang dikasihi’.. History has proven it.. Come on kaban, Open Up Your Mind!!

Land grab is happening every where especially in 3rd world country,Vietnam, Cambodia,Thailand just to name a few. I didn’t know that this kind of business also happening on this freeland of ours.

Just to let you know…the Melanau-Foochow are great businessman. Ha hahaha.

Shin Yang run faster than the bull. In years to come half of the population of Sarawak will become his worker with RM15 per day. Just enough to fill our stomach.

The new concept of slavery just getting started, supported by capitalism. Pls join those capitalist of else you are born a loser.

NO wonder you could easily obtain the scholarship for your daughter to pursue her studies majoring in Medicine in a University in Russia. I guess you must have use a bit of personal influence to provide scholarship to your daughter through your close association with TS Jabu. Is this not a kind of cronyism we have been talking about.

Sate govt money is not the BN money. It is part of income tax that i have paid all this while. You are paid by us. Your daughter is also paid by us.

How many times do we have to tell you?. Building schools is part and parcel of the duties of the current govt for the rakyat. Building schools doe not need to be issued with PLs if not for the purpose of perpetuating land grabbing activities of NCR lands of the poorly organised Dayak propagated under the concept of POLITICS OF DEVELOPMENT in Belaga- Bakun area.
