SRI AMAN:
Sri Aman MP Masir Kujat has warned the people to be on the alert for certain quarters with hidden agendas that throw allegations and accusations against the government.
Poison people’s mind
He lambasted such individuals as irresponsible because they only aimed to spread negative information and “poison the mind of the people”.
Filter every message and information
“I hope the people would filter every message or information given by certain people who say bad things about the government,” he said on Saturday at the closing of a ‘Mesra Rakyat’ programme at Rumah Lanjau Manggas, Kampung Pantu organised by the Sri Aman Community Development Department (Kemas).
Liars – they are brainwashing the people
He said those who spread the message they would take over the reigns of power from the current govern-ment were merely liars.
“Their main purpose is to brainwash and confuse the people,” he stressed.
He said Sarawakians were mature enough to know which side could bring continuous development and improve their standard of living.
Stop Your Action – it is time wasting
“Therefore, I urge those people to stop their actions, which are a waste of time. Your efforts would not bear any fruit,” he said.
He urged Sarawakians to continue their support for the state Barisan Nasional (BN) government and not to be influenced by other parties.
$5,000 Allocation
Masir also allocated RM5,000 to the Village Secu-rity and Development Com-mittee (JKKK) of Kampung Pantu for next year.

How do you think such speech is of benefit to the Dayak?
Think of a better way to improve the mentality and quality thinking of the Dayak community. With such violent communication as expressed by the YB, do you really think that we can move forward to find solution to our Dayak problems.
Please be reminded – DO NOT go after YB Masir. You should go after the “approach” that is taken by the YB in helping the Dayak.
Could there be a better way or approach is my challenge to you.

Hello PE, CI and the rest of DB.
An old malay adage says ” Sapa yang makan cili, dia yang merasa pedas”. Apparently none of DB (including PE, CI, IA, Aya Bujang Tuai or Pala Tekura) is willing to commit or comment on Masir’s outburst above. Silence is consent…or are you admitting spreading negative information and “poison the mind of the people and dayks voters”?.
Dear friends,
The assistant minister had said well as a BN politician, so was Dr. JBA. Both are trying to explain their side of argument. Rightly, Dr. JBA said, “do not attack the assistant minister concerned but his approach”.
For those who know the constituency well and the people there, you are the ones to offer your service to comment constructively.
It is in fact your duties to voice out especially when you know the people are not happy with what that have been done for them by the government, despite their own efforts and hard work they put in.
Be fair and honest in putting forth your constructive comments.
You may look at the following:
a. Development of the areas in the past 20 years.
b. What are the projects implemented by the government.
c. Are there piped-water, electricity, telephone facilities? Are there good roads to the area, transportation such as buses, vans and lorries.
d. Are schools – their teachers, facilities and building standard on par with town and other schools.
e. Are there locals employed and work in government institutions, established in the area.
f. Are industies, such as mini-factories established, enabling the locals to seek jobs.
g. Are all the government institutions such as police station, clinic, agriculture, forest, welfare institutions or offices established to serve the people.
h. Are the people housing up to standard, comparable with those in Semenanjong and Sabah in a kampong or village setting.
i. Above all, have the people earned above the level of RM830.00, a month, the current acceptable level of income per family above the poverty line.
j. Others as you deem fit, such as the number of graduates, professionals (doctors, engineers, lawyers)teachers, nurses, police officers, army officers, SAO/DO, enterpreneurs, and so on produced in the area through government efforts.
Adopt a fair fight attitude.

Gomen politicians have to talk like that cos they knew well that tatic is always benefitial to them. People in Sarawak still have the tendency to obey their YBs speech and remarks. So,if DJB don’t want the Dayaks to be brainwashed with this type of speech, it is better to do more counter measures to neutralise such a shallow and narrow minded politick. This is a normal speech by any BN Ybs so nothing to worry about. Facts and factors should be clarified to testified.
The following are what the opposition need to neutralise cos this have always been the BN popular speches :
1: Opposition can only talk but no action.
2: Opposition can critise but no solution.
3: Opposition come out during election.
4: Opposition can promise but no development.
5: Opposition PKR is a foriegn party.
6: No developement in 5 years if vote for opposition.
7: If opposition win, there will be chaos and disunity.
8: Tuai Rumahs/Penghulus who vote for opposition will be expelled.
9: All proposed projects will be diterred or abondon if vote for opposition.
10.Opposition said ti have the hidden agenda so don’t vote them. (What is your or the opposition hidden agenda ?) Can you tell us if any DJB, every body want to know. If no then MP Mesir Kujat can be sued for that telling lies and blameshing.

which is still thick in the rakyat hearts and they loved the tune of its. No wonder most ybs from the BN always sing and adopt the same song that is “Old Fashion Love Songs” since time memorial.

through Masir Kujat’s speech as mention above and his most effective approached of all times is still acceptable to the rakyat.

I do not know how much YB should give to kampung folks when they visit the people. I read a couple of weeks ago in Borneo Post( November 10) YB Uggah Embas distributed RM16K to 7 longhouses in Sg Arip , RM22k to 11 longhouses in Bawang and RM5k to 7 longhouses in Kakus.
Well, that’s thousands of money and perhaps something is better than nothing.

One of the popular gain of DB is the formation of DL group. DL is seem to be a gomen watch dog to analysis and study DB critism, comment and suggestion.

Batang Ai Rest House was built, Penan cash become national issue, NCR issue become global issue and many other.
PM put 6 billions for Sabah-Sarawak development, the largest budget so far.

There is absolutely NO way for us to move forward by listening to this sort of political speech. A speech such as this, is even confusing the speaker hinself.
How could Iban leader be effective giving speeches like this days in days out. It lacks inspirations to move us forward. If I were there, I would have yawned a few times.
Good and reliable Iban leaders would certainly welcome brainstorming sessions so that they could obtain positive feedbacks. Everybody’s opinions are considered for merits rather than rejecting them outright.
A speech like this only seems to proclaim that he is the perfect person who has the right to tell others off. Is this correct?. Our Ybs must not be thinking that they are the best persons to tell others to obey their command. They are obviously not GOD. They are still only human beings, a small creature just like anyone of us.
Once these YBs are voted out, I don’t think they have they guts to deliver a crappy speech like this. It will not deter me from carrying out my social obligation to tell my fellow colleagues and circles of friends to talk good about the govt when indeend they have been doing fine and vice versa.
Actually, these people have been bri*ed to attend this function as they were promised the RM. Our Iban Ybs seem to cliam the absolute goodness just because thaey they manage to spare a tokem sum. Imagine if they do it in town area. Who is gonna listen to them. None!. Only in the kampung area where the majority of people have iicomplete knowledge og the real situation will blindly come to listen to a crap like this.
Therefore, Ybs need to improve their skills in a more profeesional manner so that they are not an embarrassment to the Iban community. And again our YBs are ONLy excellent in giving MRPs.

We have to bark and make noise to attract attentions. As for YB Masir we couldn’t blame him because he is a very malu and quiet man and always sit back waiting for someone to give something that’s his nature waiting like a beggar don’t dare to bark at all ever scene he works as government officer or before become YB and now as YB he still practice this same attitude saya yang menurut perintah or barang ko BOSS.That’s why he enter Government service at a very late age.
Talking about development ? Roads in Pantu area – all the fielder roads are gravy roads nothing compare to jalan kelapa sawit or plantation’s road di Semananjung.

Well well…..again in politic its the votes or the voters that has the power or that counts. Political speeches in reality may not benifit the dayaks or the other races. To DB, Masir’s speech may be nothing other than BN rehotric but to the voters its plan truth. During polling day they only look “BN dacing symbol” on the ballot papers and no others.In short, other party symbol is not relevant to thier life.
So its suffice to say all BN leaders speeches content nothing but the truth.. people tend to believe as compare to speeches by opposition…and Sarawak voters (esp. Dayaks) agree, so what can we say? During vote counting for the past 5 general election BN dacing symbol is prefered..Y? speeches by BN leaders is too good to untrue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tak nyau lembau agi ka bejaku ka bala sida YB kitai Iban. Kitai ke mansut penemu ditu nyau ka sama penemu enggau panggan diri pasal bala YB kitai Iban. Ama bejaku mansut ka jaku nya ga…munyi ti dipansut ka Masih Kejat2 nya. Kati mata sida empu enda menchelak meda ni naka pemansang ti udah diberi printah BN ka kawasan sida empu dalam pengelama 46 taun udah Malaysia tu, lalu banding ka enggau kawasan sida bansa Laut (orang ke amat-amat chukup puas ensepi buah merdeka).
Nya sigi gaya tebah jako orang pelitik/politik (kerja sida melitik aka nipu orang), ka lebih agi bala aki-ini,apai-indai,aya-ibu serta kaban belayan kitai dimenoa pesisir din endang ulih diginti sida. I don’t know what DB is thinking and as a layman or ordinary people and as a kerani opis tanah to me RM5000.00 is a lot of monies!
The smell, the colour and the face value of its can make ones imagination gone awry, it meant Bula Enggai ke Duit, Unggal.
This is not an insult to DB but a plain truth with this RM 5000. 00 you can purchase a Brand New Modenass Motorcycle for your own good and take a ride with your love ones be it your wife, your husband, your friend, your pets or anybody. Isn’t it good Mr. Saru Penemu?
For a teacher or cikgu he can ride this motorcycle thro & Pro to school, isn’t it nice.
With a rational thinking and a balance judgement i think yb masir kujat ’speech is marvelous,inspire and straigth to the end receivers/rakyat/dayak who accept the message of its with and open arm.

Jako YB masir tu sigi betul. Kami DL sigi nyukung. Orang ke bejai perintah tu sigi nadai kerja bukai, sida sigi madah ka PKR tu manah. This is not to teach a grandmother how to suck eggs but rather making both sides of the divide, realise and be prepared when a YB is visiting a longhouse or a village.
In the old days even when a SAO visit the longhouse, it is a BIG event. Now we have YBs visiting a longhouse or a village, it should be a BIGGER event.
What is expected of a YB to say and do when he visits a village or a longhouse? There should be a Standing Operational Procedure as of now all YBs’ expenditures must be transparent and accountable. The YB is fully responsible for every cent spent.
Shall I try my best, to say what he should say:
“I come to bring good news to you. I shall conduct the meeting in two parts, namely, part 1,….part 2……
Part 1.
a. To inform you of the latest situation in the state and what I have been doing for you in your area or village and the progress of what I have been planning or have planned for you.
b. I have planned three projects for your village, namely a road, a bridge and a mini-estate. The details are as follows:
1) Road. Give the details.
2) Bridge. Give the details.
3) Mini-Estate. Give the details.
The total cost for these projects is RM 45 millions. The projects will be launched sometime in Jan 2010. The Cabinet has in principle approved the fund for the three projects.
c. I also have planned for two community projects, namely Project Kenyalang and Project Ayam Hutan. The total cost is RM 2.5 million. The projects will start next month and they will be launched by Minister so and so.
d. For tonight gathering, it is on the government expense (the tax-payer money). The total allocation is RM5,000.00. I shall account for every cent spent. We have to be thrifty so that more money can be saved and allocated for village improvement projects.
e. For your presence and loss of earning today, for being with me, my officials shall pay each family RM200.00. As there 30 families, the tatal amount is RM6,000.00. Again, this is tax-payers’ money and I cannot pay you more than that. (Invite the tuai rumah to receive and distribute the money. (All payments are in envelops with the family head’names written on them.)
Next, I would like to take requests and questions from you.
Part 2.
First, I will take your requests from your village. May I invite the tuai rumah or his wakil to present your requests. (After taking down notes and clarification on the requests, the YB may proceed to take general questions from the floor or ruai.)
Second, I will now take questions from you.
Allocation of time to take questions and answering should not exceed one hour.
The speech and the discussion should be conducted “professionally” without wasting the precious time of the visitors and the villagers.
Treat this as a learning process for the villagers on how to conduct a meeting without wasting time.
My next visit to you will be two months from now. The planned date is on ……….

1. Depending on the purpose of the YB’s visit, the conduct of the meeting may differ from one to the other and the SPEECH may also DIFFER accordingly, relating to the purpose of the visit.
2. If, for example, the meeting is one month prior to the DUN sitting, then the YB should ask the people for their concerns and encourage them to voice out the concerns so that he, their YB, will voice out their concerns to the Assembly in the DUN sitting.
3. The most surprising and shocking thing that took place in the recent DUN sitting was:
“No dayak YB raised the issue on joint-venture scheme of oil palm development in NCR lands. It was a lady chinese-malaysian YB, from Meradong who raised the issue and got herself into some hot soup. Unfortunately for her, no dayak YBs came to her rescue, trying to speak up for the dayaks. Poor thing. Hope she has learnt her lessons, through a bitter way by sticking out her neck.”
4. It all depends on the purpose of the YBs’ visits, on how their speeches should be. The villagers must also play their part to ensure the YB’s visit is beneficial to them and that they stay on course and do not take them (the villagers) for a joy ride, without hitting the nail on the head or bringing them the ‘Good News’ of what he has done for them in the past two months and what he is going to do for them in the next two months.
5. It is equally important the JKKK MUST submit their proposals and requests to the YBs in writing, copy to the ministers concerned on the needs and requirements of their villages. The tuai ruamh and the JKKK must be on their toes at all times and the Opposition MUST also play their part. If the three parties are or one of them is sleeping, who is going to blame whom at the end of the year. By then, it is too late to start the blaming game. The people would have suffered another year with no development or progress and another YEAR is WASTED.

Dear all,
1. The State Government through the good office of the Sate Secretary should by the end of the year prepare a new Standing Operation Procedures (SOP) for all YBs, ensuring all expenditures are accounted for, to the last cent. Detailed bills are a must. The SOP should include the following for the benefits of the people.
a. Programme of visits to the respective constituencies with planned dates and the people are informed at least one month ahead. All visits are properly timed so that the YBs would be punctual and they would not be wasting the people time. Any inconvenience caused should be compensated, RM200.00 per family should be enough.
b. YBs must inform the people the master plan of their villages in relation to the bigger area or district and division.
c. YBs must inform the villagers how he is going to plan and develop his constituency including the village he is visiting.
d. YBs must brief the villagers the immediate and future projects to be implemented in their areas/villages in details.
e. YBs must inform the community leaders and the villagers on what information he needs from them to help him plan for the villages.
f. YBs must be transparent and inform the villagers the allocation of funds to their respective constituencies and their villages.
2. There should be no room for mistrust and all actions be made known and transparent.
3. All YBs are to submit their monthly account/expenditure statements with copies to the DO and the Penghulu for information and for transparency. All village chiefs can view the statements at DO or Penghulu office.
4. Each DO office should have a web-site and show the statements of accounts and anyone who wishes to see them shall have an access to these statements.
5. With the above included in the SOP for YBs, Sarawak would be on the way to achieve greater heights and overtake all states in development. Hopefully, the State Secretary and AZAM will consider the inclusion of the suggested points in YBs’ SOP.

Actually, I’m attending a rite “Bebunuh Buyu” at Rumah Sg. Agu.
Nyau becherita mimit enggau nuan. Ka pulai tumu pagi tadi, enda ga ulih ngena perau laban ai besai amai bah. Merinsa meh diau di menoa Ulu, laban ke nadai jalai alun.
Nama runding kita urang Be End kena ngadu ke pengidup kami di menua ulu deh unggal ??????? Baka diatu, hari selalu bendar kudi. Nyangka laban antu buyu nyau majak maioh di menua kitai tu.
Datai aku di rumah pagi tadi tekenyit bendar meda agu ba pugu tanju nyau tebabak atap laban di pangka ke ribut BIAU BALAI (puting beliung). Nasit ga agi bisi zinc ti diberi perintah 10 taun ti udah. Nya meh kena nyeruri atap agu. Ka ngaga agu ti manah agi enda ga ulih meli atap meli simen. Nganti sida YB meri zinc baru meh!!!!!
Kami di menua ulu tu, enti nadai perintah sigi enda ulih idup baka menyadi kitai bansa bukai. Taja pan sida YB semampai bula ke kitai Iban, endang sigi di undi kami meh. YB meh ke nyadi PETARA kami ditu taja pan selalu ngemula ke kami. Enti lebuh maia bepilihraya, sida nya ditiki ka kami semenua ngena piring ngena ading. Babi anang nyebut nuan. Tak sampai 5 iku dibunuh kena niki ke bala YB.

I believe, penghulus and tuai rumah are appointed because their have leadership qualities and are natural leaders of their people. Some of you may violently disagree with that. I accept. That is fine with me.
I do not believe in fighting what cannot be undone or changed within that time-frame they are appointed for the job. If a penghulu is appointed for one year, so be it. It is that one year we are talking about. What can we do to improve his performance during the one year? We can ask two or three or even more agencies how to improve his performance. (State Secretary Office, Resident/District Office, AZAM or private institution – school of community leaders. Mark my words, someone will start one soon to make money.)
My views are:
a. AZAM in cooperation with the State Secretary Office must develop a better programme for the community leaders, one for the urban community leaders and one for the rural community leaders.
b. All those aspired community-leaders must obtain the diploma of community leadership before eligible for the appointment. Sometimes, we have to be tough to kind, not to the leaders but to the people. The people deserve to be better served and the public expect their money well spent and not wasted.
c. Besides, the adat book, a guide for urban leaders and a guide for rural community leaders be prepared for distribution or sale. The contents among others should include the following:
(1). The Adminstration of Sarawak Government and its organisational structure and chain of command.
(2). The Responsibilities and Duties of a community leader (Tuai Rumah).
(3). The suggested organisation of a village committee and sub-committees.
(4). The typical layout of a village/longhouse and its development/farm area.
(5). How to maintain contact, liaise and get assistance from the following:
(A) YB/politician.
(B) Government Servant.
(C) DO Office.
(D) L&S Office.
(E) Agriculture Office.
(F) Health Clinic.
(G0 Education Office.
(H) Banks.
(I) Others as relevant.
(6) How to conduct a meeting, write a minute and learn the layout of a minute.
(7) Management of time and making a time-table for the various community duties.
(8) Thrifty and saving.
(9) The Ten Commandments to a Better and More Prosperous Village.
(And so on.)
Never give up, dear friends but keep on looking for the best course of action.

Before make any public report, we shall make a proper study/analysis on it.
So far I know, most of the independent body complain that the Dayak Social Leader in rural area as well Dayak Candidate for BN YB is gomen hand pick. Not chosen by the rakyat on that particular area.
In previous article DB mention this a lot and some foreign comment on this has been posted here to prove DB article is right.
By right, we shall have a proper procedure or guideline to pick the Dayak Social Leader, that shall be base on SDNU study and approval. Not by outsider.
So can DB & SDNU do some thing on this procedure?
