What are the teachings of Biro Tata Negara (BTN)?

Dayakbaru:

I hope those Dayak who attended this BTN course can share their experience and learning. If such are the teachings of BTN that Chinese are Jews and Christians are associated with Head and Sholder Shampoo for its doctorine of “Holy Trinity” then DPM have a lot to explained to Malaysian instead of choosing to deny BTN racialist and extremist Ketuanan Melayu agenda.

Why are we spending so much money for such sick ideas of unity through hatred. Malaysian need the money to overcome hardcore poverty and therefor do not need such extreme negativity and may provoke the peace and stability of the country. I hope BN UMNO led supporters realize the “evil scheme”of certain UMNO Malay leaders.

For Dayak we have to stand up and be counted and stop being cowed into the corner and whine about our problem. Do something positive with one selfand also to walk beyond one self to provide service to the community and make our community better.

Kalau bukan kiat – siapa?

Kalau bukan sekarang – bila?

If BTN is just the tip of an ice-berg of UMNO racialist Ketuanan Melayu agenda, I fear for the future of Malaysia under BN led BN.

No wonder the voters rejected BN in March 8th election. In Sarawak – the vote buying, promised of development and the award of MRP confused the voters of BN UMNO intention. The voters did not even understand that BN is led by UMNO with Ketuanan Melayu agenda.  This Ketuanan Melayu agenda is the root cause for declining numbers of non-Malays in the civil service, the curtail of various religious freedom to practice, the low numbers of Dayak receiving support for tertiary education, the introduction of a single race value system to rural Dayak through West Malaysia teachers etc.

It is time enough we make a stance and say NO to BN.

Change WE Must

Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani – and BTN course

I am one of the privileged few to have attended a local public university and learned the meaning of hate, thanks to the ever popular Biro Tata Negara.

All undergraduates were forced to attend this programme or else they would not be eligible for graduation.

Intellectual Speakers?

The BTN under the Prime Minister’s Department brought in “intellectual” speakers who were supposed to enlighten the students about the meaning of being a Malaysian but instead it felt more like a communist propaganda camp brainwashing those attending about the importance of “Ketuanan Melayu”.

A Whole Day Program

The camp would usually take place during the weekends. Students would have to register early in the morning and the programme would last the whole day.

The organisers were always on their guard, asking participants to show their student identification cards each time they entered the hall, fearing the presence of outsiders.

In the hall, students were asked to turn off their mobile phones.

Do not raise any question

During the lectures, questions were planted among the audience and the students were advised not ask raise any questions.

One speaker began with the history of Malaysia and how much the country had gone through, always emphasising the May 13 riots.

Malay must be united against outside threateg the Malaysian Chinese

He stressed the point of how much the Malays had sacrificed and how the community should be united especially from outside threat — the Chinese community.

BTN says – Chinese are Jews of Asia

He said that the Chinese community were “the Jews of Asia” and were just itching to take over when Malays were disunited and broken.

The speaker also revealed a greater Chinese conspiracy where the Chinese Malaysians were working together with Singapore to topple the Malay government.

“Do you want to become like the Malays in Singapore?” he asked.

Muslim are Malay

He also went so far as to criticise Malay girls for dating boys from other races.

He added that they should not be cheap and embarrass their families.

Once, a student told the speaker that as Muslims, we should also respect other races who are also Muslims.

“All Muslims are Malays so it does not matter if they are Chinese or Indians. If they are Muslims then they are Malays,” the speaker replied.

Selangor PKR Government is doing the right thing

This is why I was relieved when I learned that the Selangor government had moved to ban its civil servants, employees of state subsidiaries and students at state-owned education institutions from attending any BTN courses with immediate effect.

However I believe racism in varsities does not end at BTN because classrooms have also become victims of ignorant scholars.

My friend was verbally abused during his sociology class when he did not agree with the points made by his lecturer.

“You must be DKK,” the lecturer told him.

Darah Keturunan Keling (DKK)

“What is DKK?” he asked.

“You must be darah keturunan keling (descendents of Indians),” the lecturer said, pointing to his dark skin.

My Saudi friend was also shocked by the comments made by his lecturer in his Islamic civilisation class.

Orang Alsi are Palestinians and Chinese is Isreal

“We should save our Orang Asli from the Chinese people. They are like the Palestinians and the Chinese are Israel. We must fight the Jews,” the lecturer told his students.

Failed for quoting Western Scholar

The lecturer even failed one of his students in his oral exam when he quoted a Western scholar in his presentation.

“You should be ashamed of yourselves. You are a Muslim and should only use Islamic scholars,” he scolded the student.

Christians are like Head and Shoulder’s 3 in 1 shampoo – for Holy Trinity

I was personally saddened when my Islamic law lecturer compared Christianity to Head & Shoulder’s 3 in 1 shampoo in referring to the religion’s Holy Trinity.

Conclusion

I feel that racism has been institutionalised in our country and that BTN is only the tip of the iceberg.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin defended BTN yesterday and claimed that it was not racist but is line with the 1 Malaysia concept.

I have to humbly disagree and would like to suggest maybe the ministers should bring their overseas children home and let them have a taste of what BTN is.

    Dear friends,

If what was said is true and is only the tip of the iceberg, may God have mercy on Malaysia, to have such low-thinking Malaysians who care only a portion of the people of Malaysia. That thinking will lead to the failure of Malaysia. She may become a failed-state. The culprits then are the real traitors of the nation, working in the interests of our enemy.

Hatred begets hatred as love begets love. We hope the leadership of Malaysia is soon to be made aware of the harms the programme would bring.

Once the damages are done, it would take generations to repair and make good the damages.

Although the targets, as alleged, are Chinese and Indian Malaysians, the real would-be victims would be the bumiputras in Sarawak and Sabah.

The simple reason is that the Chinese and Indian Malaysians are better equipped to handle such hatred programme than the bumiputras in Sarawak and Sabah. The chinese Malaysians who are mostly buddhists and studied in chinese schools and private colleges and universities can escape such propaganda better. Only a small percentage of chinese Malaysians are in Government-run universities.

It is in the interests of all loyal Sarawak & Sabah Malaysians, especially the bumi-leaders from these two states, to pay close attention to what is going on in the country and what is happening to their children while studying in colleges and universities in West Malaysia.

Before more harms are done, Sarawak and Sabah Parliamentarians must investigate the allegations and find out the truths and take the necessary actions.

It is also in the interests of all parents and right-thinking citizens of Malaysia to do their parts.

Local newspapers must now take the initiative to start interviewing students exposed to such programme and seek the truths.

Where there is a will, there is a way to find out the truths.

God bless our children and may they remain steadfast in their thoughts and hold on to the good attitude imparted to them by their parents and not to be swayed by hatred but love to progress in life.

    God bless everyone.

    DB,

I wonder what Sabahan and Sarawakian Bumiputera students would think about these videos ?

How about adult Bumiputera in Sabah and Sarawak ?

Its the narrow street of Ketuanan Melayu alright.

Do the Sabah and Sarawak leaders support Ketuanan Melayu ? Now, that would be an interesting question for the intrepid DAP reps to ask in ADUN session.

Dayaks… agi ka nyukong BN ke dituai ke UMNO? According to UMNO, Malays are only those who submit to UMNO’s version of of Islam. Maybe the Arabs are not to their likings, what more to say PAS and Muslims in Keadilan. What do they do to Dr Asri?

If UMNO BN can do such terrible things to the non-UMNO Malays and Muslims what kind if favor do Dayaks expect from UMNO / BN? I strongly do not believe Dayaks are that ignorant and stupid not to realize what UMNO BN had done to us the last 46 years. Those who think oterwise must have been given thick-riggit-tinted glasses and or their mouth stuffed with rolls of soiled ringgit. Not the hundred ringgit note…just the one ringgit notes suits poor Dayaks. Wake up! Dayaks Wake up!

    Ugly msian

i on behalf of myself as kerani opis, welfare department directly presumed that BTN is irrelevant thought not 100% irrelevant.

the concept and the principle of BTN is undeniable good. that is to instal the spirit of extremist or even to a point of fanatic! by which at the end of the course the participants will be a discipline person.

only, yes only the GOAL/OBJECTIVE of BTN i m diagree of. their goal are to termi…… ,,,,,.

as the 1Malaysia concepts goes, so do the BTN. they might change its name but the GOAL is the same, it can be Biro Taat Setia, or it can be Matlamat Setia 1Malaysia with the same objectives.

    Ulgy msian
i ve seen a lot of ulgy things that malaysian do such adultery, uncivilised manner, undiscipline driver and i hope you are not one of them.

as i said earlier, i m supporting the concept of BTN in term of disciplinary and the dayak, yes dayak iban should EMULATE the concept of BTN in whatever their endeavour.

no man!,Nope! i m not subscribe to Ketuanan Melayu, Ulgy Msian but, yes there is a but, as a Kerani Opis Welfare by nature i always watch intentionally or unintentionally at the majistic Agong, PM and Yang Dikasih Pehin Potraits since they are hanging at the prime location at counter of my Opis.

What i can say BTN is platform to say Malay is no 1 in Malaysia. It based on my experience who

    BN/UMNO.Not Jabatan Perdana Menteri oo.
They only say that Malay must have to be
respect by other races more than they respected other.Bullsh*t
BTN are some of BN propaganda to get their support from student. They oly say about pembangkang fail. What about them?Sarawak maju ke?Bullsh*t.
BTN is only for Malay. Not suitable for our Dayakian to attend it.Isu babi pun di bangkit di dalam kursus.Penyakit lembu gila langsung tak cakap oi.Bullsh*it.

  15. engkerawai on November 30th, 2009 10:53 pm

I’ve attended the course once in 1994, I would say the content of the course is more to enriching the BN government and ‘whitewash tactic’ to get the participants to respect[taat setia] to the ketuanan melayu, kesultanan melayu, agama melayu, budaya melayu, sultan melayu concepts. There are lots of annoying things and insensible ceramah by this so-called pegawai BTN. I’m shocked to see that the muslim and the non-muslims were discriminated at certain activities and functions by the
organiser. As participant I feel very insecure and annoyed because none of the officers involved are Dayaks. We have no room to prove ourself excepts for the majority malays as participants.

I was at the Annual Grand Assembly of the Iban Speaking Church, last weekend, when one of the guest speakers who came from one of the local churches in Kuala Lumpur, dropped what must’ve been a bombshell, to the consternation of no less than a couple of thousands Iban speaking christian congregation of various denominations from throughout Malaysia. The speaker mentioned in her dicourse that young Iban girls who are aplenty in KL and other parts of Malaya, either working or studying in private colleges, are being tagged as “AYAM SEGAR” by especially the Anak Laut Malaya, who often come in droves to pick up these girls from their hostels during weekends. The reason why they called our Iban girls “ayam segar” is that these girls are “fresh” from the longhouse in Sarawak. And they make good “meat” so they bragged.

It’s no wonder that, according to unofficial survey, at least ONE Dayak girl or boy A DAY is converted to muslim in this country. If this trend continues, with our small population in this country, very soon there will be very few Dayaks left. I m not too confident that any other means, not even politics, can stop this rot, other than a divine intervention! So let’s all pray, brethens.Amen.

  21. Aya Bujang Tuai on December 1st, 2009 5:17 pm

If we want to achieve anything we have to do something. A good fisherman use suitable bait or net to catch fish but for the greedy fisherman will use generator or poison. The greddy fisherman will surely catch more fish but the effect would be more demaging.

Any government has it own objective for the country. In order to achieve its objective its has to do something, by hook or by crook. Ex President Marcos of the Phillipines claimed he was the permanent president but was ousted because he choose the crooked way. UMNO in the name of BN think it can govern Malaysia permanently, but if it use the crooked way it will loss its power or even loss a country name Malaysia.

Now it is heard that the gov’t want to change the BTN course syllabus only after Selanggor gov’t stopped its civil servants/students from attending. Penang is said to follow. So we can see how effective for us to have a strong opposition party not only for the purpose of opposing but to oppose the policy unsuitable for the country.

Now we in Sarawak/Sabah should open our eyes so we can see, opened our ears so we can hear. We should oppose what is not right for us, so we need a strong opposition so that our problems can be heard. This is merely because in the BN we cannot oppose anything otherwise we will be considered pro opposition.

If you feel that BTN teachings is no good to us, so why do you accept the 1Malaysia concept ? BTN is one of the way to achieve this slogan. This is one of their hidden agenda and now the secret is exposed. How can we defend this type of gov’t.

  22. PR on December 1st, 2009 8:49 pm

All along they have been doing that. But we the other Malaysians have been so trusting [which is in fact good and the right thing to do] but UMNO took advantage of us.

As long as we continue to support BN, BTN will continue to stay. Until the PEOPLe say enough, then only change will come.

Makal Sakhti / People’s Power must reign to end BB and BTN
