Politics is Fluid
A friend asked me why should I want to send congratulatory message to the 6 new Assistant Ministers who started in their new post today. He said these BN people and are not good and do not deserved any congratulatory notes.
Wow – that take some wind off me because except for YB Abdul Wahab Aziz I am familiar with the other five who I have known before they even enter politics. I think we should disassociate personal friends and relatives from politics. We should not make them as personal enemies even though in politics we hold different agenda and objectives and are even in opposing parties.
What is politics?
Jerry Brown said that ” the political is about the collectivity – the nation, the state, the city, the community. It refers not to personal choice – I want to do this or I want to do that – but to working with other people to arrive at some operating agreement about an issue that is important.
Politics is therefor different from contemplation, and it is different from personal friendship, although the political implies like-minded people sharing certain beliefs and certain understanding of what the good is and what the bad is.
Politics is about working with divisive issues, because by definition in a democratic country society there is lots of disagreement. Politic refers to a process of struggle, of competition, of discussion, and ultimately of agreeing on certain actions by certain methods.
Politics requires people to listen to each other and finding accommodation that will allow them tolive peacefully in the same place.
Stay Focus
These new Assistant Ministers are extra resources to help manage our country. If they manage in ways that is progressive that would meet our expectation and should be acknowledged. When they run off course they stand corrected and must be given feedback so that they may improve their performance.
I believed in the basic goodness of people – we all have that. We need to appeal to that goodness in each one of them through ways that might reach them. In this case, I do hope that they will see or hear from words of mouth from this blog that Dayakbaru expect expect no less that “ExcellenT” in their performance in delivering the correct leadership, support and services to their constituencies and Sarawak as a hold.
For a start: I would asked them not to be “self serving” but to focus on helping and organizing the people toprogress. Second I would asked of them to be faithful to their heart in delivering their vision of what is good for the people of sarawak without compromising their personal integrity.
Last: let them be reminded that the position is given to them inorder that they will be better able to serve the rakyat and not the other way round.
There might be some intrique behind the appointment
Weak Ground Support in their constituencies
For some of the new Assistant Ministers their ground support in their on constituency has weaken. The CM hope that their appointment “might” help them to retain their state seat in the next State election.
We must be reminded that many Federal Ministers were beaten in the last March 8th election. Getting the position will not guarantee their seat security but if they improve on their performance that would be a mitigating factor.
Now the Dayak must ensure BN victory
It might be Taib’s strategy to appoint as many dayak as possible to become assistant Ministers in the hope that these dayak ministers would be able to retain the Dayak support in the rural areas. For SUPP – it is hopeless to appoint them as the urban voters is not easily “confused” by such strategy. For the rural folks this strategy might work.
Taib succession planning
Taib is continuing with his idea of getting his son to take over from him as chief Minister. Taib’s family has too much business interest that needed protection by using political power. T he appointment of the new Assistant Minsiters will help to widen support for his one of his son should the need arise.
The BN internal politics is not that toothless when it comes to grabbing political power. Thus these politicians prefer to play safe and say or do nothing to make peace with Taib to enable them to make more money for themselves. Also, they may not be picked as the next BN candidate if they even say small things that Taib do not want to hear.
What is Taib sensitive to?
Taib is definitely very sensitive about his family business and their connection. He also is sensitive to NCR land issues and dayak issues because that is the one aspect of Opposition politics that can lead to the defeat of BN Dayak candidates.
Conclusion
Politician must always look at the bigger picture and walk the wider road. Politician who hold on to “small views” of things would easily be extremist in their view and purpose. That would bring chaos for our nation.
Dayakbaru – Change WE Must is also a process. It begins with yourselves.

I salute you for making a wise & sensible decision in congratulating those who deserved it. I supposed those friend/s of yours who discouraged you to do so must be those with “crab mentality” the like of Iban Abroad, PE, jojis, CI, LT, LA, Antu Lapar, PRPR, IM and others.
For DL not only they sent congratulatory message but they were also invited for the dinner to celebrate the appointment of the six.

JBA, howabout if they die are you going to send them the same message or obituary message. If one day Yang di kasihi pass away i will be the first to send congratulatory message, congratulate him for his work robbing Dayak NCR land, dividing Dayak, corruptions in Sarawak.

Dear Dr. John,
May I join you in congratulating the newly appointed assistant ministers. They are the chosen ones. They are all bumi-putras and most are dayaks. Well-done to the dayaks. Of the four dayaks, three are Ibans. Well-done to Ibans.
The dayaks should be celebrating and rejoicing for the having four strong additional assistant ministers. There should be any complaint on these appointments and the dayaks must be thankful to the Chief Minister.
Poor chinese and orang ulu are lamenting. They have to be patient. Their turn will come. Leave it to the wisdom of the Chief Minister. It is his perogative. It is his days. It is his time.
Please continue with your crusade aiming to bring the dayaks up and the corridor of power.
Please remember too, in order to do that you need the cooperation and assistance from all racial groups on both sides of the sea.
And please remember too, “all parties enter the federation as equal partners.” If and when Sarawak gets its rightful share of a minimum of 30% of everything, the dayaks as a whole will benefit from it. For oil, as you righty said 45%
is the asking price, over a period of no less than 35 yeras the other partner is having the major share.
You have a multi-missions and are fighting on several fronts. each one is inter-related with the others and inter-dependent of one another.
May the All Mighty give you the energy and will to go on and never give up.
God bless the newly appointed assistant ministers and may they carry out their duties and responsibilities without fear and favour, in the name of ‘justice and equality’.

Hey, nothing I can do. Might go see YB Nansian immediately to ask for a favour since “new broom sweeps well”. Remember, 4 Dayaks elected as Ass. Ministers not for nothing but to counter the threat of DB. Politics aside, I thinks Nansian can help me buy some lands in his area!

As Dayaks for Dayaks, it is indeed proper for us to congratulate them. Hopefully they don’t pull the rug (land) from under our feet later on. Like most of them did and still try to do.
Yes DJBA, that’s what politicians should do. Even though he is against you in politic you shouldn’t treat him as your enemy. Congratulate him/her if he/she is fit to be congratulated. I hate what some politicians is doing now, treating the opposition like nobody even he is his friend, cousin or brother. We cannot even talk what more to say drink togather with our brother if he is oppose to us. I know some of DB are not happy with your action in congratulating the new asst.ministers although they are mostly your friends or schoolmates, but don’t worry for what is important is our destiny. A shallow minded politician only think he is right and someone who oppose his ideology is considered his enemy.
Lord Jesus said, love your enemy, if they are hungry give them food, if they offend you pray to God to forgive them. This is hard to swallow in this political world of today but a bitter food is good for health.
Keep it up DJB, you are the one who can make the change, from hate to love, from division to combination. Yangdikasihi just couldn’t make it.
I hope that the new asst.ministers can discuss with you and solve our problems. They are running short of time so advice them to start forthwith, or else they will be voted out in the next election. They will be retained if they do their homework properly. I also hope non of them are involved in the MACC report public fund scandal, if any, our CM has made the wrong choice.

Congratulating the six newly appointed Ass. Ministers is good esp. on their first day in office but it could have been better if Dr. JBA is willing to turn this blog into BN gomen mouth piece .It will do a world of good if Dayakbaru is used to explain BN policy to rural folks.
Yangdikasihi will surely appreciate what DB does for its community. I can tell you with a degree of certainty that the Dayaks community will tend to benefit ……instead of the endless and usual ooh..aah…ooh..aah..ooi…ooi non-stop!
Congrtulation for what I don’t know. For all we have received, poor infrastructure, bad NCR land policy, BN corrupted practices(60% of our taxpayers money being siphoned out, etc?

I think it’s good and proper that we should give thanks for every little blessing we have. In this case, our Dayak community should, by all means, express our appreciation for the appointment of these five Dayak Asst. Ministers. Whether they perform to our expectation, that’s quite immaterial at this juncture. It’s rather premature to judge them when they have not yet been tried. Congratulatios are quite in order in the meantime. And let’s wait and see how they fare after this. Give them a chance, friends. If they are not performing, I m sure their names’ll be dropped after the next GE,if they have not been defeated first.

HOWEVER, what are the agendaS beind appointment of the puppets ?????????
Maybe I’m quite drastic to judge and underestimate their (Assistant Ministers) “obligation” and “commiment” FOR Dayak society,however, even the FOOL MINISTERS cannot uplift the DAYAK LIVING STANDARD (mostly our brethren at the longhouses)
What “have’ they contribute to our society???

As most of Dayak become the millionaires and coporate men are thro ministership in politic, it seem that the appointment of ministers above has good chance for the Dayak to increase the number of millionaires as well coporate man.
DB shall think positively in this aspect eventho their route to coporate world and the motive of appointment is questionable.
I hope more Dayak become ministers in years to come and be more protective leaders on Dayak Rights ari ke selalu enda bemunyi, belalai, nukung di teluk, takut, engkelila ka orang bansa bukai musnah ka kitai Dayak.
