Face of Lubok Antu
Going by the local news feedback, there do not seemed to be any progress made in Lubok Antu after BN win the by-election.
We read about YB Nyalau going around the constituency and most of the time with Johnichol Rayong who pretended to be a BN elected representative. Rayong is described as pretending because his official position is as a DUN member but friendly to BN. The fact is he has not been accepted into BN whether he like it or not.
How do we expect a “fake” to do a good job? Fake are mostly unreliable product even though there are a lot cheaper to buy.
Minor Rural Projects
The allocation given to a long house is an average $2000.00 per long hose. BN described that as a lot of money for the “poor” long house folk. One can only wonder what impact would $2000.00 make to a long house say 20 doors long.
There never seemed to be any news on the people of Lubok Antu being organized into cohesive team to pursue economics gain like agro- biz.
The town of Lubok Antu remained “Pasar Antu” – no increase in economics activities.
Where is that $80 million promised by BN?
The road remain in the same condition as before – where is the promised tarred 10 km ring road. There is NO economic planning activity in Lubok Antu – thus the government servant is the main source of money spent in Lubok Antu.
Hilton Batang Ai bring some tourist dollar but very little will reach the pocket of the IBAN who is the majority in Batang Ai.
So Lubok Antu voted on empty promised and live with empty dreams.
Sri Aman
Economy
Someone asked me to write about the “fate” of Sri Aman. It is similar to Lubok Antu. When there is NO industry created around a town then job opportunities and business to provide service to the business is nil. Thus the pocket of the people remain empty.
The syndrome is the young people would leave the town and look for job and opportunities else where. The young people would bring some money home to improve “individual family” and that is that.
The government who has the duty to develop infra-structure for better transportation and business failed to ignite the economy. Not even proper bus station for Lubok Antu and cost of movement remain high. The poor get poorer and opportunity is lost due to hardship of traveling in such condition.
Agriculture
The agricultural activities remain stale. Some individual started small Oil Palm planting but on the whole the agricultural sector has not grown to any significant.
YB Francis has not done anything substantial to help the economy. MRP is not enough to kick start any economics improvement.It is easy to give away money that is ALLOCATED to you but try to create money fro the people. That is the new challenge of leadership now.
The padi scheme in certain areas has long been abandon and the money that DID spent on the initial phase goes to waste. The government introduction of new padi strain, technology and improve marketing network end up – nowhere. What a pity. It could have been better through persist ency and focus effort.
Health
The health service is gauged through hospitals and health clinics that is available. Such facilities is still left wanting.
This should be the first trust of development even before road is available. Now many patient died unnecessarily due poor medical care.
Construction of hospital should not be equate with population ratio. What do the government want to encourage – that the poor folk should have 10 children per family?
Education
Sri Aman should have move far ahead of others due to heavy involvement of the British in the area before Malaysia was formed. The least of all is Sri Aman and Lubok Antu should have a Community College for their children.
Conclusion
Sri Aman has a great community leader in Micheal Pilo. Sri Aman also produced the first IBAN High Court judge Datuk Linton Albert.
The voters of Lubok Antu and Sri Aman deserve better pay back for their support of Barisan Nasional. But the first thing that BN can do is not to go into “denial mode”. Once that happen, nothing will change because to deny the fact is to deny progress that the people needed and deserve.

1.When somethings that was “Impossible” in the past is “Possible” for now
2.When dozens of Goverment Agencies will be rushing out to gave their service,helps and assistance here and there to the Rakyat
3.When once a Dead Town will become another Las Vegas in just overnight
4.When more and more those Yang Berhormats will be seen “Turun Padang” and lecturing,giving “Promises and more promises” here and there to the Rakyat

Just to recalled back,in Batang Ai By Election,RM80 Million is the total amount worth of Mee Segera being given out in a matter of 14 Days !!!!Ironically,locals have to wait for over 46 Years to get it…hmmm……I hate Mathematics..70,000000 Divide by 46=???
Malcolm Mussen said that opposition would jump ship if BN honoured pledges during Batang Ai by election. I have not heard any opposition member has jumped ship, it means that BN did not honor its promises.
Some BN promises during Batang Ai by election:-
i.RM12 millions to tar-seal roads within Batang Ai resettlement scheme, disclosed by Masing.
ii.RM1.5 million allocation to improve the standard of living at 150 Batang Ai longhouses, Muhyidden said.
Not forgetting what Jabu said ” Batang Ai people support BN because the tempo of development brought by the BN is increasing all the time so much. ” What are these developments that Jabu talked about, 60 per cent federal allocations leaked out?
The people of BA were given an opportunity to tell BN enough is enough and whatever is promised is all lies.
When the final tally is known, the voters of BA have rejected Jawah and PKR.
It wrong to say the Dayaks are too poor and any amount of money promised and given for their votes will entice them to Vote BN.
Anwar Ibrahim have said, take the money, but vote PKR.
Results speak otherwise.
Whether it is Nicholas Bawwin or Jawah, the candidate does not matter. It is why the rakyat opted for the opposition.
Political Leaders from both side of the divide tend to talk, but i do not see any with the will power to bring anything substantial to the poor voters and in this case BA.
We do not have to wait for anyone to do charity.
Insofar as Agriculture is concerned, there are world players, namely Sumitomo Group willing to provide seed capital and technology for large scale cultivation of fruits and vegetables for domestic and export market.
Under Khazanah Nasional Berhad,BN have Malaysia Agrifoods Corporation with an allocation of RM500 million and under BN Sarawak, Taib intend to transform Sri Aman into Sarawak’s agri hub.
Agriculture is now Malaysia’s third economic trust. However, knowing how Malaysia Givernment works all this plan will as usual never see the light of the day.
Having said that, I believe the rakyat should take the initiative by talking to private investors in looking at developing agri biz in BA and Lubok Antu.
As an apolitical observer, I would start banging tables of BN agencies and complaining aloud would be when BN Government and YB’s refuse to give any assistance to ensure successful implementation.
In short with a selfish government, we should take the initiative rather than pointing fingers.
What about Sng Chee Hua, he monopolise Dole’s banana biz in Malaysia?
With his involvement in PKR’s foray into BA By Election, PKR Leaders whether they are elected or not should look into this and proof to Sarawak Voters they can do something for Sarawakians.

Never mind, please wait another 46 years, and wait again till the end of times…
Progress and development will come.
Politics of development is sure to reach every nook and corner of our area in Lubok Antu. It is so easy for us to reap the benefits of this politics of development as the development in this concept can be in the form of ORAL PROMISES only. It it does not have to be in real physical terms.
Any regret?. Hope not as we had been advised to make the right choice during the election. Any price paid for voting the Ex-teacher? . Hope not as the are now additional 80 Iban millionaires in our area. This is not too bad for an effort of several months.
Is there any rumour of setting up a commercial bank in LA?. Nope tus far I guess except for the presence of two RIVER BANK BHD. So what is it?. All empty promises, isn’t it?.
Any airport in Lubok Antu or Betong?. Personally, I think, if the progress of development is at its current pace whereby LA is in its slumber, then wait for another 46 years.
Do hope that the IBans will not repeat the err of our people in LA. We must learn!!

The develooment projects in LA are already in the pipelines as promised in the last election.

Lessons for others NOT to follow blindly.
Empty promises as always.
But then again, since the beginning of time since we learned the word “politics” we have always been made a fool!

Kebuah sida berebut deka nyadi YB laban deka ngisi kantung diri empu dulu,lalu laluhnya beri ke rayat.100 taun ke deka datai ila pan pengidup kita iban sigi enda berubah laban “Mentality” kita bansa semina lebih manah mimit ari jelu.

It is all too familiar:;under this concept of politics of development,the projects are ALWAYS in the pipelines till no end. So please continue to wait and one must remain patient.
Guess,there are a lot of pipelines elsewhere as well. Hence, the Ibans must continue to rally their support to the govt, like the voters in LA.

Sharing a few observations :-
(1) Malcom Mussen has to update his constituency on the status of the promised projects. It is not enough to say it is in the pipeline. The promises were specific, and so the update must be specific. Although it was not his promises, he owe it to his constituency to be truthful. Otherwise I wonder how he would be able carry himself around town.
(2) It may be wrong to presume that the voters in Lubok Antu had voted for Malcom Mussen on the strength of the promised development. The promised may have been a factor during the last election but may have not been THE only factor as many had assumed.So it will not be wise to write off Malcom Mussen in the next election, on the back of BN undelivered promises.
(3) While it maybe understandable that the poor Iban voters in Lubok Antu may have been naive to have given Mussen a landslide victory on the most frivolous of arguments: the enlightened Opposition have not taken action to educate the voters, as only a principled opposition should, especially if the voters have been served multiple lies. It is a wrong move for the Opposition to pack up and abandon the Lubok Antu voters when it lost the by-election.Its not too late for the Opposition to show that it would be in Lubok Antu for the long haul.

Hello Batang Ai Folk,
The present govt is very concerned about the people in Batang Ai, as much as they do concern for the Mukah Division. There are many projects being implemented such Jalan kampung and Balai Raya.
However, Batang Ai Folk is advised to check with the district office at LA; do not simply aim at the blank shot.
You can also list all the promises by our BN group during the election and counter-check with the ongoing project being implemented in LA now.
…..PLEASE JUSTIFY YOUR CLAIM THAT BN IS NOT FULFIL THE BY ELECTION PROMISE….BN IS ACCOMMODATING GOVT

Waiting and waiting for the gifts promises during the by-election the RM80.00 million and projects for the people of Lukok Antu, barter trade center town similar to Entikong and Serikin was promised during the campaign season were just an empty dreams. LA remind a cowboy town of Ai Ijok the same old dirty and smelly market at the river side.
This is just like the jomheboh programe at Bukit Jalil last weekend sama sama ngelaku ka product diri empu aja. JJ ngelaku ka enggi iya lalu bala bukai ngelaku ka enggi sida mega but everthing come to nothing back to Zero.That’s our Govem that we envy so much, and the representative MM that we put our trust in has become dump & gag

Can any DB members list out the projects promised during the last By Election. With the list available to the DL group; enables us to counter check with the existing project being impelemented now in LA.
We can even bring the matter to our paramount chief to expedite the project promised.
….Without such list, the implementation would take its own pace.

Amat selalu amat news pasal LA pansut dalam Borneo Post. Lebih-lebih agi pasal bala sida MP enggau ADUN (ti menang ngena lambang SNAP) ke betabur ka duit diberi ngagai JKKK ba mayoh rumah panjai di kawasan menua nya dia. Untung amat bala Iban di LA laban mayoh rumah panjai sida udah di-beri “printah” bantu enggau duit RM2000 datai ka RM5000 ka sebuah-sebuah rumah-panjai. Enti rumah panjai 20 pintu, lalu enti di-beri RM2000, reti nya sepintu bisi bulih RM100. Chukup ga nya kena meli atap spendek dua-tiga singkap dikena nyeruri tudoh. Enda ka pama amat nya ba kitai Iban? Lalu ba bala ke nadai tudoh di-seruri, duit RM100 sepintu nya tadi bisi amat kena ngemasah ka rekong ba kedai-kupi Cina leboh ti undur ka pasar. Enti bisi belaloh, agi ga chukup kena meli CD baru Ricky El. Pulai ke rumah lagi bisi ga kena bekaraoke enggau bala diri serumah sampai pagi. I guess the pipelines planned for us in LA are still too long to be completed till the next GE at the earliest or another 46 years till they are of no use for our people anymore.
Dbs, please do not become idiots to list out all the projects to be implemented in LA. They themselves should have known the details. After all they have talked and managed to deceive us to support the conspiracy of robbing the Dayak Ibans of their wealth.
In simple terms, all the projects should worth around RM80.00M. Remember the recent revelation by those in authority?. 60% of these momies are going to be diverted elsewhere i.e only rm48M id going to utilised to carry out proper development benefiting the voters. The balance is understandably goes to…who….?. DOs or SAOs? I do not know.
Any signs of political promises being met by our YBs?.
Do we have to have for another 46 years?.

DB oh DB what a pity you people cannot distinguish what is priority. You know that Kelantan, Pahang, Terengganu was flooded and all roads are in deplorable conditioned. So the priority now is mending all potholes on these roads. All gomen machineries are on these priorities and after all things are back to normal then only we will move to the foldback activities.
Not only LA needs to be improved and if we talk about development it should be comprehensive to all districts and states in Malaysia. Development are taking place everywhere, don’t you see that?
Some are coming instantly especially when near election time, not because to win the votes but they become prority because the deadline is near. When the deadline is near they have to push hard and that was why you sighting a few numbers of bulldozers and trucks laden with boulders nearby.
Remember the mandate just being endorsed by the LA folks and what is that to worry much? The development will take course in the ordinary pace, just be patient. If you look closely i can guarantee there are some construction works taking place in LA or nearby area.

But by the way what is DayakBaru Plan 2010 or 2020?
DayakBaru must worked as a new “millennium leaders”; a “team”; a “promoter”; and “facilitators” for our community to neutralize negative thinking and/or mindset within us and find new path of prospects for our next generation.
I believe all great peoples; nations; organizations; and teams, have a visionary leader at the helm, who is always pointing on the right direction (and not pointing fingers on others and/or promoting “blaming culture”) at the kind of organization or community they’re going to be.
People have a need to follow this type of leader. It inspires them and keeps them on track when difficulties arise.
Without vision, our people and land could perish any sooner. So think about it for a moment.

Lubok Antu is one of the famous area and olders Iban area. The town itself is one of the oldest town in Sarawak if not in Malysia.
Now it is one of the poorest town in Malaysia, one of the least educated person in Malaysia per family, one of the least candidate handle the high post in Malaysia, one of the least millionaire in Malaysia, one of the least income per capitar in Malaysia and one of the most government promise undelivered in Malaysia. 80M is still in forever pipeline.
One double storey simple shoplot cost the local to buy it 530 K per unit the same price in big city in Malaysia. The coordination of this project is being control by BN buddy. BN sell the project to third party in cheap price and third party control the price, sell to local with price increase 200%. The profit will go to both third party and buddy. One banglo lot in Miri cost u 80K from Land & Survey price. Build the house est. 200K. Total 280K. Still, the banglo in Miri is much cheaper than simple double storey shoplot in Lubok Antu.
DL this thing you need to take action. Do not play so much with your dirty and nasty politic, asking DB to list out the misdeed and do your propganda to do the counter check.
Too much BN misdeed in Lubok Antu. Merindon has promised with land tittle but until now, no news. Kelapa Sawit in Merindon has promise to give business priority to local, but contract produce million of profit to transport Crude Palm oil from Merindon to Kuching is never given to local instead give to Non-bumi. I am not going to touch a small project.
HEP Wong Irup. 420 Iban families have been promise of free house, good infrastructure, land tittle, unsettle compensation, job opportunity and etc but after late YB Sylvester Langit highlighted it in Dewan until now nobody are care about it.
What I can see in Lubok Antu, BN make use of uneducated Lubok Antu folk to vote for BN with BN nasty propoganda and undemocratic means to fish their vote.
DB/DL, does this type of thing is a good move for our people? Or shall we work together to stop or at least we limit it?

the documents are not gone but in the safe hand of yang dikasihi for finalise, in fact this is a little bit of secrecy. but as a reasonable man i don’t mind to disclose it.
for me allthough not directly involved, but my department has helping a lot of people in the regions of Lubuk Antu and Sri Aman in term of welfare aids. at least it is better than nothing, for example a few weeks ago our department distribute some sugar, coffee, maggie mee, cooking ustensil, used clothing and many more to the recent fire victims.

They buy ration 1000K from China pasar Lubok Antu. Actually the price is 400 RM only. 600 RM is gone no where.
This is always happen in my area, where KEMAS and other welfare Department group misused the public money. Local complain but Council said no evident.

There comes another fool claimed to have a decent Phd qualification, but coming so giving a linear comment which is not much different from mine.
Perhaps we should visit his blog if he cares enough to discuss things with us. As for as I know, giving such a linear comment, without much elaboration is an another cowardly act. It does not help to improve the substance of the discussion. Instead .it just leads us to nowhere.
If I were a person claimed to possess such qualification, I do not feel I should hide all the knowledge that I have. Share it with the poor. Why must we keep them to ourselves. It would be more appropriate to share them with the poor, esp the Iban who always look like a bunch od bloody fools when dealing with others, esp the the government dept and its agencies. I deal with the Ibans as well as the other races. But I feel sorry to say that my fellow Iban community is rather disappointingly behind other races in terms of thinking. The Ibans are easily fooled. Other races are not as easy as us. I do not mean to become a racist. The reality says it all.
There are so many examples that I have seen. I may have contributed a little to solve them but it is with all sincerity. I do not have to be a dr as I have not struggled hard enough to be so.
I like what the guy from this welfare dept has done eventhough he has employed a different approach and from a different perspective whenlooking at things to assit others. What counts is the wellbeing of the intended beneficiaries of his efforts, however small they may be.
Giving lip services shall never a question. It depends so much on the one who is giving it. Is there any credibility in what he tries to envisage?. Do you think that he is a reasonable man to carry and lead us forward, esp the Ibans who are amongst the most backward race in the nation?. Lip services in some cases are things to be welcomed. It is improper for you not to tell the person who would almost likely to lose something detrimental to himself when depiving others of getting advice when you are in a proper position to do so.
Therefore, a dr coming to give a linear comment is much to be desired. I guess he himself is a PhD holder as a PERMANENTLY HAZARDOUS DAYAK.

Please DB, be an open mind on education. I always admired those who possessed the PHD. We must praise the BN govt for the open policy on education since early 1980s.
In early days, it is indeed limited place to study in university. In late 1960s and early 1970s, only handful of Sarawakian went to local university, and much more limited places for overseas.
Nowadays there are so many private colleges to continue the education to university level. In Kuching for example, the private college such Segi, TAR, Inti and Sedaya…plus many more. The Bachelor, Master and PHD courses are just at the door step. Even you can get your degree at your finger tip through internet.
As the result of the BN open policy on education, they are so many dayak (mostly DB group) got their PHDs. They are namely Dr John B., Dr P. Mangul, Dr. Dusut Jail. These people are great Dayak and holding high position in the govt and society which we ordinary Dayak must respect. Other PHD holders are namely Dr Datu Naik, Dr Charly Dindang and Dr Cundang.
IF NOT BECAUSE OF BN OPEN EDUCATION SYSTEM, these dayak friends could not have obtained their PHD at their finger tip.
SO, WHY COMPLAIN ABOUT BN… YOU ARE SEPERTI KACANG LUPAKAN KULIT.
But, the scenario is indeed different for those obtained PHD in the field of science. You have to perform your experiment in the university laboratory before you postulated propose your model or interpretation to satisfy the university senate; especially in the public university, like UK, Australia and Japan.
The PHD is obtained mainly through laboratory works. In most cases, such as in Japan and US, it is a must for the PHD candidate to publish his work in international journal, before being awarded the PHD degree. There is no short cut in science PHD. The dayak friends who performed 3 years experiments in the laboratory are namely Dr PE (our fnmous STATIGRAPHER cum BD blogger), Dr Ngenang, Dr Luly Miling and Dr Peter Kedit.
I guessed Dr PE ( papong engkilu), your PHD was trough hard work , analysing petroleum bearing sediment in offshore.

This type of comment is totally out of dated and short sighted. The comment measures the constribution of the people only by money and trying to thwisted the facts.
I believe that when we go to school our teacher teach us and give us knowledge, spirit of living, discipline even some experience. He very seldom gives you money or property. This knowledge now a day is the biggest property we have until all of us can speak, write, read and thinking wisely to do our job as well put our idea in this blog.
In this situation I hope DL group know very well that the knowledge, information, idea, experience and mentally force is a great property that DB constribute thro this blog to our people.
Now, day by day, there are new DB are coming to this blog and most of them appreciate the gift that DB delivered.
In term of mentally force, DB has done a great job in Lubok Antu, campaign against gomen and force gomen promise to provide 80M acts which is going to turn to property. This is some of the hundreds example that DB constribute to our people include Lubok Antu.
One of the greatest constribution that DB delivered to our people is correct information, correct political vent, correct mindset, correct culture, correct social economy, correct fighting spirit and etc. If DB unable to give all of these that mean DB is failed.
It is totally BN job to constribute physical contribution such as infrastructure and ration to desaster victim to our people as they hold the people money and lead the gomen. If BN unable to constribute it, that means BN is in failure position.
I can feel that this type of comment is sense of scary of correct information, correct political vent that DB constribute to our people.
Lastly, I hope our leader in BN do not onboard of the leader begging for food from UMNO/Taib and supporting UMNO/Taib by killing his own people in order to keep UMNO/Taib gives him food.
When someone has a PhD cert with Dr in front of his name, he is seen as standing at the peak of a mountain and everyone who is below him look up at him on th top. That means, he can produce good ideas from his quality brain. Munyi ku Igat DL, it’s a hard work to obtain PhD cert though many facilities are atdoor step or at finger tips. So, if such a person is giving silly comment here, he is found not up to the standard of his cert or Dr in front of his name. Be wise with your PhD status. Don’t show stupidity/silliness here. Or else others will accuse one of plagiarism to get the PhD cert. It’s OK for Manang Empangau coz he does not have such qualification; he is only a fifth form dropout many years ago. That’s why he become a manang, helping to eradicate naughty antu buyu.

i have long admired people with ph.d. i meant a genuine ph.d
but nowadays no more, sorry Doc. it is because for just a few reasons which is their ph.d are not to the standard, well it was obtained by buying and doing a little practical works form the unknown university after going aboard for a few months and attending a few lectures, for example univeristy of blancast blankard,texas.US, never heard of it.
well next to i heard a hearsay, even a dropped out form 5 can obtain a ph.d in this state if he/she is willing to depart with rm10,000.00 without doing anything, well their called it “through experience/specialist in your own field” just look for the agent of this particular unversity then your are own your way to the moon of ph.d. did’nt it surprise you manang empangau?

Nowadays the university authority simply awards Dr to anyone including those who didn’t even complete a form three education but a multi millionaire or powerful figure. That’s a token for being successful in the world of politics or business. It’s alright they use Dr in their name but their brain quality must be proven by the way they share and giving brilliant ideas. Some Dr simply mukut dinding when reading another Dr whom he does not agree with. That reflects a low quality Dr.

there are 2 types of doctor. one is doctor bebuntas and the other is doctor of philosofi.
usually doctor of philosofi mukut dinding when he come to the conclusion why 1+1 is not 11 but,
1+1=2. but doctor bebuntas has to perform a miracle surgery on doctor that has ph.damage just to correct a few black and red wires to the fuse. often the fuse will blown up, if is overheated.
but lucky we two manang, especially you manang, your technics of healing does’nt need all these sharp tools to perform surgegy.
