Change WE Must (2)?

Written by Dr. John Brian Anthony

Reminder

Many who follow and participated in this blog are not involved in politics. Some do have an interest in politics and most have an interest to talk about the way forward albiet in snail pace manner. Education and understanding of certain issues are important to in order to draw their own conclusion and personal action.

The articles in this blog differ 100% from the BN mainstream newspaper, radio etc. It put perspective on many issues and not parrot reporting. Therefor, it falls under the category of scholarly discussion minus those one /two liner negative and judgemental comment without an argument. We must first learn to be civil and purposeful in our discussion. The final conclusion drawn from such discussion is left to the individual intellect.

DB is not a political party with organization structure with responsibility and implementation mechanism. It is a BLOG  for discussion. We will need to respect all views that are being presented in an intelligent manner. DB remain inclusive of all views.

Disillusionment

Many present their views of being disillusion with the BN government. We cannot expect the government to solve all problems and nor we expect them to.

Nevertheless Dayakbaru believed in PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY, HARDWORK and SELF-RELIANCE to make ourselves and country successful. We do not like to see our money wasted in such Sarawak Silicon Valley project, Bakun cost over-run, Port Klang Free Zone projects and Federal Project allocation that is being diverted and siphoned off by certain people in Sarawak.

Globalization

Globalization has changed the world. The government has to makje amny adjustment and so are the people of this country.

We must have policies that reflect the best value of Malaysia. What are not the best policy now: racial harmony are disrupted by BTN, racial supremacy of Ketuanan Melayu, religious intolerance by UMNO on the use “allah” by Christian to label their god and their narrow view of the world through the eye of ONE race.

What can we do?

In Sarawak we can choose to do nothing while BN few cronies and family interest of top politician rob us of our land, steal our heritage (graveyards etc) give out our wealth to the wealthy.

We must stand for those political struggle that commit themselves to use our natural wealth to create jobs, increase our assets and its value, proper and systematic health service for all strata of our society, be inclusive in our educaytional policies and practices, etc.

Why do we give money to people who are already rich?

The Choices is ours

We all have experience hard days and shared failure. No matter how great the challenge we faced and how difficult our circumstances, change is always possible if we are willing to work for it, fight for it and above all believe in it. I want you to deliver your vote to a those who have the will to make the change.

Change WE Must

For us in Sarawak these are the major reasons why Change WE Must.

  • WE must fight for greater autonomy for Sarawak and Sabah.
  • We must fight to end racial and religious profiling
  • stop giving our wealth to the rich and powerful
  • to meet the needs of our people to have a secured future
  • to win over more democratic rights for our people

Conclusion

We choose to make Malaysia our home. If that is so then we better have policies, value systems and governmnet and governance that will bring our country to greater height by working together as a people – Ketuan Rakyat.

great ideas doc! i don’t mine to change, i meant changing of mindset not the other changing if it’s the best option for the bettermen of dayaks as a whole.

doc and fellow DB, is there any other way beside GE come this 2011 for Change We Must to take effect for the changing of regime? Referendum maybe.

well, as a kerani opis welfare either party is in power does’nt make any difference. but the duty and task must be carried on without prejudice, fear or favour.

We Iban/dayaks should change in line with the BN agenda. The slogan should be ” Perintah Barisan Nasional Mai Pemansang “. If you divert from the BN political motto and think PR will do similarly it is just a dream. I think excessive dreams will not do you good because you are living in fantasist. Most of what DB said are fantasist such as.

    a) Iban king/prime minister/chief minister if Malaya is willingly giving full autonomy/independent without shed a single drop of blood.

    b) Free of racial friction in the multi racial society.

    c) No rich and no poor as all the same. The imagination of living in the kingdom of God in the holy books.

    d) Perfect Gomen.

All this is only possible in a dream. Long wet dream.

The year almost come to an end….but there is no sign/news on “Tinting Tinjau” Anybody out there in the know?

  4. Deo on December 14th, 2009 3:35 pm

    Hello Kaban Belayan,

Depend on the type of changes!!!!Changes for the better then continuing supporting the gomen of the day is preferred….on the one hand if the expected changes is for the worst then throwing your support for the opposition with no track record(like the BN)may be the answer. So the choice is yours but right thinking Dayaks or DL group will chose the former (BN).

    Hello DB Blogger,

DSAI Enggau PKR, baka landak udah temu bisi baga….baka tenggiling udah temu bisi tisik.

A video dated in the early 1990s, shows Anwar defending Malays’ special privileges and saying these rights should not be questioned by non-Malays (including DB).”Ketuanan Melayu” is his focal and selling point in the vedio which Dayakbaru is helping and trying to promote.

Our Dayak BN YBs are selfish. The given opportunity to be YB becoz they had confused our people with its (political) developement agenda. But are these YB knew that these YB go back to the jungle, to look for foods? The answer is no really. Did they know their people who supported them in the past elections live in hardship, poor, and sadness because they gave full of dreams to be fulfilled by these YBs. Ngagai kitai bala urang rumah panjai, anang guai nyukung BN, laban sida udah besai perut makai mayuh ngena duit kitai raayat tu. Sida dah lantang senang, bisi gaji besai tambah agi bonus ngaga projek, enti kitai agi nyukung sida ya makin tambah agi besai perut sida ya, tambah agi kaya sida ya. Cuba kitai minta nibuh mayuh, sigi dewan serbaguna sigi rumah panjai, ka kah sida ya meri? Sebadau ngundi @ masa kempen ulih la sida madah “au, ila kitai ngaga siti ditu”. tapi udah ngundi udah sida menang bepilih sida madah “agi nganti duit ari mentri”, “agi dalam perancangan” agi nganti kelulusan ari KL”, “ngaga din dulu” atau “kitai ngaga ti penting dulu”.

Nog bara ata re-o di kapong mita projek ti turung ata udip senang, mita karan, paip, tar aran kapong ata, tar aran adi patut, ndai pasar di kawasan kapong supaya senang ata di ka kedei, mirih barang.mita pan nadi gereja, skura, dewan, atau anih adi patut supaya kawasan ata rabih maju so adin.

To Dayak YBs, please connect each other YBs with roads or even railways to the interior places like Kelabit highlands or Bario. To me an rural railways can increasing economical potential to the interior places. It also can be one of interest value of tourist to the interior or most rural places. Even though our present CM had makes Mukah to be a city by 2020, so our Dayak YBs shall have a dream or even more in their constitution by starting a draft of the future developement in their place. Maybe vision ‘Majukan Sri Aman’ Phase I,II,III and so on. Or even dreaming of Serian or Selangau to be a city in 2030 by phases. Or even one division, one university by 2040. Or one rumah panjai one public hall by 2015.

    For our future, our rights.

Anybody among the Dayak intellectuals, YBs’ come up with a Blueprint or strategic planning or tactical plan …whatever!! so that we can see a clearer picture of our struggles ahead. Otherwise we are just like a car driver without knowing which destination we are heading for.

  10. dayaklama on December 15th, 2009 10:19 am

Those who want a change must lay down their blueprint. In this case is DB. We keep on asking about this before but no one can come out with the blueprint of change.

  11. Dr. John Brian Anthony on December 15th, 2009 11:48 am

DL – Dayakbaru is a BLOG site, not a political party. We talks of ways to move forward. We also discuss what hinders us from moving forward. Sometimes we get very specifics in order to have a clearer picture of our situation and environment.

You want a blue print, please talk to Baru Bian. I am sure PKR / PR blue print is to take over the government of sarawak from PBB / BN and you know I am just guessing – there is a possibility of a RED PRINT, to take back all that Taib has taken.

Philippine took back all that Ferdinand Marcos has taken well before he died.

I am sure PBB / BN has a blue print – if you go to Forestry or land and Survey, all lands including Forest Reserves has been taken by PBB / BN people and even given to West Malaysian UMNO. Some are already given to orang hutan for their home.

For dayak – PBB treat us lesser than Orang Utan – otherwise why are we not given any reserves like Orang Utan. I am not jealous of them as many of them might be registered PBB members you know.

Look at the “undi hantu – postal vote” might be actually orang utan voting.

DL – do you want that proof too? I mean all the plantation areas (PL) that has been given out, the Timber areas, Replanting areas, Dams – that would be very damaging to boss taib, you party PBB and a sure way to lose your coming election.

Yes Dayak Baru in this blog are political minded and team up to eliminate Dayaklama(s) whose ideas are outdated = “crab mentality” and dress in “cawat”.

  14. John Hock on December 15th, 2009 4:49 pm

    Dear DL&DB,

It is clear that DB has an agenda for Dayak ie Dayak Agenda…for improving Dayaks in various aspects of live. May be DL has a better agenda for Dayak compared to DB. Anyone from DL can comment on this, please.

  15. Iban Militant on December 15th, 2009 8:43 pm

No doubt, majority of the educated Ibans had changed their mindset i.e not to be spoon-fed (ngarap & ngandar ke disapi orang), not so much rely on jobs available in government agencies, not to wait for MRP and of course stay away from the corrupted BN.

I think our main obstacles ahead to face the kurap BN in the next election are:
    1. Dayaklama (mentality) making propaganda of ANANG ngelaban perintah, BN is always right. They can give directive to Ketua masyarakat not to entertain opposition campaigners/ candidates coming to longhouses for campaign.

    2. Each & everyone of TR has absolute power/ right to influence his anembiak to reject any opposition coming to the longhouse because TR felt indebted of the monthly allowance.

    3. Dayaklamas have all the means to atttack & counter-attack the opposition because all govt facilities (transportation, media, public places, police & armies are their personal bodyguards) are under their control, they have our tax money to do all the tricks/ cheats/ empty promises etc.

If DB can tackle/ solve/ beat the above obstacles BN Sarawak will definitely lose in the next state election like other states in the peninsular.

Keep on arguing here is good but we the DB must be practically prepared to face BN if we want to beat them once and for all ages.

Enti sida BN nemu baka ke udah…rekak ulih kitai

  16. Iban Militant on December 15th, 2009 8:48 pm

    Correction

Enti sida BN nipu baka ke udah….

  17. BlackJack on December 15th, 2009 9:42 pm

I am so glade full that we can talk freely on matters concerning the interest of the Dayak here. but what I have read are mostly Q & A format and personal interest only.
coz our Govem is Democracy one. Democracy ?
Democracy is a modern illusion and the biggest invocation to hide the Egoistic intentions that govem has. It’s true. You read lines of History of projects, promises and everywhere are lies. But somehow people believe that society has changed. Maybe society have changed but the one’s sitting downwards on us hasn’t !!! to be free, no……

    so change we must.

  18. Lachung Ajak on December 16th, 2009 6:36 am

Change we must. Very simple. Change the present government through election process, thus all dayakbaru must vote out the present BN leaders.

    Why talking high and low????

  19. Pengajar Udah Pencen on December 16th, 2009 10:14 am

    LA
I fully support your idea. Our primary goal is to DEMOLISH the present government.DB are fully prepared to let the momentum move in synchronized tandem.

So let’s get started. You can share your ideas (blue print)with other DB supporters BUT never leak ANYTHING to all the Dayaklamas.

    Yes Change We Must!!!!!

  20. Ugly msian on December 16th, 2009 10:57 am

    Did I read correctly?
Some orang utan (simply – monkeys )came out of their sanctuary. These monkeys were the smarter ones as when they went to the polling votes, they dressed up as PBB members! Hah…hah!

BTW, even smarter ones join DB discussion’s and addressed themselves as DL. Fuh!

  21. John Hock on December 16th, 2009 12:55 pm

    Pengajar,

The best thing to be done by DL is to reveal their “Blue Print” so that people can assess it and compare it against their performances especially in improving the standard of living of the Dayak community.

DL – u need to intensify efforts to reduce rural-urban migration of the Dayaks. I think u know well the reasons for rural-urban migration among Dayaks. My answer is…your program for improving the living standard of rural community has not achieved its target…Why? DL have to explain the reason.

    Cheers,

    John Hock
