Change We Must – the tips to do it

Posted by: GKM 2020

My thought:

Change….??? Are we shifting focus or simply “change”?

Change comes in different forms; habit, organization, management, leadership, social, cultural, politics, economic and environment.

Change need mapping

If Change just a hearsay the future remain bleed with poverty. Change without mapping your bearing, you’re going no where. Are serious about Change or “walk-the-talk”? Change needs leadership model.

Change Need Action

Change would not be effective if there’s no action and without “initiatives”. Change alone is not enough if we do not have the solution for change.

Change Need Direction

Change is not enough for the sake of change. Change is not enough if there’s no real direction for change.

Change need Integrity and will power

Change would not be achievable if there are no initiatives on change and we lack of integrity, trust, integration and remain divided in our ideology and belief/faiths.

Change can never be achieved if we are racist and ignore trust, transparency, feasibility, cooperation, commitment and tolerance. Change and transformation is available and possible, if one is willing to work at it.

Change Need Objective

Change will not come to you if there’s no Social, Politics, Economic, Education, Development (SPEED) true policies, framework and objective(s).

We cannot achieve change if we lack of foundation, unity, perseverance and mutual understanding to implement Change.

Many of us are nervous to make changes in the way we do things right now.

Change is difficult when you are in comfort zone

Change isn’t always easy when people already established in their comfort zone. Some may not adapt easily or may not want to take the journey with you, but only YOU know what is best for your “Change We Must” version.

Change need total  commitment

You truly need a total commitment to reverse their 47 years of “old box mindset”. To change who we are, we must change our character, leadership and habit. To change our character we must decide to raise our standards.

Consideration for Change

Here are a few things that we all need to consider before making a “Big Change”:

What do we need to do, or have in place, before making the change?

Plan

Is our plan sound? Do we have wrap-up to do on older projects before we can start implementing our new one? Do we have any idea how long it will take, and are we truly prepared to follow through?

Resources

Do we have enough money/fund in reserve, expertise, machineries, just in case it doesn’t work out?

Consequences

What is the worst that could happen, if we do, or don’t do this?

Write down specifically what we have to lose by making this change (money, teams, grassroots, time, network, affiliates/alliances, etc) and whether or not it is worth the risk. It is also vital to consider the cost of NOT making this change.

If you back out, will you regret it later? Will your happiness and well-being suffer? Now’s the time for a good “gut check”

Who is with you on this?

Are there others who need to be informed and do you have their support? How do you plan to announce this change to them?

Are there key players you need to have in place before you can take another step? Who can you rely upon to help you stay on track, keep you accountable, back-up, re-enforce and support you when you’re down, or out of your element in this new venture?

Make the leap

Change is hardly ever easy, but it’s always a good thing when it keeps you happy, fulfilled, progressive, creative and competitive. So, follow your gut, ask yourself some serious questions, make a plan, and then leap!

Ultimately, what you gain from making positive, well-planned changes in your mission/dream, however big or small, will far out-value any short-term disadvantages or difficulties.

There is a saying I have adopted as a personal motto, “We don’t know what we don’t know”…”Jangan Cakap Tak Serupa Bikin”…

What should we do?

None of us has all the answers or make all the right decisions. But we can learn how to tap into the resources available for us to change our thinking, our attitude, responses and our future.

If you want others to believe in and/or follow you, then you must these 3x basic criteria:

Criteria

1. Responsibility and accountability-

We must learn to take responsibility and accountability for leadership. There are many who want authority, but are not willing to take responsibility for authority. That is leadership. “The buck stops here”.

One person taking responsibility for leadership can be revolutionary. It can bring radical positive change to a stagnant environment.

Those we are responsible for will respect a leader who stands up for them and behind them. When we fail, it is the leaders’ fault – when we achieve success it is shared by all.

2. A sense of unrest- leaders are never satisfied with the status quo.

They are ever seeking, searching, striving for excellence. Have you ever wondered why every time you go somewhere, you want to change the way it is done, make it better? That is normal for the true leader.

We can always see ways to “do it better” because that’s the way we were made. It is a sense of unrest. We just want to “fix” it.

3. A heart for people

People will not willingly follow someone they don’t believe truly cares about them as a person. People are important.

It is the responsibility of the leader to provide genuine encouragement, a learning environment, materials for the task and empowerment to do the job.

If those we lead do not think we want them to succeed, and provide them with what they need to do so, together we will fail.

Change WE Must

To “Change We Must” – we must be willing to change for real not just change today but tomorrow no change. Vital to tapping into this inner potential is the willingness and ability to grow personally, commonly and organizationally.

We must be teachable and reachable. To create real change in our lives, we must apply knowledge, skill, talent, creativity, innovation and create an experience around it.

Thank you.

Will BN leadership/Dayak Lama change if it means eating up or reducing its profit margin? No, BN/Dayaklama will never think of change as along as long the current process bring tham many more “untong atas angin”.

The famous teaching of BN, “You People/Raayat at our heart do what we instructed you what to do but don’t do what we do” What we do is making as much as possibe “untong atas angin”

    Dear DB readers,

In order to have a clear direction, the Dayak must have a proper framework for change. I personally believe they have. The initiative towards the intended change has been started by DB. It is a positive move that begins with the Bloggers and it will spread to the community (info sharing). It is not an easy task to change the mind set of people and it may take a long time to shape their thinking.

In fact there are people who afraid / resist / not willing to change because they are satisfied with the present conditions. Contrarily, those who are not satisfied, will demand for changes in terms of political power, economic power, social hierarchy, etc. Why? The answer is clear…because they know what is going on in their society..and thus, try to improve the situation so that the next generations will not suffer as result from the decisions that they make today.

    Cheers,

    John Hock

    gkm and friends;

I know that somewhere out there among you are smart and intelligent individuals who are capable enough to initiate and lead the ‘CHANGE’ process.BUT be always reminded that there are many ‘to be’ saboteurs around you.So be more discreet in your discussions.

Never disclose every detail in your comments in the blog.I suppose you have already identified who are friends and who are you foes.Probably you can start with a ‘closed door’ discussion.

    But Change We Must.

    To all Children of God,

Any form of “Changes” must be blessed. The scripture told us the need for theological CHANGES. : The Change require by Jesus consists of two parts: radically turning away from anything that is ungodly, and turning to God and doing the works of righteousness.

This changes is necessary because by nature we follow a way of life that leads away from God and toward eternal death (Ro 1:18-31)

Yes, change we must. After 46 years we have been ruled by the BN government, you have to decide, whether:-

    i. BN is truly understand the pulse of the rakyat?

ii.Non-Malays have been marginalised and sidelined by BN in the implementation of government policies?

iii.BN government free of corruption, partiality and favouritism?

If you think so, why wait, change we must.

Thanking God for giving as one more day to enjoy life. Each new day is a miserable. Do not allow our thoughts, feelings and actions to be negatively affected by futile speculations of BN that may threaten our present happiness. If your present under BN government is not as satisfying as you and your family want it to be, then do something about your disatisfaction and change in an instant with a positive attitude, that is vote for the party which you think can serve you better comes election.

Let your mind map out the kind of future you and your family want. If you wish to be happy, healthy and wealthy, then tell your mind so.Believe strongly and sincerely that everything is possible. Expect only the best and the brightest kind of future for yourself and family. Then you ask yourself, whether you and your family, the right of every citizen are protected, guaranteed and respected as provided by the constitution under BN government now? If you think not, then we need change in the government.

    MJC,
Please do not bring religion into this blog. You said all changes must be blessed by GOD.Whose God? Ibans are not allowed to pray to Allah anymore…In my own case, I would have preferred being born a Malay and automatic Muslim so I can benefit from the UMNO- powered gomen.

Religion teaches that one should treat and respect fellow human equally. There is no mention of Ketuanan Melayu in the KITAB?

It is only right that I demand for my right as a human. You say i have no right? Mind you, Jesus grant me my right and yours as well.Just do not misuse your rights.

A physical change is to engage oneself seriously in the politic of development. A few tips to follow:
    a) Don’t go against the BN gomen policies.
    b) Always remember that what gomen do is for the benefit of everyone.
    c) 1Malaysia campaign not to popularize the PM but but is a serious step to make BN stronger.
    d) Less politicking but instead just follow the existing policies in place.
    e) Always put in your mind that those people who had been appointed as ministers are much better than we are or else we could have been there. Never show your sour brinjal face to those ministers.
