MACC – what is going on?

Lodging a Report with MACC
On 3 December 2009, Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat Youth Leader, lodged a report at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya asking them to investigate private investigator P. Balasubramaniam’s latest revelation implicating Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s family in covering up the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu. In response to this report, the MACC asked Shamsul to help locate Bala and to make him available for questioning.
MACC has been informed
On 4 December 2009, Bala’s lawyer, Americk Sidhu, sent Abdul Rahman Bachok, the investigating officer from the MACC, an e-mail informing him that he is prepared to assist the MACC in securing Bala’s attendance at any interview the MACC would like to have with him, but under certain conditions.
Verification
On 8 December 2009, lawyer Americk received a phone call from Abdul Rahman Bachok on his mobile phone enquiring whether it was really him who sent that e-mail on 4 December 2009. Americk confirmed that he did and reiterated the contents of the e-mail and suggested that Abdul Rahman respond to it immediately.
Still no response from MACC
However, there was no response from Abdul Rahman, so on 10 December 2009 Americk sent him another email confirming their telephone conversation of 8 December 2009 plus reiterating what he had said in his first e-mail and, again, requested an immediate response.
Until today there is still no response from Abdul Rahman or the MACC and it appears like they are stumped and do not know what to do. To respond would mean that the MACC would have to meet Bala and take his statement, which is clearly something they would not like to do.
MACC cannot stamp NFA ( No Further Action) on the file now
The MACC was hoping that Shamsul would not be able to contact Bala and this would mean they could conveniently close the file and declare that they can’t proceed any further since Bala can’t be contacted. But now, since Bala’s lawyer Americk has already communicated with them and has offered to arrange a meeting so that they can take Bala’s statement, they are not able to close the file and stamp it NFA (no further action).
MACC cannot close the file
But what do they do? They can’t close the file on the excuse that Bala can’t be contacted since his lawyer has already got in touch with the MACC. Yet they do not dare meet Bala to take his statement as this will not augur well for the Prime Minister. So now they are running around like headless chickens and are praying hard that the matter will die a natural death and Malaysians will soon enough forget about the whole matter.
MACC – how to response?
But the matter will not go away. The MACC has no choice but to respond to Americk’s e-mails. It is just that they are still deciding on how to respond without hurting the future of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.
Damned
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t — either way the MACC is dammed. And this would mean the damnation of their boss the Prime Minister as well.
Ooo, I just love the way this is turning out
Dayakbaru:
Well this is all very confusing. By the rule of thumb – i do not trust MACC because they have been made a tool by the BN government for many things. Least of all is to protect BN power abuse and money corruption.
We still remember Khir Toyo, Khairy Jamaluddin, Ali Rustam, too many to include here.

An official report was lodged by a member of public, thus MACC must act promptly to investigate the case if the commission want to become the voice of society by performing its duty according to the law based on justice and the rule of law.
MACC by hook and by crook has to locate a crucial witness P.I. Bala, even its investigating officer of the case has to go overseas. What is the problem with that? How come MACC asked the complainant of the case to bring the witness to them? MACC action only can be seen as not interested to investigate the case and the public may assume that there could be ” cover up ” just because it involved the Prime Minister.
On public scepticism, there is a lot more scepticism then confidence in MACC ability to carry out its mandate – consistency by its action.
DAYAKBARU, SAPA KE BEDAU MEDA TAU CHECK YOUTUBE TENGKU RAZALEIG HAMZAH ISU ROYALTI MINYAK
MACC is good in twisting the facts of case especially when it involves politicians. One good example is the case of T Beng Hock.
MACC acts very fast to carry out investigation if the case involves the opposition eg: change of land status in Penang. We hope MACC will do the same to the cases in Sarawak particularly the proposal for construction of fly over at Jalan Song, Kuching & the change of land usage ie from agricultural to hotel/commercial near BDC.
May be MACC should also find out how the children of YBs accumulate so much money right after they complete their studies overseas…what are the sources of their income? May be they do part time job overseas, but definitely it is not sufficient to make million of RM.
Cheers,
John Hock
MACC will never be neutral because they want to survive. The relatives of Teo Beng Hock should just take the law into their hands and kill the MACC Chief otherwise they will sweep the whole thing under the carpet again.
Since there is no justice, we have to do something ouselves after this. Look at the two policemen who were said to have killed Altantuya. Any reasons why they should kill Altantuya ? The relatives should just kill all those behind this, don’t wait for justice in this hopeless country. You will never have it!
DayakLama…this is the world that you want..the BN world where there is window dressing MACC, Kangloo Court of Malaysia. Tax payers money is used to pay these agency to continue to enforcing BN’s Agenda and you said DB is jealous of all.
DB doesn’t jealous of doing something which is wrong but can make right by the MACC and Kangloo court.
Oh Kaban Dayaklama…this is what you want our next generation to live on.
i think MACC is still relevance and fair to every party while doing their investigations’
most of the MACC officers are people like you and me who fear God and want justice to be done.
it is easy to say something bad toward them just because we dislike them.
if one is still doubful, confusion or has bad perceiption toward MACC, i guess he or she should check it up with psychiatrist in Mile 7.
there shouldn’t be any doubt.
Kerani Opis Welfare
is that all you got to say?? anybody can say something bad toward MACC, regardless of wether they are insane or normal.
i like MACC but i talk bad things about them. i never see a psychiatrist. i like it this way.
people are demonizing MACC everyday.
so what can you do about it?
kerani opis welfare,
I think you yourself should go for a psychiatrist check up, because for you everything is good. You will say snake and mosquito are also good.
How to look after the welfare of the people?
Don’t trust MACC to solve all those cases till the end of the earth. They are just as corrupted as those they cover up.
Why not surf MT.Harapanmalaysia.com to read more about how incapacitated MACC and Malaysia is ?
As far as complaints against those IN THE CORRIDOR OF POWER, MACC is as good as DEAD and NON-EXISTENT.
Well we are living in BOLEHLAND.But Change We Must.
Hello Kaban Blogger,
MACC staffs are under BN gomen payroll. They will not bite the hand that feed them. Its only proper that they go for anti-establishment people like most DB and gang.
Its all the same…Dr.JBA I am sure prefer DB than DL to post in this blog….coz all DB are “yes” and only follow instruction. As DL are all under Yangdikasihi payroll they can open criticise in this blog.
Nya aja kaban.
Dear Dr. John,
1. The Bumiputras have been broken down into the various racial groups and the Dayaks too into Iban, Bidayuh, Kayan/Kenyah and so on.
2. Why not you break-down the Chinese into, the Hokkiens, the Foochows, the Teochews, the Hakkas, the Hinhuas and the Cantonese and so on.
3. To be fair to the Chinese, your question should be who benefited the most from BN Government, the Malays, Melanaus, the Dayaks and the Chinese? Who benefited the least from the BN Government from the above groups?
4. I think you know the answers to the above, in your heart of hearts. Being a good Christian, especially during this time of Advent, you should own up.
5. The number of Chinese Malaysians who left Malaysia and Sarawak speak for itself. They could not bear to see the injustice caused to them and the imbalance treatment they were receiving. Try to talk to some of them when you have the chance, you may feel sorry for them as you are feeling sorry for the Dayaks. They left for injustice more than anything else.
6. Have a heart Dr. John. Don’t just look at the handful rich Chinese. Look farther and identify the many thousands and thousands or poor Chinese too. 99.9% of the Chinese are poorer than the twenty top rich Iban, not counting the other rich Dayaks. Can anyone name 30 rich chinese in Sarawak richer than Tan Sri Alfred Jabu, Tan Sri Leo Moggie and Datuk Amar Leonard Linggi?
7. Some of these Chinese were rich before the formation of Malaysia but before the formation of Malaysia, how many Iban were rich?
8. Traditionally, the Chinese are businessmen and only businessmen are rich. The Dayaks, Malays and Melanaus are Johnnys-come-lately. But they are now so many rich Melanaus, Malays and Dayaks. My guess is the richest man in Sarawak is not a Chinese. Don’t you agree. He could be an Iban or a Melanau!
9. If the BN Government has benefited the Iban a lot, please be kind enough to say so. I think it has, compared with the 100 years rule by the White Rajahs and British Government.
God bless the Iban and other Dayaks.
Merry Christmas.
Agee with Apai Mingul.
For Kerani opis, you should go to check your state of mental health. Your comments cofirm that you need psychiatric help before you could be one of those who roam the road and street barefooted.
Equaliser, I don’t see any relevancy of your comments which we discuss here. We are talking about MACC here and those in the corrior of power. Why talk about racial issue here.
Are you also sick like Kerani Opis?
merakat anak Piun,
Bukit Aman is still monitoring the seditious nature of your previous posting… I hope you don’t drag other DB into the lock-up.I hope you also cooperate when asked by the autorities to give statement.
Equaliser: Are you comparing apple to apple? You confused me when you said Chinese left to migrate because they felt unfairly treated.
Borneo is the land of Dayak. Do you find Dayak in numbers in any other part of the world except West Malaysia.
Poor Chinese do not migrate. It is the rich Chinese. they make money out of malaysia and then run to the rest of the world. how many rich Dayak has migrated bringing their money with them.
You know how selfish Chinese are.I know you asked for statistics – the people with the highest literacy rate is Chinese, the highest saving rate is cHinese, many more which i felt I need list it down. There are some poor Chinese compared to majority of Dayak are poor.
With Dayak support – after the Chinese of Sarawak surrendered their arm struggle against the government in Sarawak SUPP claimed to have Dayak component. How many dayak has been made full Minister by SUPP.
Equalizer – the next election is the end of SOUP. A better set of Chinese, better policies and believe system will emerge. The current Chinese in SUPP is too SOMBONG and PENIPU.
Macc is another responsible gomen body to help in looking at the interest of the ruling gomen. They have their role to play to ensure that 1Malaysia slogan under PM Najib is achieveable. Gomen responsibility is to look after the interest of the rakyat and Macc is there to ensure that the rakyat abide by the law and not practice corruption. Why DB doubt the intergrity of Macc who are ever ready to do as instructed by the gomen.
It was the idea of the ministers in the BN gomen to upgrade Macc from an ordinary ACA and bestow them with power to be more effective. Let Macc do their job and if Balaraban snake is responsible enough he should not hide in deep hole and ask another snake as a messenger. His action is just luring the prey and set an ambush to kill his enemy in a cowardly way. This the tactic of “kayau anak” in Iban language.
This is the dirty tactic by the opposition to bring alive the already dead and rotten story because they are as same sour grape as DB.
to the most of DB folks,
i don’t see why we should scare of MACC and speak bad things about them.
unless we have something to hide or doing corrupted business.
if it is the case, than you have a BIG problems not only you scare of the MACC but rather GOD, who knew everthing what you DB are doing.
please dayak baru REPENT before it is to late, you soul need to be purified.
take the first step, seek the “psychiatrist in Mile 7.”
And YOU will be THANK DL GROUP for its, believed its!
infact it is a small favour from DL on a humanitarian basis to poor DB.
i am an atheist, and i like to speak bad things about MACC. i am simple minded man who have nothing to hide, and furthermore i have no business skill and knowledge either.
MACC get their paycheck from BN gomen, what a stupid joke. All public SERVANTS are paid by Malaysian Taxpayers monies.Do not try to CONFUSE others if you are totally CONFUSED yourself.
Do not blunder just to POLISH balls.
Change we must.
Dear DBs,
It is an absolute naivity to claim that MACC are under the BN payroll. Please do not try to confuse people that they are paid by the government as the monies are clearly coming from the taxpayers. The government is only collecting and redistributing the funds back to the public.
I always try to explain to the folks that just because the government provide infrastructure, educational facilites and others, does not mean that it must be supported. The idea of “please do not bite the hand that feed you” is not applicable. It must be thrown out of our mind. When your father or mother is giving you money and at the same time provoke you, only an idiot will say that he is still supporting him.
For me, I support whatever is good, fair and just only. People living and behaving with self enrichment motive shall never get my support. People talking with an unclear mind, for which most our Iban Ybs seem to be doing should not be given a helping hand.
MACC has been doing some great work. However there are so much room for improvement. Perhaps, they ought to get some more big sharks in addition to a Tan Sri Kasitah Kadam in Sabah. It seems now that MACC is always chasing after small fry only; a work carried out just for the sake of it.
DL and the rest of the fools,
Please do not give reactionary comments to neutralise us just for the sake of doing it. Dbs want logical comments complete with some senses.
Cheers…
DEO you are a sick man.
ANWAR AS ECONOMIC ADVISER
By Dr. Mahathir Mohamad on November 20, 2009 8:55 AM
1. I would like to thank everyone for their comments on the above. I appreciate very much the positive comments and I accept the negative ones also. I am not perfect. I make mistakes. But some of the wrongdoings attributed to me are just not true or correct.
2. We see what we want to see. Everyone is like that. So do I. But I try my best to be factual.
3. My greatest mistake is in the choice of people. I seem to be picking the wrong people all the time. They not only did not live up to my expectations but they went all out to do all the wrong things, including abusing me.
4. I accept the blame for making wrong choices. But they were all so good before they were chosen.
5. Anwar was pious and holy almost. Before I admitted him into Umno no one told me of his peculiar inclinations.
6. The other one was known as Mr. Clean. Well he and his family certainly did a lot of cleaning.
7. Awarding privatisation at inflated prices! Well the contract to double track and electrify the railways from Johore Baru to Padang Besar was for RM14 billion (including the spur line to KL). It was cancelled by Abdullah.
8. Then it was found necessary to double track and electrify from Ipoh to Padang Besar. I understand the price is RM12 billion. Work out the new cost if we build up to Johore Baru.
9. Putrajaya and Cyberjaya – bought by the acres. Putrajaya, 10,000 acres for RM700 million or approximately RM17,500 per acre or RM0.43 per square foot.
10. Today average price of Putrajaya land per square foot is RM130.00.
11. Bailout happens when a business receives injection of capital to get over a financial crisis.
12. Selling a business at below cost is not a bailout. It is called a fire-sale. That was what my son had to do. Petronas subsequently sold ¾ of the fleet for more than what it paid for the whole fleet when the market was good.
15. Thank you for agreeing that I am a dictator. Tell me which dictator ever resign.
16. Terima kasih kerana membaca blog saya.
