NEW YEAR 2010 RESOLUTION
Written by gkm2020
Does Bansa Dayak have any New Year 2010 Resolution?
Another New Year is just 3 days away, let us set aside our “politico ideology” and other differences here for the moment.
Let us ponder on this topic as we face a new future NY 2010 and see what is best for our Bansa Dayak i.e. to be at par with others by end of NY 2020? We only have 10 years more to go.
Are we going to continuously pursuing political grievances or finding solutions to resolve and retain our native sovereignty rights and problems?
Can we plan and predict our tomorrow?
Will next year better than this year? Are we locked onto the right direction? Who could be the next Chief Minister of Sarawak? Do we have any alternative plan if we failed in the first quarter? Will Global Warming become worse than ever? Will there be another Global Economic recession and/or terrified war(s)? And so on.
Can we predict the future? Well, each and every one of us has our own Hope, Dream, Vision and Goal, and others have their own Financial Target, Academic Achievement, etc
What is New Year Resolution (NYR)?
Questions: What type of resolution? What is resolution like? What positive resolution? How do you work out resolution? What is the terms and conditions for resolution? What is the effect of a resolution? What is the conclusion of a resolution?
What are the resolutions for Bansa Dayak or members of DayakBaru and DayakLama, and other Dayak NGOs (SDNU, DBNA, SADIA, SGDA, DCCI, etc)?
Each individual/organization has different resolution. NYR is something to do with the followings; (a little tip)
- Plan (short-term, medium-term and long-term)
- Vision/Hope/Dream
- Goal/Objective/Agenda/Program/Target
- Commitment/Commandments
- Decision/Achievement
- Change/Reform/Restructuring
- Positive Thinking/Right Direction
- Save Money & Invest Well
- Get Job & Get Promoted
- Financial Freedom & Debt Free
- Quit Smoking/Drinking & Stay Healthy
- Improve Grades & Pass With Flying Colors
- Do Business & Generate Sustainable Income
- Loss weight & Stay Fit/Fix Well
- Build Wealth & Financial Independence
- My Vote & My Right
- My NCR Land & My Native Title
- My Native Right & My Native Court Right
- Be Proactive & Be Independence
- Social Business & Social Responsibility
- Tolerance & Unity
- Lead & Finish Well
It’s time to plan your New Year Resolution again
As we come to the near end of another year (3 more days to countdown) it’s that predictable time for time to look back over the year and for a better life in 2010.
Are you determined to keep your potentially successful 2010 New Year Resolutions?
If you manage to do well, than 90% of the remaining people have failed. What tips for 2010 and a new you can you list to guarantee successful resolutions to start the New Year? Cheers it with a promised “toast”!
Write down your goals for the New Year and commit to these goals
Tell your family and friends and/or your staffs or downline “grassroots” what are your intentions or agendas and why you want to keep your New Year’s resolutions. Why ones failed because he/she doesn’t take seriousness on his/her resolution(s).
Start with positive and productive mindset NYRs 2010
Start creates a positive plan that will guarantee your success. In your mindset, positive thinking, envision success and step forward into a new challenging future. Look backward understands your failures and move forward in the right path of “success”. Yesterday is memory; tomorrow create your new history.
Decide a Win-Win and Win situation on your NYRs 2010
Decide how to make your 2010 NYRs a “Winner for All” (Win-Win and Win solutions = You Win – Your Family/Staffs/Community Win and Your Organization/Government Win). Let us strive together for success, achievement and victory!
If there are goals that have failed for you in the past, why hang onto them? Create your new goals and your goal list(s), asking yourself the reasons you want to do “what” and/or “why” and whether a goal is in keeping with your daily needs, wants and purposes in life.
We all need reminders and the listed tips for 2010 and a soon to be new you is a good enough reason to list your goals on a bathroom mirror, on your cell phone and any place else you can think of.
You will need to visualize yourself, at least once a day, the end result of following your 2010 New Year’s resolutions.
If a “program” or “schedule” and/or “itinerary” is already in place, attach your goal to it. That way you will be reminded of your successful 2010 New Year’s resolutions and be more apt to follow your commitment for the New Year. Look at your NYR foresight always.
New Year is a time for new resolutions – New Vows
The vowing that you really will and want to keep them; are you setting unachievable or unrealistic goals which you expect to achieve with very little effort on your part?
If so, what can you do this year to make it more likely that will really reap the benefits of thinking over the way you’d like life to be? What can you do with your challenges and how can you deal differently with them next year?
- Set a holistic goal: A true goal is holistic, meaning you set a lifestyle goal. If your goals are not connected to a lifestyle, or the lifestyle you wish to live, than you are just aiming for a material type of a goal.
- Change routine to positive mental habit: We all have habits that form our personality. Habits allow us to carry out activity without conscious thought. The biggest drawback to change is that people perceive that who they are at present is how their lives were meant to be. If only they knew how erroneous this is. The root of the problem lies in the way we think. Changing our thoughts will change our routine which in turn will change our lives.
- Counter Intention: Is working on one goal at the expense of another. Do these same things with your three primary one-year goals. Write this all down and look at it every day before you start your day. It is imperative to move your goals from your subjective mind (where you just see them and hopefully Believe them) to your objective mind (where they become solid and real).
- Know your boundaries and get it right, loud and clear: Don’t expect others to be mind-readers. If they don’t seem to understand what you want them to do then maybe you have made assumptions and haven’t been really clear about what you are expecting from them.
- Communicate clearly and prudently: Give a positive feedback or criticize productively if you are not happy with the way someone is behaving. Say something complimentary then get to the point about what it is you really want, finally end on something positive about them.
- Be responsible for yourself rather than everyone else: You can’t be responsible for others. You may be avoiding doing something you want to do because you think someone will be upset. Tell them what you are going to do then do it and allow them the chance to deal with it in their own way.
- Improve your self-care and self-confidence: Stop neglecting your own needs for care of your body, mind and spirit in whatever ways are good for you. Having good healthy body, you can propel with many successes. Be not afraid of no one but God.
- Think and decide what you truly want: When you know what it is that you want then you will be more able to tell others. Too many people put up with unsatisfactory behavior from others because they aren’t clear about this.
- Lead with wholehearted values: Good leaders lead with devotion. They creates value in others; treating people well, point them to the right direction, give them hope and motivate them with intellectual excellence. They practice openness culture, acknowledge the importance of trust, commitment to reality, caring, fairness, truthfulness, allowing others choices and finish well. And by having so, they gains respect, courage and honor.
- Turn back to God if you have lost your way: Repent now and have faith in God. The devil cannot get a grip on you if you have this strong frame of mind. When something awful happens to you, turn towards God not away from him, and watch as He helps you to fight back. It is a good aspiration, but you must do it God’s way.
Conclusion
As a Christian believer, I firmly believe in the power of faith and belief in my own personal and professional life. My goal is not to convince you into believing and accepting my faith – that is the Lord’s work to convince you – not me. Have faith in God will. He is ever loving and forgiving.
I am but the messenger and God the message. If you believe it you can achieve it – conversely. If you don’t believe it will happen, more than likely you won’t accomplish anything or nothing.
There’s no point to talk about Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and/or Transformation Program or “Pemansang” if you failed to plan and/or failed to take serious commitment to implement it. If you fail to plan you are planning to fail. Think, visualize, aim, jot-down and take responsibility on your own New Year Resolution now.
Lastly, have a bless New Year 2010. Cheers!

How is gobal warming worse for Borneo – assuming that you believe global warming is alarming to you?
How is it the very basic form of human existence taken away from you by governmental mandates of living off your own land is prohibited – wood for fuel wild animals for food. The Orang Ulu or Asli of Borneo have very few basic rights in comparison to the others. Your’e being push out of your own birthrights. Your land stripped bare by timber companies should be compensated to your tribal in that land.
The fear mongering by GB alarmist is appalling and unnecessary for lack of scientific facts. That’s why the Copenhagen Summit failed. There is no science facts – just science faith. The world of science today is just as corrupt as every government in the world. It’s exploiting the unknowledgeable.
If you want to save the world – manage pollution and natural resources. Human pollute the ocean far worse than your fear of glabal warming. The Indian Ocean is stripped bare from overfishing so are other oceans. The Chinese are fishing in far greater threat on the S. China Sea than you know.
The open water is a sustainable ground for all life on this planet. Pollution killed aquatic lifeforms and poisoned them, then you eat them. In the end everything is lost.
Carbon dioxide is a life giving force to the ocean where bateria provides most of the food source to planktons thus the chain of life apparent. Trees are important to life as they convert CO2 to oxygen. CO2 is not a pollutant. Methane release also help to support life not destroy it. Because CO2 is only 0.038% in the atmosphere it has little impact to temperature change.
You have understand when politicians articulate the horror of global warming they do this to bebfit their own pockets and improve their own treasuries. Don’t get suckered into it.
If we treated the open waters as our dumping ground with pollutants the natural ocean current called thermohaline will be dirupted and many corals and bottom feeders die.
Look at your rivers and ask yourself how will life support itself from all the pollutants thrown in there. what is the greater fear?

to me this article sound like an alarm clock remind me of a “Dawn Of A New Era.” and it is good.
well, my policy for new year 2010 is simple. so simple till it called “responsibility”
responsible in whatever we aRE doing and said. be it in workplace, work or task we are doing, responsible to soceity or community(as a kerani opis Welfare) and rest i leave to the Almighty.
responsible is a big WORD, EVEN RESPONSIBLE and ANSWERABLE TO your OWN posting in this Blog. though i m not a sheriff, but i guess CI and ABT if these two are still around will definitely agreed!
Your right KOW. I agree with you. We should review our plan for 2009 & assess our achievement/failure. There are always rooms for improvement. So, make a proper plan in all aspects of our lives for 2010 especially to uplift the standard of living.
Cheers,
John Hock

New Year’s Resolutions to Save Money and Build Wealth
With the current stage of economy we are in right now, everyday more people feel the need to save more money and build alternative income sources.
The beginning of the New Year gives us the opportunity to set effective resolutions to make this dream a reality.
As you know, the most important element in saving money is self-discipline.
If you are disciplined enough you will develop the ability to monitor your budget and cut down unwanted costs.
If I summarize the key to building wealth that is ’spend less than you earn and invest the difference’.
However, so many people do not follow through this principal and they continue to keep losing their earnings.
If you have tried and failed before in setting up resolutions, you must end the cycle this New Year by deciding to take action.
In 2010, you should make a resolution to take control of your financial life.
At the end of next 12 months, you must be in a position where you do not have to worry about money anymore.
Dream big and plan on all possible ways you can build wealth.
Some approaches will not give the results you want while others will exceed your expectations.
But there is no way to find out what works unless you take that first step towards financial freedom.
Most people do not follow through in their resolution of ‘building wealth’ because they let the life get in their way.
This is inevitable for all humans and therefore you must take prepare yourself before you start your journey.
When you set the right resolutions and follow a solid plan your success is guaranteed.
Have a blessed Happy New Year 2010. Cheers!
Selamat taun baru semua kaban,
Every Second, Every Minute, Every day, Every Month and Every Year, I only have one resolution …..TO BE A BETTER MAN
Boom Boom Boom
Global warming is nothing compared to having to swim or drown in a big pool bigger than Singapore Island and our beloved ancestral land and longhouse lies at the bottom of that deep vast pool. For those nicely fed by the BN, is is more $$$$$. For us the victims, our DOOMSDAY is in the making.
Without LAND there is no Wealth. Why do the rich acquire so much land? Because they want to create wealth so that they can have more than enough food for their families, a nice and beautiful shelter, and all the luxuries available on this earth.
The Dayaks need their ancestral land to put food on the dining mat (not table), timber from the forest to build crude shelters called longhouse, permanent shelter called coffin and boats for transport.
Losing the NCR land is absolutely FATAL for the Dayaks.
HOPEFULLY ALL DAYAKS ARE AWAKEN TO THESE SIMPLE FACTS and ACT FAST BEFORE IT IS TOOOOO LATE.
Happy New Year to all (2010)

To DB Bloggers,
New year, New Spirit, New Resolution. As years passed-by, we soon realised that we are getting older and time is catching on us.
Let us rethink and strategise our next move in career, family and spiritual life.
May the Grace of God be with us all.
Let us forgive and forget the legacy and the misdeed that we have done.
Seek what’s best and live an abundant life in God’s kingdom…AMEN. HP New Year 2010.
Tabi Kaban,
RESOLUTION: PROPER MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGIZING DAYAK POPULATION IN URBAN AREAS
Article on New Year Resolution is well written but comment on Global Warming is NOT immediately important compared to the migration of young dayak into town areas, like in Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri.
As the result of rural to urban migration, the pattern dayak population pattern is
a) Longhouse population is reduced by one tenth of the original population, leaving the elders population—-GOOD FOR BN AS THEY ARE 100% BN dependent.
b) those young dayak population in big town area are concentrate in low cost housing or squatting areas. The dayak population is absorbed among the chinese other races population. In this case, a good example is Batu Kawah and Samarindah housing areas. Govt Housing Commisison already structured the population for BN benefit only.
C) SO DAYAK BARU GROUP…..WHAT IS YOUR PLAN OR RESOLUTION TO RESTRUCTURE THE DAYAK POPULATION…TO BUILD A CLUSTER OF POPULATION FOR PRO OPPOSTION. TIME IS RUNNING SHORT.
Nya aja kaban.
As more Oil Palm schemes are coming up in the rural areas, we are going to see more foreigners invading the rural/iban areas. For example, there are increasing foreign blood in the Bekenu and Bintulu oil palm schemes. This is made worst when the young ibans/dayaks migrate to the urban areas. Sooner the foreigners will outnumbered the locals. No doubt, longhouses are getting strongly built and that’s a sign that the ibans are really mean business for wanting to be permanent in the ulu. Some have already started to cultivate their own oil palm and earning thousand of Ringgit every month.
I hope the govt housing commision also encourage the construction of longhouse in the ulu by providing facility (fund, loan) so that they rurals also live in houses of the same standard as in the urban area.
Look like the govt is moving forward to provide better facilities/infrastructures to the ulu regardless of opposition ground. That’s 1Malaysia concept. Water supplies, electricity, telecom are slowly invading the rural areas. One can hear a tele-conversation in the middle of the oil palm plantation/smallholding or even in the jungle while hunting for wild boars. So, if one shot a large boar, it’s so easy to call for help or if one shot own companion, one could easily call for police help.
Telaga and Aki,
Thats the reality and the core issues that we as Dayaks, need to address. The more Dayaks migrate elsewhere because they lacked the opportunity and the means to live in kampungs. We need to make futures studies on the impact of the Dayak migration. Land invaders [Lanun] will conquer us, and we are left of nothing. Our generation will be cursed by our anak , cucu, cicit in the future!!! Merempat di tanah sendiri!!! Jadi Kuli, hamba…kena jajah!
Tabi Wai Sulu Akiq Haong,
Endang amat bendar maioh orang asing di kawasan ladang baka ba menoa Bekenu enggau Niah. Maioh sida nya handsome & bajik baka film star Boery Marintika atau Widawaty. Bisi sekeda baka Rajesh Khana & Ruhk Khan. Maioh indu kitai bangsa ka ke sida ia.
Tambah agi maioh amat orang indon sebelah madang getah china foochow di Sibu, Sarikei enggau Bintangor, nangkal getah lama. Sida Indon tu di control gangster Sibu, lalu enda olih di kacau.
Kitai iban nadai berani masuk kawasan tu. Abis paku, miding enggau ikan ba kawasan madang getah tu di control orang indon.
Population pattern kita Swak bertukar nyadi Sabah enda lama agi.
Arap ka bala kita dayak berunding ka jalai ngadu ka pengawa tu.
Nya aja sulu.
Welcome to 2010!
Why not stir yourself up and make this the year that you really accomplish your dream?
Or better yet, why not pray and ask God to give you His dream?
This 2010 can be the year to do something great not only for yourself, but for God! God will protect and defend His people who believe and have faith in Him.
There is no better time than now to have the guts to dream BIG and expect BIG things from our relationship with God.
We serve a BIG God and He lives in us and will help us live a life that glorifies Him. Be not afraid to do something right in God path. God will punish those ‘negative beings’ who tends to destroy, discriminate and marginalize others (God servants).
I’ve heard many “success” experts say that all our goals should be “attainable” and “realistic” – BUT they obviously don’t serve our God!
He is the God of “exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think!” (Eph 3:20)
He is El Shaddai – the God of More than Enough!
He can handle our needs, wants, dreams, rights and desires… our mind, body, and even our mortgage/debts… He is more than enough!
As we kick off this New Year, let me encourage you to dream big, pray big, and expect big results with the Lord’s help…
Remember, we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us! (Phil 4:13)
This Year 2010, May the Lord bless and prosper all your efforts as you serve Him!
Be blessed to be a blessing.
Cheers!
