Church Attacks – mocking parody of 1 Malaysia

Taken from MalaysiaKini

The government has totally failed to handle this issue with care and wisdom. Instead of doing this, it see in this an opportunity to gain desperately-needed political support.’

Three churches fire-bombed

Kgan:

After the dust has settled please don’t mention ’1Malaysia’ any more, especially from BN politicians. An empty slogan is one thing but a mocking parody of the real situation is another.

Al Atas:

The government has totally failed to handle this issue with care and wisdom. Instead of doing this, it sees in this an opportunity to gain the desperately needed political support of the Malays by getting no less than the Prime Minister’s Department to be involved in filing an appeal at the appellate court and making a request for a stay-of-execution.

No Consensus

Even among the Malay clergy, there is no consensus on this issue. Let us make an immediate appeal to everybody to exercise great restraint and stop all these stupid acts whilst the issue is being sorted out .

Christian are people of the book

To the Muslims. let me remind them that actually the Christians being ulul-al azmi (people of the Book’) and who are citizens of this country and who have been living in peaceful coexistence with all of us, should have both they and their places of worship protected and not destroyed.

Victor Johan:

The Umno/BN government and the Royal Malaysian Police should/must call for an immediate ban on any planned demonstrations. Even the compound of all the mosques should be out-of-bound to intending demonstrators.

Mosques is not a place to create chaos

Mosques are for worshipers, not for those to assemble and create chaos. This is a very serious matter. Any failure to control this will only go to prove that the current government supports and condones these demonstrations. I need not say no more. The Malaysian rakyat at large are not stupid.

Ganasan Kailasanathan:

The culprits for these church attacks should be arrested immediately and charged under the anti-terrorism law. It should also be determined if they have any links to international terrorist groups.

Executive interfering with judiciary

The executive should also take responsibility for their idiocy in interfering with the judiciary in handling this sensitive issue. Please stop the rot before we see another May 13. If you cannot handle this situation, please resign and call for fresh elections.

Samasama:

‘Flex your muscles’, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said. The ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ Umno leaders said nothing wrong with protests to express grievances. ‘Kerismuddin’ and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak said ‘We cannot stop protests’.

What a hypocrite – he doesn’t realize

Well, this is exactly what you all wished very much to happen. The home minister and Najib have all the resources and power to prevent these kind of incidents from happening but have done nothing. Najib the PM condemns the attacks? What a hypocrite.

Justgreat:

Well, the chaos has started, supported by none other than Najib, the PM of Malaysia and aided by his cohorts Home Minister Hishamuddin Hussien Onn and Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. These people want to sow hatred in the Muslim Malays.

Inviting counter violence – to substantiated Malay Muslim fear

They want to gauge whether there will be any retaliation from other quarters like from the Chinese, the indigenous people of Sabah and Sarawak and the Indians. If there is retaliation, they will convince the Muslim Malays that their rights are being challenged and they have to use force to curb the violence.

“Kow tow:” both way Najib want to win

If the rest do not respond or retaliate, they would then tell their people that others dare not do anything because we have to ‘kow tow’ to them. Either way, we lose. Get out of Malaysia while we all can or plan to send your kids away. This country has gone to the dogs.

Rayfire:let it be a lesson to East Malaysia for giving blind support to BN

All rational-thinking Malaysians out there, let’s stay calm and safe. Don’t respond. Umno is indirectly fanning this protest, let them do it, let this be a lesson for East Malaysians who continue to blindly support BN. A painful lesson it is but will be a most valuable one. Stay calm, let them do what they want, don’t respond.

Kick their butts out come next general election

Let them show the world their ignorance. Let them put forth their racial sentiment above their religious one and let it be seen by the nation. Let this be a turning point for the nation to kick their butts out when 13th general election comes!

KLeo:

Something tells me that the perpetrators of these cowardly acts are just religious extremists not linked to the organisers of today’s demonstrations. They knew the attacks would put the nation on high alert and would close the door on any chance of holding the planned protests at mosques today.

And I doubt the arsonists were hired by Umno too. Two failed bombings with cheap homemade Molotov cocktails? We have so little information, people, we know almost nothing. Pointing fingers is just going to heat things up unnecessarily. I laud the church officials’ calm and levelheaded responses.

Abdul Fareed Abdul Gafoor:

A real Muslim would not do these acts. Acts of these nature are clearly prohibited in the Quran and also by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). These could be the work of troublemakers. Bring the perpetrators to book and don’t blame everything entirely on Umno.

It is a sad day for the country and the Christians in Malaysia. At least three churches in West Malaysia were attacked by fanatic and senseless arsonists. Hopefully the police will carry out speedy investigation and arrest the culprits and bring them to face of justice.

It was reported that the Metro Tabernnele Church in Desa Melawati was the first target at about 12.00 midnight on 8.1.10 and the attack on another two churches at Templer Road and Petaling Jaya several hours later could have been prevented should the police have taken swift preventive measures by despatching immediately patrol cars and prevention of crime units to the ground after the first incident. What I can see here, there was no co-ordination efforts by Kuala Lumpur police and Selangor police in their prevention of crimes strategies.

On the protest gatherings by the Muslims after Friday prayers, they were planned earlier, and yet the police could not stop them. Even though the gatherings were said to be peaceful and dispersed when directed by the police, but such illegal gatherings could trigger anger and incite ill feelings to other people.

Let be gone be by gone. For the Christians who go to Sunday Mass on this sunday, let we continue to be steadfast in prayer to seek divine favour for continous peace and harmony in the nation.

A pastor was manhandled by four men before they vandalised a church in Ampang at around 6.30pm on Friday.

The men entered the Agape Revival Church located in a shoplot at Pandan Indah, Ampang and manhandled the priest before shoving him to the ground.

The assailants then proceeded to damage a microphone before tearing down posters in the church and leaving.

The police lodged a report on behalf of the pastor at the Pandan Indah police station.

Meanwhile, in Kuala Selangor an unidentified man walked into a chapel near Asam Jawa and advised the caretaker to be wary during this tense period before handing him a copy of the Quran.

It is learnt the incident occurred at about 6pm when the man met the Chapel Of Our Lady Of Good Health’s caretaker and passed him some advice meant for the parish priest.

He advised the chapel’s parish priest to take precautions as it was possible the chapel could become a victim of attacks similar to churches in Kuala Lumpur.

Alan Pereira, the parish priest, said he took the man’s action in good faith and as a sign of friendship because the man had advised them to lock their gates and windows following the attacks made on other churches.

“This shows that not everyone is against us,” he added.

Police personnel who rushed to the scene, have recorded a statement from the caretaker.

Selangor police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Khalid Abu Bakar when contacted, confirmed both incidents.

He added they were confident in indentifying the person involved in the Kuala Selangor incident, who is believed to be a local.

“Although there was no threat in this case, we would like to record his statement to find out his true intentions,” Khalid said.

I think we should not dance with DB here. Malaya culture and politics is different from Sarawak. Politic of Development has no time to turn back to answer political mongering. As we in DL always said all this things will die out but not the development that the people are hunger for. So vote for BN for the continous development and treat the rest as secondary issue as they will die carried by times in the nature of very Malaysians itself, a peace loving people. Politic of Development and 1Malaysia concept will be the best medicine to cure whatever public sentiments that may arise.

    Mr. Dino.

Re incident at Agape Revival Church at Pandan Indah. It is serious offence and the police should investigate the case.

Vandalized the church, damaged the church microphone and tearing the posters therein is an offence defiling a place of worship with intent to insult the religion of Christianity under Section 295 of the Penal Code punishable with two years imprisonment, or with fine or with both.

Assaulted a pastor is an offence under section 323 of the Penal Code punishable with imprisonment for one year, or fine of two thousands ringgit, or both.

Hopefully, the police will take necessary actions to defuse the tension.

Kristian Sarawak menyembah ‘Allah’ sebelum Malaysia terbentuk — Siong Tet
    (http://themalaysianinsider.com/index.php/opinion/breaking-views/48568-kristian-sarawak-menyembah-allah-sebelum-malaysia-terbentuk–siong-tet)

Sekali lagi saya ulangi.

    Well,Dude Deo,

There have two incidences whereby Iban people chase out fellow Ibans.

    1. Yb Peter Nyarok did not sanction the Motivational Talks organised for the school.

    2. 1 Tuai Rumah and 2 others recently as reported by EDWIN RAUH RAUH did the same thing, chasing the personnel of an Opposition party.

Are you too old to recall these incidences?. Chasing people out IS THE CULTURE of BN, indcotrinated into the Iban minds.

Can I just say that you agree for the churches to be burnt down?.

    Cheers…

Let everyone of us work hard to ensure a peaceful Malaysia and follow the good example by our Muhammad Rasulullah s.a.w

21:105 (Y. Ali) Before this We wrote in the Psalms, after the Message (given to Moses): My servants the righteous, shall inherit the earth.”

21:106 (Y. Ali) Verily in this (Qur’an) is a Message for people who would (truly) worship Allah.

21:107 (Y. Ali) We sent thee (Muhammad) not, but as a Mercy for all creatures.

I like to dedicate this song specially to all dayakbaru and dayaklama members

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpssVOcq10c

There is no God but Allah and Prophet Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.

2:255 (Y. Ali) Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

2:256 (Y. Ali) Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

We Peace Loving Muslim condemned the negative action is are unislamic caused by the confusion of the usage word ” Allah ”

    MPF Statement On Church Torchings

The cowardly and utterly senseless act of a group of misguided, chauvinistic bigots in torching at least three churches in the Klang Valley this morning must be condemned in no uncertain terms by all peace loving Malaysians.

This act of arson, committed presumably in the name of Islam desecrates the very religion it purports to protect. The Holy Quran unequivocally prohibits destroying the houses of worship of all religions, as warned in Surah Al-Hajj, Verse 40.

“. Had not Allah checked the excesses and aggression of one set of people by means of another, surely would be destroyed monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated .”

During the reign of Umar ibn Al-Khattab, the second righteous caliph, the religious freedom of the citizens of Ilya (Jerusalem) and the sanctity of their synagogues and places of worship were confirmed: “This is the protection which the slave-servant of Allah, Umar, the Commander of the Believers, extends to the people of Ilya: The safeguarding of their lives, properties, churches, crosses, and of their entire community. Their churches cannot be occupied, demolished, or damaged, nor are their crosses or anything belonging to them to be touched. They will never be forced to abandon their religion, nor will they be oppressed .” (At-Tabari, Tarikh, Vol III, p. 609, ed. Dar Al-Ma`arif, Egypt.)

In the light of these tragic turn of events, the Muslim Professionals Forum:

Demand the authorities to immediately conduct an impartial and thorough investigation to identify , apprehend and punish the perpetrators of this despicable violence lest the country spirals into a vicious cycle of retaliatory acts which would fracture the very fabric of Malaysian civil society.
Urge the authorities to either refuse or revoke the permit for the planned demonstration in order to contain the heightened emotions and sensitivities from among the Muslim quarters, angered by the recent high court decision on the usage of the word Allah.
Urge individuals, organisations and political parties to refrain from further issuing provocative and inflammatory statements related to the high court verdict.
Urge all Malaysians to emphatise and stand in solidarity with our Christian community in their hour of grief and need.
Urge all peace loving Malaysians to maintain composure and let cool heads prevail.

Urge Mentri Dalam Nengeri respect the court decision.

    Dearest arah(above comments),

You should clearly your means to the people who burned the churches, not to us, these site is for Dayak thinkers to improves ourselves only , not a forum for we Dayaks to learn the good of Islam, than convert ourself. We are mostly Christians, and about 43% Sarawakian are Christian vs Muslim about 30%, others are Buddhists, Baha’i, Hindu and paganisme/likos. These were not included Sarawakian in Malaya and and as included the Malays employees from Malaya. Not as in Malaya, Islam is majority, but here in Sarawak the other are majority. The negatively Malayan Malays will effect their counterpart in Sarawak.

As Allah is belongs to Abrahamic religions, Malays in Malaya protest bcause misunderstood the global situation.Allah is also refer to God also used in Hebrews, Malta and other country. Eventhough Arabian Christian also used this word.

    Peace to all.

The burning of ‘tugong pandok’ in KL is for sure tarnishing the good name of Islam/Muslim and the teaching of Prophet Mohammad. The prophet teaches good moral value but the burning is the other side of the teaching. Of course the good moral value may also include doing the good for the good of one’s religion. I mean to the extent of nunu tugong pandok or burning the house of Gof of other religion who believe in Gof. No doubt, the Christian and muslim are sharing the term God. Why should they be so selfish and greedy for not wanting to worship God together in different styles.

Whatever it is, we must not destroy each other godly buildings, houses of God; everyone must realize that the house of worship is for the same God.

I view those who burn the tugong pandok aren’t muslims but the descendants of the wicked humans who have been used to burn churches in other sides of the world. These wicked humans dare to do it even for the sake of God.

    Scholarly Arah,

Please teasch your fellow moslem and let them understand that the word ALLAH exists pre-dating the birth of YOUR MOSLEM Porphet.

Thus, the moslems in Malaysia muct never claim to have EXCLUSIVE right such word.

Christiens in Sabah and Sarawak mostly believe that poor understanding of your Islamic religion has by and large contributed to the problem of burning of churches in Makaysia.

Moslems in Malaysia, particularly, in Malaya, have shown to the whole world that christians in the country are subject discrimantion and unfair treatment.

This is obviuosly as churhes in Malaysia are bulit with minimal government financial assistance, On the other hand, mosques are built in every nook and corner of Malaysia even when they are kess than five families living in the area.

We in Sabah and Sarawak do subscribe to Fed Constn, by acknowledging that Islam is the official religion in the country. This however should not have been done in a way that cappear to give unfair treatment to other religions.

I do sincerely hope that with your scholarly konwledge in Islam, you make some more efforts to tell your people that there is such thing that the ALLAH is to be made EXCLUSIVE.

And finally, respect the court ruling.

I guess, sarawakians and sabahans are all for peace.

    Cheers….

  24. ROFLMAO MALAYSIA on January 10th, 2010 8:14 am

if i was a rapper i would rap it just like 2 pac did, there was never any fairness @ Malaysia to start with. Christianity or any other religions except for Islam in Malaysia. look at the whole structure.

for example : health care, law, real estate, jobs etc

nothing have ever benefit other races or other communities except Muslims.

and now, talking about religion. what is gonna happen? i dont really care anymore as i would rather not live @ 3rd world country’s anymore.

yes malaysia is a 3rd world country despite all the advance they made and all the things they got.

even if 1 day they improved from the 3rd world title, they would be still the same since they have no respect for others.

its like watching a movie, aliens for example.

we, Chinese, Hindu, Dayak or what ever, as long as if our religion @ Malaysia is not Muslim thus we WILL BE DISCRIMINATED.

it is not because of the skin color, it is not because of the language we speak, instead its the extremist behavior most Malaysian Muslims have.

try to deny it? ok fine. you can hide it from everyone or everything but you still cannot hide it from yourself and your god or whatever you preach.

anyway, Malaysia is only good for holidays, but i rather go Thailand or Cambodia maybe china. i wouldn’t want to spend a single euro @ Malaysia anymore. worthless.

oh by the way, im going to spread this news on facebook, tweeter, tagged etc. lets spread the news, make it global! they want discrimination? they’ve got it global now!

Under such a rapid development in the upper river catchment, the river becomes muddy. It is the time and opportunity for the fishermen to nanggok dalam air yang keruh. The greedy petani/farmers/pekebun besar dan kecil may take the opportunity to fight for their respective cause/objective; certain political groups also like to nanggok ikan ba air keruh; certain religious group also like to nanggok ikan dalam air keruh.

If the church is burnt due to lack of control, it’s right that certain authority will need to repair/restore the destruction by the wicked. Today, the PM announce RM500,000 to restore the work of the wicked. Big thank you for our PM who is generous enough to provide fund for restoring the destrustive work of the wicked. Some people also dare to destroy their own thing in order to get sympathy from the higher above, from God, from Allah etc. So, they get the blessing or approval that may be considered as from god/Allah/government etc.

The more destruction being done by the wicked, the more government fund is channelled to restore the work of the wicked in all over the West Malaysia. These wicked so used to burn the house of God and they don’t have a TULAH word to compensate their doing. Yes, they are the purih/descendants of the church burners. In the past, the Malaysia never have the history of its’ citizen burning other people place of worship. These group are real damned wicked and desperate human ever lived on earth. They should be punished like the drug traffickers…..hukum gantung alang alang sampai mati. The wicked simply think that they are being blessed to destroy another house of God. Probably coz they think that the house of God of other people are the house for evil worship.

I pledge the christians be calm and let the devils carry on with their destructive action and accomplish their mission for their own good and the good of the same God/Allah we are believing in. Be they christian or Muslim, we all believe in God, no matter what name we call Him. But if we are trying to be different, then one is thought to believe in different God. One may confuse that a satan/devil also involved in the first creation of Heaven and earth. God is not blind and he is love. Being calm doesn’t mean the christians are hopeless.

By being calm, the whole world will know how Jesus is Love in all his followers.

Blessed are the wicked who restore the house of the Lord by burning.

    Amen.

To us, the burners look bad but they are actually good and giving blessing to us and God has approved their doings. They are talam dua muka or kris mata dua. They have accomplished their mission, eg, they have satisfied their frustration, they have pleased their God, they have judged the christians as worshipping devil, they did evil thing mean they are good people of their God, they have helped to restore the church indirectly, obtain new sites for church, and people are more united for the same God, etc etc.

You know, those who burn the/our churches are actually helping us to build new ones or get new sites, huh!

Thank you God for the blessing.

Please bless the burners for being so daring and have the guts to accomplish the mission that they call God mission. Thanks God, the torched church will soon look new. Without them doing the bad, the church will not look new. There will no RM500,000 donation. It’s not easy to get such a large sum od donation especially when our economy is not steady today. These donation are the people tax, you know. I’ve contributed to it too. Thanks devil for accomplishing the job for our God. May God bless you, devil/wicked. Be more wicked when the appearance of thing getting bad so that we will have new thing.

    Tabi Kaban Bloggers,

I suppose DB should be very happy now that PM and BN gomen announced the allocation of Setengah Juta or RM500,000.00 for the construction of house of worship at a new locality. Its proved once again that BN gomen is sensitive to the need of the people. SO how not to vote for BN in the coming state poll.

DL is now awaiting announcement from PR or DSAI on how much they allocate for the reconstruction of the church.

    ANANG NGELABAN PERINTAH

If government is fair, then it should not confine the donation to those affected churches only, just like what it does to the construction of mosques.

If your children burn a valuable security belonging to Z, intending to cause wrongful loss to Z, your children have committed mischief. So, being the father, it is your responsibility to pay or to compensate Z. The law is as such as simple as that.

  36. Iban Abroad on January 10th, 2010 1:26 pm

    Dear DB,

500K is good. But how much if compare to Najib donation if we burn the Surau. I think 10 X bigger than that. On the same day, Najib donate 1.5M to other Muslim activity. Pls compare this donation in term of money, honesty and politic wise.

Even, 3 families of Iban Muslim at Ensebang Quary in Serian can get 500K from gomen to build Surau.

I feel, shame of this donation if compare to donation the gomen donate to other muslim activity. It is look more toward political motif rather than honest donation.

No donation and no approval from PR gomen! how like that?

PM Najib on behalf of BN gomen donated RM500,000.00 for the reconstruction of the Church. Another RM100,000.00 donated by CIMB group CEO Datuk Nasir Razak. So far, no donation from DSAI or the opposition Pakatan.

Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim refused to approve the church’s new building near Batu Caves.

So what DB has to say? BN gomen and private individual provide funds but Selangor PR gomen delay the approval. Which should we support BN or PR gomen, if I may ask DB? PR only good at politicising the arson church attack issue, nothing more!

  40. Manang Empangau on January 10th, 2010 4:13 pm

It’s the duty of the present govt to help rebuilding the destroyed churches coz it seemed to fail in protecting the churches or prevent the wicked from torching them. Next time when the PR is in power and the same happen, it will the PR turn to donate in rebuilding the work of the wicked uman beings. Don’t worry who donate the money coz the money is not personal money of the PM or CIMB. The money are from everyone’s taxes. If there is no donation from the PR or Tan Sri Khalid, what can you expect them to do for the christian. We believe in the same God but worship Him in different styles. It’s their idealogy that seems unhelpful towards others’ faith.

Which religion should I & DL choose to believe in?
    Choosing a religion.

Most people, at some time in their lives, would be curious about what is purpose of life other than mere survival and procreation.

For some, this curiosity develops into a personal void needing to be filled.

For many, searching the secular realm and science would not provide adequate answers to this question.

From the beginning of recorded civilization, spiritual theories have been used to explain the purpose of life, natural events, health, political power, death and the thereafter.

One of these theories is Judeo-Christianity. Its text is the Bible.

I will use the secular mathematical tool of chance and probabilities to test the reliability of the Bible.

If I predict correctly all four digits in a four–digit lottery, the likelihood of that occurring by chance is one in 10,000 because for each digit, the probability is one in ten. If I predict another four digits correctly, the likelihood of this event occurring by chance is one in 100,000,000. If I predict correctly another four digits, the probability of this occurring by chance is one in 1,000,000,000,000.

The correct prediction of a four-digit lottery three times in a row is extremely unlikely to occur by chance. It is more likely to have happened by design. This could happen if I control the process of selecting the winning numbers. This could happen if I have knowledge of the future (prescience). Where has this ability come from? One explanation is that it is from an omniscient intelligence.

I apply this argument to the prediction of future historical events. Predicting one specific historical event in the future is possible by guessing. Predicting many specific historical events in the future is very unlikely by guesswork. Predicting a series of specific historical events in a specific order is even more unlikely by guesswork.

From my reading of the Bible, the Qur’an and the Bhagavad Gita, I found that the Bible contained by far the most predictions of events recorded in secular history (click here) relative to the time of the initial writing of these texts.

The likelihood of these correct predictions occurring by chance is extremely remote. In other words, it would be almost impossible for the predictions to happen merely by coincidence. Hence it is more likely to have occurred by design.

I believe that the designer is a prescient intelligence possibly from outside the four dimensions that I exist in. I believe this prescient intelligence revealed the events of the future to various people called prophets who recorded their predictions. These predictions (prophecies) are compiled in a book called the Holy Bible.

I believe the Bible contains clues to the identity of this prescient intelligence. On re-examining the Bible I found many predictions about a man. These were fulfilled in one person called Jesus. (click here)

This is why I believe in Jesus.

DB Bloggers are to poor to donate or raise fund for Miri Church under attacked! DB Bloggers only talk but no action!

A blogger who started an Internet fundraising campaign for the Metro Tabernacle Church which was attacked by arsonists managed to raise RM8,467 in just four days.

Dr Mohamed Rafick Khan Abdul Rahman, 45, started the donation drive on his blog (http://rights2write.wordpress.com) immediately after learning about the attack on the church early on Friday morning.

He said donations came pouring in nationwide, and from as far away as Britain and Europe.

Terimakasih.-
