William Nyalau – Tuai Rumah MUST support BN

The Honourable YB William Nyalau brilliant thesis on Tuai Rumah.
About two weeks ago the handsome MP from Lubok Antu – William Nyalau said that Tuai Rumah are part of the government service – in fact TR are government servant according to his brilliant reasoning because TR are given a monthly allowance of $450.00. In fact, the State government contribute $50.00 and the Federal Government gave $400.00. With such reasoning the honourable Member of Parliament made it clear to all Tuai Rumah that they must support BN / government because they are beholden to their pay master – the government.
Is a Tuai Rumah a Government Servant?
The answer is NO! He does not enter into an employment contract with the Civil Service and is not bounded by the General Order. A Tuai Rumah also do not enjoy the benefits accorded to a government servant and the Tuai Rumah are not “graded” as required by every position in the civil service.
Of course the Honourable YB may has his argument – to me he is just adding more confusion to the responsibility of being a Tuai Rumah. It is the lowest possible category class of politicking. I do hope the DUN member for Batang Ai can educate the MP on the matter.
The Government is politicizing the Tuai Rumah with intention to hold on to power.
It is generally unhealthy for any governmnet to bring the institution of Tuai Rumah into disrepute by dragging them into the dirty world of politics. What dirty politics has the government put the Tuai Rumah into?
First – a Tuai Rumah is elected by the families in a lomg house, based on ADAT and to an extend – family linage. To day many Tuai Rumah are appointed by POLITICIANS and political parties and some recommended by the District Office and Penghulus. In such a case most of the time the Tuai Rumah are not well verse with the Dayak ADAT, history and background of the longhouse and encouraging Tuai Rumah to be members of political parrties.
Second – during Minister visit, the Tuai Rumah are treated different through “divide and Rule” and create a situation that allow “peer pressure” to work against them IF they are perceived to be not in agreement with certain government policies and programme. A Tuai Rumah must represent the interest of his “anembiak” but with political influence today Tuai Rumah started to look after their personal interest more then the “anembiak” interest.
Thirdly – the allowance of $450.00 is used to put pressure on the Tuai Rumah to support and vote for the BN, The intention to give $450.00 to Tuai Rumah is to subsidize his expenses for doing various services for his anembiak especially to attest, verified, certified government forms that is required by the government department.
The BN politician is doing more harm to Dayak community by interfering with the Dayak Community leaders institution. The Temenggong / Pemancha maybe appointed but we should return the Penghuluship and Tuai Rumah for the community to elect.
Why are the Tuai Rumah / Penghulu Appointed by political parties now?
This is only relevant to West malaysia where the Local Council law applies to the appointment of their community leaders. If you look at the 18 points agreement – such Local Council law in Malaya do not apply to Sarawak.
If the Local Government laws in Sarawak allows for such appointment then that should be challenged by the community. The government has no RIGHTS to dictate to the Dayak who should be a Tuai Rumah and who should not. That institution is better left to the people in the long house. The long house people can punish or replace the Tuai Rumah if he has violated the long house code of conduct etc. Today a Tuai Rumah who acted against the wishes of the long house or is involved in illegal activities left chance for the anembiak to take action. That is why we find incompetent and some corrupted Tuai Rumah whose master are YBs instead of his anembiak.
What does it means o the Dayak community?
In a general term, the Dayak community will become weaker as their community leaders do not take the community interest into their heart. The Appointed community leaders are more then eager to please their political boss and therefor are even willing to sell out to the government and investors the native rights to NCR land.
We see such evidence now in our community where our community leaders are joining forces with politicians to undermine Dayak’s progress and Dayak’s rights. This maybe the beginning of the government effort to put Dayak into a position where it will never be able to determine Dayak progress, direction and even hold on to Dayak wisdom and value.
The sum total of this is we will have a Dayak community that is “HELPLESS” and may one day become “beggars” in our own land. Worst still : “Kamapar di menoa diri empu”.

This Yb. William learns fast the ways of BN. Subject “fear” in the hearts of the tuai rumahs with threats that their next pay cheques are conditional on their loyalty to BN. A so called “educated dayak” stooping so low to take advantage of the illiterate tuai rumahs for political interests. Basically he’s saying “I am the boss. You do as you are told!” With Yb. of this intimidating narrow minded calibre it is no wonder we dayaks are forever “agi hidup” only!

i m not blaming the tr, i try to put myself in thier shoes and try to see through the eyes of the beholder. what i did find is, they really in a delima.
a moral delima actually, i will give an illustration here, to understand better what i mean.
“You are an inmate in a concentration camp. A sadistic guard is about to hang your son who tried to escape and wants you to pull the chair from underneath him. He says that if you don’t he will not only kill your son but some other innocent inmate as well. You don’t have any doubt that he means what he says. What should you do?”

Many Dayak are not aware of the implication of the government effort to politicize the Dayak Community leaders Institution. The community leaders hold the fabric of Dayak community and the way they choose to live. If we allow such policy and practices not to be checked – the Dayak community will suffer through a weaken leadership at grass root level.
Remember that the government intention is good – it will help to simplify the process of organizing the Dayak activities. The down side are:
1. it create a fear mentality of Dayak Community leaders to talk about the true needs of Dayak with the authority
2. the Dayak leaders freedom of expression / opinion and thought is curtail or supress – leaving them with no voice to talk
3. this will make the Dayak community subservient to the will of others – we let others decide on the fate of our community.
Many people would think DrJBA is an Opposition man and that is why he talks like that. I beg to differ and it takes a clear mind to dissect and recognize this threat to Dayak Community and an unreserved willingness to warn our Dayakbaru youth of the possible danger of such policy and practices.This policy must be stopped or modified to achieve a win-win situation.
My suggestion is to upgrade the system of managing Dayak ADAT and form a body that regulate the implementation of programmes to strengthen the Dayak community cultural fabric. Government has to allocate money and appoint competent people to head such Institution with clear power and authority with specific scope of work. It must be free from political party politics.
We are giving government ideas and ways to improve. When such views are not taken seriously in favour of supremacy of ONE race, this is what drive our desire to Change WE Must. Unless the government is willing ti talk and listen to some of our feedback.
The Dayak community is willing to work with the YBs. Then the YBs should be listening to the ideas and discuss it with so many intellectual as shown in this blog.
I could not recall even a single point of time Dayak YB call for a common discussion to talk about a specific topic with the Dayak people. Instead they insisted that the Dayak people MUST only listen to them.
Is that good leadership. Not in my corporate view and experience. I pray the YB will change for the better.

Aku setuju enggau perintah BN meri Tuai Rumah 450 sebulan. Ari duitnya nyamai agi sida ia ngidup ka diri ba rumah panjai. Tambah pia semua temuai ke datai niki rumah panjai, dulu sida ia betemu enggau Tuai Rumah. Leboh maia berandau, air kopi, tea, tuak (enti bisi) dibantai kena berandau. Sarawak is getting an ang pow windfall from visiting federal ministers, with the amount reaching more than RM4bil, and still counting.
The bonanza seems to be getting bigger by the month due to the frequency of “courtesy calls” from these leaders.
Ordinary folk are looking at these signs as a clear indication that a state election is approaching.
These funds are meant for federal projects stretching from Lawas in the northernmost tip of Sarawak to Kuching in the southernmost end of the state.
They include construction of schools, clinics, community Internet centres, bridges, roads and water supply projects. Among the funds received so far:
• Jan 21 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin approved RM50mil for a new school in Tutoh-Apoh in Miri to replace the one damaged by floods;
• Jan 28 – Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim announced a RM470mil allocation to build 203 telecommunication towers, 37 libraries, six community IT centres and two IT centres for disabled children in Kuching; and
• Jan 30 – Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai declared a RM114mil allocation for a bigger hospital complex after visiting Lawas Hospital.
Also on Jan 30 in the Limbang district, Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Shafie Apdal promised RM100mil to build houses for the hardcore poor and rebuild old ones.
He also approved RM20mil to rebuild a network of roads from Limbang town to Ulu Limbang and the construction of a new water treatment plant in Batu Danau.
The next day, Shafie went to Sibu Division where he made known that RM3.7bil had been allocated for the construction of rural roads, piped water supply projects and homes for the poor.
On Monday, Shafie visited Kapit Division and revealed that a RM1.8mil micro-hydro-electric project was in the offing for Baleh district.

It the same old tactic use by BN to frigthen the ‘Tuai Rumah’. Well ‘Tuai rumah’ should be wise and thinks rationally as they are an elected figure. They may be tied to support BN but not their ‘anembiak’. That the fact they have to accept but their ‘anembiak’ should be free to elect democratically without force and fear. The ‘anembiak’ should not be threatened “Buru Pindah” if they do not follow his instruction of supporting BN.

Then people like you,MJC and Koklir, cronies of YDK, are laughing all the to the bank. You would be smiling to think of 60% the amount that might possibly be credited into your accounts. It means more monies for the selected few.
How much will the rakyat get is anybody’s guess. Will the remaining 40% be fairly distributed among the communities in Sarawak?. Will there be more Iban millionaires in Sarawak in the immediate future once this fund is fully allocated for the respective projects?.
Dbs, until all the promised projects are fully completed, could not accept them as development. For as long as the Ibans are still do not get involved in the mainstream development, we should continue our struggle to fight the injustice.
Yb like Oily Alau is an old fashioned bloke, trying to convince the old folks to continue supporting a decadent ideas in politics. This YB is not relevant to the current development and progress of the Ibans.
He must know that he has been selected by the CM to stand as a MP just to make up for the number. People will not expect him to be vocal enough in dealing with Dayak Iban issues. Basically, a great majority of Iban presume that this PBB man had been selected because he is seen as being a YB easily manipulated to complement our CM’s desire to continue his reign.
If I could recall clearly, this is the Iban representative caught nappy during the session on TV.
His statement to force TRs to vote for the BN is chauvinistic.
Strangely enough, in spite of his glaring incapabality the poor folks still continue to keep him in his seat. DBs in this area have got so much work to do to unseat this under par YB.
Please do not be fooled by this windfall as they are all BIG LIES, purportedly designed to sweeten up the apparently dull development in Sarawak. It is allocated to Sarawak to impress the the Dayak Iban voters that the Federal govt does the good care of us. Peolpe would come to think of it as an attempt to suppress the growing vociferous young and old Dayak who have seen the obvious lack of sincerity in developing the state.
Therefore, this windfall is nothing to shout about.

The appointment of a `Tuai Rumah` or a village chief is the state government`s prerogative. He must meet prerequisites like contribution to local social activities. In addition to that, he must possesses sufficient knowledge on The Native Customary Laws Ordinance, respected and well liked by his `anakbiaks`, stimulates rapport understanding and tolerance and active in tending to community interest.
We don`t deny it, some Tuai Rumah or village chiefs are creating cliques and factions, thus making a lot tension in their villagers. Some even quarrelsome and lose their tempers on very minor issue. For instance, a 66-year old senior citizen from Long Terawan longhouse in Miri was punched by a Penghulu when the former asking question related to commission from logging activities within the longhouse territory. It was an act of an irresponsible village chief who took the law into his own hand without provocation.
The reaction of longhouse folks to such a leadership style is often of fear, resentment, resistance and frustration. He has a poor understanding of the goals of his jobs as a Ketua Masyarakat.
Since the allowances of the Ketua Masyarakat are paid by taxpayers who are citizens of this country, in my opinion they must stay neutral without being influenced by any political sentiment although they are free to support any political party.

I would agree to most the comments that the mindsets of the tuai rumah will have to change for the current developments,they should have broader ideas and knowledge of what people needs instead of a little of gula-gula batu during election.BN is now paying more attention in rural areas which can be easily swing as compare to urban folks who demand more of the current needs from government,polices of education,economy,religions,social ills and etc.

Bn always us this methods to fish for vote. Say, say only what, need not to pay. If BN win the election, BN just have to say sorry not enough fund so the projects have to wait. It is so simple. So comes the next election use back this method lol. So that the rakyat can continue to vote for them for this empty promised.
They should have start all the projects now if the BN is sincere to the sarawakian since the gomen already approve the project. Otherwise BN just making a dream for the Sarawakian that never materialize.
Vote wisely so that your vote will bring prosperous to Sarawak.

It is amazing that a simple statement by a YB like Nyallau that “Tuai Rumah should not go against Gov’t since they are Gov’t Servant” is sufficient to divert our attention & kill off many more important problems that Dayaks face.
Can you imagine the NCR, lagging behind in progress, ketuanan Melayu, etc. that this Blog has been speaking about for the last 2 years can easily be pushed aside just like that.
Rural Dayaks such as Tuai Rumahs cannot be blamed in this instances. They are mostly poor and ocnstantly hoping for better luck. If there are someone who could offer them better life, they will go for it, who wouldn’t? But if there are people who threaten their life, they will have to protect themselves by removaing such threats. They are in total weaknesses. Being weak financially is easy meat for manipulating politicians. This has been our story for election after election.
It is trulu awesome to me that when I compare the might, grandious or the wealth of BN people to a RM450 per month Tuai Rumahs. Imagine Wisma Pelita in Kuching overlooking Dayak shabby longhouses. Or imagaine a roll royce drive to and park in front of your long house!
The Dayaks are easy to impress & have always been impressed by the BN. In return we want to be part of what impress us, we want to be part of the colorful events, to share the fun and the glamour of the rich and powerful although there isn’t any tangiable value whatsoever. I read in this Blog, there are people who demonstrate exactly the same behaviours.
I hold Iban YBs as responsible for Dayak lagging behind. Many among them are the greatest culprits. The failure of Dayaks race in many aspects of life in Malaysia is due to them. They will of course always show us some of their effort to help Dayaks at face value, they are the culprits when come to protest and champoining the race.
Have you ever seen any BN Dayak YB who isn’t pre-occupied with saving his own political survival? I have not, such rare breed does not exist!
Well informed Dayaks who are able to look at the bigger picture or those who are sick of being unfairly treated in a perfect corrupted regime will undoubtedly deny the BN YBs of their support.
But talking about the longhouse folks or rural voters, I could only regret and feel sorry for the Ibans and Dayak people.

How many monkeys are there in LA? For so long as my parents, family member and relatives in the area are still sticking to that of mind of a monkey, it would be a tough battle for the opponent to unseat Oily Allau. With regards to another seat held by Dr Ayong, it looks easier to topple as his position in a party political that can provide support is doubtful. At the moment, it would be a good idea for us to pull our resources and intensify efforts to unseat Dr Ayong in this coming SE.
A)RM80 Million worth of PROMISES.
It is all clear to us in LA that the government has promised to bring in RM80M worth of project during the last by election. Everybody was so eager to receive and welcome those promises as they seem to come from both eths state and Federal governments. All of a sudden, the impoverished Ibans are awakened up from their slumber, hoping to see the promised projects could alleviate their hard way of life. Of course they are excited to see how does life in LA would be once these promises are realized. For us in LA, any unbroken promises literally mean joy.
This perceived joy has actually helped the BN government t to sway our Iban thinking to vote for the BN candidate as in the last by election.
But why do the Ibans always continue t o vote the BN candidates that always employ sweetened promises to fish for votes?
B).Fail To Differentiate Between Plain Promises and Completed Projects
In spite of all empty promises from the Iban BN candidates, the Ibans still give them support for a number of reasons. The Iban voters in LA are no different from the rest of the Ibans in Sarawak. Mostly, we are not too concerned with the fundamental reason for voting a particular candidate. A high percentage would cast their vote favouring who would likely be providing with immediate gains. A big number of us would prefer immediate monetary rewards for individuals rather than looking at the whole picture in thorough perspective.
1. It is quite obvious to the public that the Ibans always fail to differentiate between promises and completed projects. Time and time again, the Ibans have been fooled by promises made by the Iban YBs. When they are desperate for the votes, sometimes they look like approving the mee segera projects on the spot, especially when visiting the longhouses.
2. The Ibans do not want changes even though the world outside their domain has changed so much. This is yet another reality with the Ibans. We are so scared of any changes affecting our life. We prefer to maintain the status quo even though it has conspicuous disadvantages. When asking the Ibans on whther they are ready to change the government of the day, we would not be surprised toclaim that Iban BN Ybs are doing just fine. Why must we change them if they are performing their duties like giving MRPs and officiating formal functions as VIPs? The Ibans would readily claim that this is the sort of progress they are looking for. And to them, this is a kind of progress. They forget to consider that MRPs are actually monies paid by the taxpayers. They fail to comprehend that the money is in fact not their as their role is only to determine its distribution back to the rakyat.
3. The current government is smart enough to persuade the undecided majority of the Ibans to vote for the BN candidates. The Ibans are mostly illiterate. We have very poor understanding of the world around us. At times, we do not know what is going on in our neighbourhood. The folks are eager to live our life uninterrupted by all the hustle and bustle of the city or town life. But politicians come around with their political ideology, the naïve Ibans would readily submit to it without even thinking about the long term implications that it would bring. The current Iban YBs are mostly aware of this Iban social loophole and would not be reluctant to employ it to ensure they are voting for the BN YBs.
4.The rhetoric of ANANG NGELABAN PERINTAH seems effective to do the same. This rhetoric is doing a world of good for the government as the Ibans are not that knowledgeable in political arena. So far, the Ibans have been generously kind to the government and shall remain so until Iban political mindset changes in tandem with political reality. It will also remain like this until all the Ibans realize that the government has indeed been unfair to us for the last 46 years. For now, the Ibans appear oblivious as to the solutions for their own problems. The impact of marginalization is rather insurmountable nowadays. The solution could only be found when all Ibans truly realize the real impact of deliberate marginalization. The only vehicle for change is probably through unity. When the Ibans fail to unite within the next 46 years, ones could foresee that the Ibans would be wiped out from all aspect of the government. The Ibans have remained fragmented and disunited since time immemorial. However, if there is an Iban Unity come together with is a drastic revolutionary change in the thinking in the way the Ibans see themselves, there could well be we see a light at the end of the tunnel.
5.The adat of the Ibans may contribute to our own backwardness. Mr Ling has once whispered to me that asking to convince the folks from a few longhouses to accept the PELASI MENOA so that his company could carry on with the project as per his PL. He said that his company needed to observe the Adat of the Ibans and then everything would be fine. He knew that if he managed to persuade them to accept the few RM as In the Adat, then it would be alright for his company to clear the forest for its timber. I was then flabbergasted. I drew a deep breath and thought for a while, cracking my head for thought in trying to turn down his suggestion. I disagreed. This was not for someone like me who will never want to see any PEMAKAI MENOA of the Ibans be systematically surrendered to the PL holders.
What this Oily Allau does is to remind the poor folks that he is good to the rakyat particularly, the people of LA. Well, just like any other Iban YBs, he is playing his role as Mr Yesman only. And this is more than enough to please his boss in ensuring continuous reign.

There is nothing to fear if PR is voted to run the Sarawak state. Just take the example from the 4 state that have been govern by the PR. If there is any snap election in any of the 4 state including Perak state, I believe that the rakyat will still vote them to govern the state. Because they care for the rakyat.
You may heard some problems in PR at this moment. This problems is cause by some ex-BN members that they are formerly well fed, they thought that PR will give them the same. I Believe that next GE this YB will be one of the rakyat.

Leo Moggie could fall into that category becos he had no (leadership) principle as party chief. He could NOT decide whether to take J Masing or Daniel Tajem as replacement while he enjoyed the federal minister post.
Daniel Tajem may deserve that monkey title too becos he was greedy- never let the young blood J Masing to lead the party, he didnt know his time was over, and he already became the DCM and should be happy already reached that high.
Dr. John Brian himself may not be the monkey but we could brand him as coward for not willing to take the challenge to face C. Ujang in the 1987 state election. So the only way we can share anything we know is trough internet.So I always told my parent when I back to my village, you can’t not believe all what the goverment told you in the paper or by the tv. The term Monkey was bestowed by Tunku Abdul Rahman and UMNO to the Dayaks of Borneo. And Monkey means Sakai, Kuno, Primitive, Illiterate, Bows and Arrows, that’s what Monkey means. Each time and Iban receives a Medal from a Malay Monkey, he is accepting his Monkey Status and reaffirming his Monkey Values. That is how the Iban Political Mind has been conditioned and driven by many generations of Brooke Paternalism, and now Malay Hegemony. That is why we are seen as easy meat for the Malayans.

In 1961, Tunku Abdul Rahman proclaimed Borneo should be part of Malaya. Not one person in Sarawak and British North Borneo objected. In 1963, the Sarawak Monkeys sold their independence for a Timber and Bank license, issued by a Malayan Chinese Bank and Authority. Ironically, these stupid monkeys didn’t realise that with Independence, they could have awarded themselves all sorts of licenses. They don’t need the Malayans to bestow that. In 1966, Stephen Kalong Ningkan was deposed by the assistance of SUPP, Parti Bumiputra and Pesaka. And a State of Emergency was declared by the Malayans. They sent their Soldiers and Police to Sarawak, and for 4 years, Sarawak was ruled directly by Kuala Lumpur.
Direct Rule is Direct Colonisation.
That is why the Malayans think the Ibans are Monkeys. We didn’t have the guts then to take the gun and fight them in 1961, we didn’t have the guts to fight them in 1963 and we didn’t have the guts to fight them in 1966.
What is the difference between a Malayan and an Indonesian????? None, Zero, no difference at all. These two countries wanted to colonise us, and one of them has successfully done it. Without having to waste any guns killing Dayaks, Malays or Sarawak Chinese.
When the Malayan says, orang sarawak masih tinggal atas pokok, he doesn’t say it out of ignorance, he means it. A free and self-respecting Tuai Rumah would have recognized his right to be given the allowance (and indeed should demand more) without any implied subservience to anybody.
Those of us, who still retain respect for the office of our elder native Dayak leadership, would rightly be disappointed at the manipulative statement by William Nyalau, which is also a veil threat to withdraw allowance of those TR who exhibit any desire to vote freely, according to their conscience.
William Nyalau, may have knowingly play the manipulation card – and exhibit his total disrespect for all Tuah Rumahs.
The again,what does one expect of a government, who would bulldoze Dayak longhouses, and would repeatedly appeal the right to do so in the courts of law !

Tuai Rumah may not too dependent to the government allowance. The families of the longhouse or his anembiaks can contribute by giving him some rewards as a Tuai Rumah. Maybe each pintu can give monthly allowance around RM5 – 10 each (or more). This might be advantage to Tuai Rumah whose longhouses more than 20 pintu or more. The longhouse community can decide how much they can contribute to Tuai Rumah. Say NO to government allowance bullied our Tuai Rumahs!!

Now, it seems we have reached a general consensus that the term MONKEY is indeed appropriate in describing some of group of Ibans in its society. When the term was initially coined by a fellow DB to describe the Ibans, quite a number of us are angered by it. At first, I was equally annoyed but after a while, I began to understand its meaning. No doubt, the term is a bit too harsh to describe fellow Ibans but we have to observe the reality.
This reality lies with our BN Iban YBs. Once voted into power, the Iban YBs are unilaterally claiming themselves to be the Iban leaders of the time. Everything that they do is free from any kind of fallacies. Whatever they decide is for the benefits of the rakyat. Every now and then, speeches are delivered in a manner that they are truly the most capable persons to speak up for the Ibans. The naïve folks are not only manipulated to believe in their words but nurtured to provide blind support to government even though what is being carried out is detrimental to the community itself. The deeply confused folks unfortunately are ever willing to submit to these persons. And this is a reality.
It is also observed that our BN Iban YBs are always silent in the Dewan. They have far less things to voice out compared to other YBs. So, once this happens, the people will naturally ask themselves on whether those Iban Ybs are performing their duties. The expectation from the folks is with them. They often hope that their particular YB would bring joy to them as they are their representatives. The Ibans want progressive development in their area. They have in their hearts some glimmer of hope for the YB is able to get rid of issues grappling their life. And this is yet another reality.
There are a few more realities we could think of. But we may not want to dwell in all of them as these two do justify that our BN Iban YBs could be rightly addressed as Iban Monkeys.
All these Iban monkeys must be replaced in this coming SE unless they do buckle up to speak up on what the Ibans want instead of their boss’s want.

This sort of statement indicates that some of us still do need political advice, especially in respect of the current poltical scenin Sarawak. Our lands have been systematically deforested. There will be no place for ANTU to roam. Hence, someone like Antu Kamba will soon die a natural death.
However, if this is what people like Antu Kamba plan to see being done to our community, then we better should think twice. Please lend our support to those who could possibly be discharging their duties taking into account the whole of Iban issues.
We have seen on numerous occassions whereby independent candidates successfully voted in, only to be jumpy into the BN fold. This is because they are going after their self interests rather than the colctive interests of the Ibans.
Therefore, persuading fellow Ibans to vote for an independent cannot be a wise move under any circumstances.
Change we must is beyong political change only. Every ct of Iban life must change as well.
Look!. We are NOWHERE!

These group of politicians are suffering from Dementia, a serious disorder among our community. If these politicians were not given proper prognosis and the right antidote, the consequences maybe irreparable to our society.
If indeed the TR are government servants,who are infact not, but politically called as such by the YB, why are the Tuai Rumah paid peanuts? Consider the followings:
1. Their allownace is so low that it is below the poverty rate in Sarawak which is about RM800.00.
2. They are not entitled to any government servants privileges llike housing loans, etc.
3. Why ar the TR not govern by any rules & procedures applicable to governemnt servants?
I think its time that we do way with expired government servants as our honorable representatives.

Tuai Rumah should rightly be impartial.
They deal with anakbiaks problems and must be seen as fair by all.What would happen if,TR is perceived as BN man and chided those anakbiaks who he labels as pro-opposition? Wouldn’t this invite more problems for themselves? Any taker?
One more, if someone thinks Dr.JBA is not doing good for Dayaks revolution,BN has another Dayak PHD in the from of Dr.JJ Masing.If one thinks that Dr. JBA is not his/her type of man, sure take Dr. JJ Masing as your man and do your parts.No problem!
I agree with those anembiak should play the main role to strengthen the Tuai Rumah institution. No harm the ALL Tuai Rumah support the government of the day.
BUT (big BUT) all anembiak must NOT support the current BN gov. So its not a big deal if only Tuai
Rumah Vote BN and all anembiak vote otherwise.
If this methodology practised all over Sarawak, BN and Nyalau Badak and team SURELY loss.
If party that rule the government change, we know what to do with this TR, whether the anembiak will retain them or not. Anembiak are now know what to do. If TR acted impartially, he/she will mostly be retained.
Next new government must leave it to the anembiak to choose their own Tuai Rumah. NOT by politician anymore.
