Island Mentality

It is nice to hear that Tan Sri Jabu would like to invite Anwar Ibrahim, Head of Opposition in Parliament and Pakatan Rakyat defecto leader to Betong to see for himself the development that the town has achieved. Betong is Jabu’s constituency and he has held the seat for about 30 over years and at the same time the Deputy Minister of Sarawak for about the same duration.

My thought were how myopic Jabu’s ways of thinking and it smack on almost how ” full of himself ” for trying to show off or naive to try to impress a progressive and international known personality as Anwar with Betong development. The reason IS simple: Betong is not even 10% of say Butterworth – the town nearest to Permatang Pauh, Anwar’s constituency.

It is rather disturbing for me if the Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister is thinking of Betong as bench mark for progress in Sarawak because it is not!

Some small comparison of Betong and another small town in Malaya – for example Nilai.

I choose Nilai because it was no bigger than Betong 30 years ago when I did a Retail Outlet survey 30 years ago with a multi-national company. I also know Betong about 30 years ago.

Jabu may consider quitting politics in the coming State election -

My intention here is NOT to put down Betong progress – but in response to Jabu idea of progress – which is basically the provision of government buildings and also the narrow income stream from which Betong depended upon. In the final analysis, Jabu need not be so arrogant to invite Anwar to see Sarawak “benchmark” because Sarawak is so laid back in economics, physical and mental progress.

Actually the next election should be the best time for Jabu to exit politics – that is if he has no personal agenda for holding on to the post he holds today.

Industrial activities:

What has Betong got to compare with Nilai’s- manufacturing activities, engineering workshop, wafer production, advance instrumentation factories, rubber finish products, pharmaceutical, air craft maintenance – and employ thousands of people of various skills and knowledge.

Educational Institution

Inti University College, Nilai University college, Stamford university College campuses, Private colleges, private vocational schools and MARA Skilled Training Centres

Health

Institute Cancer Malaysia, Hospitals both private and government own.

Roads

Highway 4 lane standards and minimum 2 lane is well tarred dual carriage highway

Agriculture

Well develop and productive rubber estates and Oil palm plantation

Hotels and Restaurants

Nilai have hotels and facilities that can support F1 teams, international spectators and press delegation

Government Building

I need not highlight the modern administrative department of Nilai but their Police Station is better then the Sarawak Police head Quarters, Moden and well equip Fire and Rescue Department etc.

Graveyard

Nilai Memoraial Park is is the best and biggets in the country.

Betong Constituency

It used to be the centre of power for Dayak politics with our first Chief Minister Tan Sri Stephen Kalong Ningkan representing Betong. Today, Betong is a Malay majority constituency – represnted by Jabu. Post Jabu, most likely Betong will be given to Malay thereby reducing Dayak seats and the further away the Dayak are from the Chief Minister post.

Jabu to retire from politics

Usually champions would retire when they are at the top. -eg boxing star. In the coming election it may not be far fetch to say that Jabu would be considering retiring from politics. Quality of life is very important and spending moments of reflection of what he has personally and politically achieved in the 30 years plus since joining politics after serving as an Agriculture Officer based in Miri in a by-election..

But then if Jabu has a personal agenda – to make more money and less on serving the people, he will then stay. For now, Betong voters are thoroughly condition to vote BN Jabu without fail in every election.

Dayakbaru – we are witnessing our Dayak leaders are making many irrelevant remarks and action. This will lead us lower into the area of leadership, effectiveness and direction. We must put a stop to this by internalizing our Change WE Must approach to improve the future of Dayaks in Sarawak.

May be Jabu has not been performing Iban rituals for quite long and probably he is going to do it for himself if Anwar comes.

Enti nuan ka nyadi pembangkang, betanding la dalam pilihanraya…then when you’re elected you buktikanla you can depend all Dayak comunity. DBS,

There comes another attempt by Jabu to crack a joke of himself, to reinforce his figure as a well known Sarawak political clown. A few monthe back, he despised DSAI. Today, he invited him to visit all the physical development that he has contibuted to his his birthplace of Betong.

Yes, actually Betong town itself has transformed its physical appearance. But from an Iban point of view, there is not much for us to cheer about. Jabu’s concept of development is not inclusive. fact, his policy is rather selective. Thereore, when the Ibans are found to have gone against him during th election, he would have no second thought to penalised them.

As a result, you just look at the livelihood of the Ibans within 10 minute drive or by boat radius from the town itself, you will see their absolute backwardness. They have been deprived of some modern facilities, lack of sanitation, clean water and electricity.

Hence, YDK, you will still manage to save the little dignity that remains if you could just retire from politics.

YDK, you are NOWHERE!.

Jabu is not relevant to dayak and sarawakian as a whole. He is a follower and not a leader. But hey…Anwar nya pan baka surat khabar lama.Amat iya pandai bejako but mark my word that his very own strenght , word and character will destroy him .He simply don`t have a moral charater to lead.

Dayak need their very own smart and dominance character baka Taib.

the real meaning of development in this century is GOOD LIVING STANDART & ACCESS TO LATEST TECNOLOGY & HIGH PURCHASING POWER. even Kuching is nothing donno why it has city status if peoples income n living standard very low….only the prices of goods is very damn high

Udah sida UK nguji kereta Proton sida enda nyadi meli laban below UK standard(tang lebih manah ari kereta ke dijual ba Malaysia tu empu).PETRONAS lalu diasuh meli kereta nya lalu EON/Proton nyual semua kereta nya ngagai rayat Malaysia, TANG AGI RUGI GA PROTON, believe it or not!

Udah nya Universiti Pertanian di Bintulu Srawak mega nyadi gajah putih/burak. Udah UPM badu ngena endor nya agi(takut ka mayuh org Sarawak pandai)Perintah enda nemu kati enggau endor nya. Sekeda rumah dijual ngagai orang luar lalu sida deka nutup penyalah diri ngaga ia nyadi MAKTAB SAINS BINTULU. Udah Maktab nya puindah ngagai Institut Tun Abd Razak di Kuching, sida ngasoh UPM datai baru. Duit udah angus berap juta!

I love Afraid Jabu because he is so cunning.Why not invite Annuar to Batang Balleh and Jabu as his escort,let see what Jabu has to say.Balleh is mainly Iban area so who want to build road for the Ibans. So let the Iban remain as they are.if road is built,the Iban will progress that is what ‘they’ do not want.It has been a few years since the Land and Survey Department ceases issuing land titles to the NCR owners.This has a far-reaching effects to our future live-hood, because
(1)setiap kali buah bebungai tauka bebuah kitai Iban belaya ke antara,laban kitai bentara ke munggo,lebak tauka sungai.Anti perintah bisi meri pala tanah, utai ke bakatu tetap enda nyadi.Ni orang ke beambu ke tanah tauka kebun pangan diri.

Nadai orang ngano jabu semina numpang belas kasihan ari sida laut nya , tang orang madah ke utai ti betul pasal iya. Uji enti iya enda numpang belasan kasihan ari sida laut, enda udah iya nyadi KM kitai dayak, nadai sida laut nya tak lebih-lebih.Kitai dayak patut idup enggau cara positive, diatu kitai dayak ukai dayak lama agi, tang dayak baru, laban kitai bisi pemandai, enda baka kitai suba. Sarawak tu menoa kitai dayak ukai enggi orang laut, ia ke patut, kitai dayak tu ti patut merintah sarawak laban menoa sarawak tu ia maioh, ia nya bansa dayak. Why only now he is generous enough to contribute thatpiece of land. What is he doing all these while?? I’m not impressed with this YB J*** ak penumpang.. koklir!

Under BN we can see lots of masjid everywhere, at the roadside… which cost millions to build.

Sadly, this SDNU building takes 3 decades for us to wait and to make it a reality. What is wrong with our Dayaks YB…maybe we dont do enough and did not perform to the expectation of our own community? Lungau, tatau, mapap, tambap!!

While Taib Mamut conquer the upper stair of the PBB palace,the melanus & malays YB living in a nice and big living room but Tan Sri Jabu menumpang tidur next to the toilet,hopeless,helpless,powerless.

Every night in his sleep Jabu is having a nightmare b’coz of this Antu Indu always asking for money.

Rumah2 kedai kosong cuma disewa utk jabatan kerajaan yang dipindahkan dari seratok. Kilang kepayang belum wujud lagi apa lagi kilang2 lain.
Penternakan ikan empurau kalau jadi pun tak sama dengan empurau original sungai dah tentu harga berbeza tu pun kalau ada yg nak beli.
