SPDP -PRS Merger – to strengthen BN Dayak

Written by Dr. John Brian Anthony

Dayakbaru:

This is an interesting turn of event as the “unseen hand” is working very hard to strengthen BN and hold on th power. This idea was mooted a few years ago but for some reason is was not moving forward. Now the unseen hand is forcing the issue.

Why is the 5SPDP members forcing the issues?

Taib realized that Opposition Dayak is gaining strength. Outwardly the BN Dayak dogs bark saying that PKR will not win any Dayak seat. I think Taib has better system to collect info and would not rely on the Dayak ball carriers in BN to tell him that  all is well. These 5 SPDP members has always been a PBB “mole” like in a secret service “doble agent”.

When the boss Taib felt that he needed his double agent to serve him, then the Uban will instruct them on what to do. There is no risk involved as Uban will not do anything to these 5 DUN members.

Is PRS ready?

Dr. James Masing is “personally” indepted to Taib ( berhutang budi). PRS is not ready but what can Masing do now. His PRS wil not be happy but UBan is famous for being insensitive to anyone except himself. Question will be raised by PRS members: remember BN members are always concerned about their personal position – will they be displace by this new comers. Will these new comers become more powerful ( as ministers) and that the PRS loyal supporter will be push to a lower level of the pecking rank in the party.

But then WHY is Mawan not able to control his men?

Mawan is not seen as a man who keep to his words. The “status quo” agreement at the last TGA was later changed with the Secretary General elevated to Vice President and an elected Vice President brought down to become Sec. Gen. Of course the former Sec Gen might have a personal agenda to remail as the Sec Gen as the position put him in a position of knowing eveything that goes on in the party.

Puppet -yes man

Then Mawan has been seen as a puppet to Dato Seri Tiong of Bintulu – the main actor in the PKFZ scandals. The merger did not happen earlier because Tion did not want it. The 5 SPDP members may not want to be part of Tiong as legal action may be preferred against Tiong in the near future. As long as Tiong is in SPDP, the corrupted UMNO will not be able to take action against him.

Dato Seri Tiong is PKFZ scandal main player - main financier of SPDP

But if Tiong is taken to court and the possibility is that he will be sent to “JAIL” then SPDP would die a natural death as it is common knowledge that Tiong is the main financier of the Party. A smart YB like Peter Nansien would like like to be caught in such a situation.

Is this merger good or bad for Dayak?

I see this a good – but double edges. This would be a 100% Dayak party and therefor would be able to champion the Dayak cause – that is if the YBs are commited to do so. It will mark the decline of Jabu as the key person who represent the Dayak views. After all Jabu has no views on dayak except for treating Dayak as fools.

The other angle is – when Dayak is in one basket, the effect of bring them down would be devastating. Maybe, they may never ever challenge to be the Chief minister of Sarawak ever again. The “mole” will still be active in PRS. The people like William Nyalau and mesir Kujat, the snowdon are all PBB mole. These mole can control PRS and make PRS a strong Dayak party but ineffective.

PKR

Those of the view that PKR is not going to win any Dayak seat can dream on to be at their comfort level. By the way, PKR is headed by Dayak from Sarawak  and the main potential PKRseat is from Dayak constituency.

Dayakbaru: continue on with making the change in yourself and make the Chenge WE Must happen.

Article from BERNAMA

A group of Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (Spdp) leaders want an immediate merger with Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) to consolidate rural-based constituencies in the state.

Spdp senior vice-president Datuk Peter Nansian said the move was to expedite the visions and objectives of both parties to strengthen Barisan Nasional (BN) in rural areas, especially at Dayak-held constituencies.

He said the proposed merger was agreed upon by the Spdp supreme council while the BN leadership at state-level also agreed (to the merger) in principle.

Nansian, who is also state assistant minister of environment, was speaking at a news conference at the Spdp headquarters in MJC Batu Kawa township here Saturday.

The group comprised state assistant minister of public utilities Sylvester Entri Muran, the Spdp merger committee secretary-general who was dropped as party secretary-general after the party election last December, and Spdp vice- president and Mas Gading Member of Parliament Datuk Dr Tiki Lafe.

The others are Batu Danau State Assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang (assistant information chief), Bekenu State Assemblyman Rosey Yunus (appointed vice-president), Meluan state assemblyman Wong Judat and supreme council members Eda Igar, George Garai and Peter Gani.

Nansian, the state assemblyman for Tasik Biru, said with the 1Malaysia concept, they wanted to answer the call of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to put the people, and not self-interest, first.

However, he said, from their feedback, PRS leadership was not keen to merge with Spdp due to some personalities in the latter’s current line-up.

He declined to say if it was linked to the recent internal crisis when some party members and leaders questioned party president Datuk Seri William Mawan’s prerogative to drop Entri from the secretary-general’s post and reneged on his earlier promise of maintaining the equilibrium of power in Spdp.

Asked if Mawan was informed of the group’s intention, Nansian said, he had given them the mandate to initiate the merger, five years ago.

    Federal Government Compatible With Sarawak

SARATOK- The high level of understanding between the federal and Sarawak governments has succeeded in further facilitating development in the state, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Monday.

The prime minister said that this understanding had enabled the federal government to focus on development issues faced by the people in Sarawak, unlike in several states in the peninsula where there was no focus.

“In the peninsula, there are states that are not in agreement with the federal government which are in chaos, unable to manage their own families and are quarrelling among themsleves,” he said when launching the Rural Electricity Project at the Juliana Bedus longhouse here.

Najib, who is on a two-day visit to the state, said the people of Sarawak would continue to benefit from the close cooperation between the federal and state governments, including large allocations for development of its rural sector.

The rural folk in Sarawak would get to witness massive changes in terms of infrastructural development through an alloction of RM3.4 billion under the National Key Result Area (NKRA) for the sector from this year until 2012, he added.

He gave an assurance that the structure of the communities in the state would be respected and taken into account in all development projects planned by the government.

“Sarawak is eligible for all the facilities because of the confidence of its people in us and it is our (government’s) duty to provide all these facilities,” he added.

Why call it “unseen hand”. We all know whose hands are behind controlling all the puppets. The puppets will not move an inch unless the puppet master make his moves. The puppets will only come alive and devour each other when the puppet master kick the bucket which all hope will be soon. Augustine Paul will have good company.

    All DB,

SPDP/PRS merger is a welcome news for DL.Needless to say its help strengthening Dayak unity. DB will not endorse or support such move coz DB see the merger as a threat to thier personal agenda esp. DJB, CI,KM,Gkm,IA,MT and others DB goons.

Inshort, DB are the last group who want to see Dayak united. For deep in thier harden heart any good BN policies will be twisted and turn to suit thier selfish needs at the exepnse of the Dayak community.

If merging of banks can make them finacially more stronger so it is a welcome move to see these two political parties merge as not to give room for PR to sell their false propaganda. For DB if you are sincere and eager to talk about unifying the Dayaks and like to see them emerge ever stronger this is the time you leave PR and join them.

Those of you in DB always expect the change that PR may bring but their own party members had left them as they see PR is so lousy when compare to BN. With the internal turmoil in PR now and decreasing popularity they will eventually evaporated. THere is no point to be in the political party that is not strong because it will not able to help you to achieve your political goal. When you want to talk about uplifting the Dayak community it has to come with big responsibility and fund. This is only possible through the Gomen and this Gomen is no other than the BN.
Go and slow talk to PRS/SPDP and tell them what you can do to help the Dayak community.

    Koklir and other BN goons,

I think DB support any sincere merger and/or true unity within Bansa Dayak but not interested to see any divide and rule policy and “bulldozer ngerampas” policy promoted by UMNO-BN-1Mensia crony/regime.

47 years BN-1Mensia good policies at the expense of ‘taxpayers’ and Sarawak natural resources as “Fixed Deposit”???

Did you not notice how liberal DB is in allowing you to produce ‘negative comment’ here in this blog. Why? Because DB believe in openness, liberty and tolerance.

We know it’s not easy to change a naive person like you who have been implanted by one way solution “BN ideology” – “parai enti nadai Perintah 1Mensia” laban enda nemu nupi diri; too dependable on 1Mensia and YDK.

SPDP/PRS merger is a slap on the face for DB. It literally strengthen Dayak BN and weaken Dayak opposition (DB included). Most significantly the merger execise is a move in the right direction to conslidate and unite Dayaks politicians.

If indeed DB is genuine in thier desire to see changes and unite the Dayaks this is the time.

My guts feeling tells me that DB will oppose such move due to thier “opposition mentality” which bring them to no where. So with this turn of event (merger of Dayak-base party) DB should now review or rethink its support for DSIA and PKR leaders.

The proposed merger will never take place soon as there are too many conflict of interest inside and outside both parties.

One very “imminent” question waiting for honest answers from both sides – who are willing to play as second fiddle?

It’s treacherous out there for both parties even if the were to merge as one entity. Politics is everyone’s business. So who willing to just let go just like that to any string attached?

Sarawak’s stability is so dependent on CM that any threat to his safety could destroy the regime and destabilize the entire state very quickly.

….agree with the PP. Go ahead Dayak Lama and the geng, say praise to the event until your heart full of content but to me as DB, non of you and both political parties worthy of my trust.

What is to praise in the merger or no merger, when the NCR land issues are not resolved. Malaya still bully Sarawak on the 18 points agreement….and many more so what??????? these are more important than the merger.

  16. gkm2020 on February 22nd, 2010 9:40 pm

    Honorable DB,

On what I see today the merger and/or the ‘kahwin-mengahwin’ among the so called Taib’s puppet Dayaks political parties are like ‘celebrity marriage’ these days but once they have enough they’ll cerai-mencerai….

I presume all 1Mensia Dayak political parties are remote wireless control by taimanok and his cronies behind the curtain.

Soon the PCM will promote “cinta” 1Mensia and in the end who will loose…the answer is the native – Dayaks still begging for mercy their native rights.

1Mensia ‘billions’ project(s) is not “Native Rights” and it has nothing to do with the native – Dayak but 1Mensia corporate takeover of Sarawak NCR Lands and rakyat resources. Big project funding – rakyat (taxpayers) pay the debts for life and many generation to come.

Well, I don’t trust all these 1Mensia political merger gimmicks which aim to divide and rule Dayaks further…trust me you see it when times come.

How can you trust them if their aim is to strengthen taimanok power, crony/nepotism capitalist elites and their ‘bulldozer ngerampas’ policy?

Nothing to be proud of and/or make me excited about it. The same old stories….and 1Mensia political campaign gimmicks.

    Agi Idup – Agi Ngelaban…Hooo….Haaa…!!!!

  17. Cikgu Iban on February 22nd, 2010 9:51 pm

Changop4 Digit, Dayaklama, koklir and others,

While the proposed merger of SPDP-PRS will be numerically strengthening and enlarging the Dayak based party, there is still doubt whether the enlarged party could play the expected roles more effectively. Dayak unity through a strong and solidly established political party is very sweet to the ears of many Dayak.

The doubt remains as DBs could see that the merger issue seems to gain momentum only after the recent event in the SPDP TGA. It was known to all Dayak in general and SPDP member in particular, that these merger efforts have been intensified by the sour grapes in the party. They look like having nowhere to go in so far as the party position is concerned. The internal crisis In SPDP is real even though senior party leaders will vehemently deny it.

Therefore, if the merger is done in the name of Dayak Unity, then with all sincerity, it ought to be supported. However, if it is done for the political survival of this disgruntled group of politicians, then the merger will not last long.

Deep down in my heart, this proposed merger is no more than celebrity marriages; it will not last long to form a happy family.

    Cheers…

I rather join MIP No.1 call to’kill all Dayaks’,as according to Joseph Entulu,Dayak is not relevant. An SPDP/PRS merger,is it SOOO RELEVANT? If it materialises, does it unite Dayaks? No,no…While DL and gang have the dangling carrots to go for, others have nothing to look forward to.Dayaks in SUPP,PCM,PBB and even some in UMNO, are splintering the Dayaks. So, who dares say Dayaks are united by SPDP/PRS merger?
First of all, what is/are the real agenda for this merger? Is it not triggered by 5 unhappy SPDP people?

For one,Mr. Ranum Mina, the rep for N1.Opar is not a happy man in SUPP.Why not he trigger a mass-defection as well to PRS,or PBB for that matter? To me, SUPP is a no-no when it comes to Dayak representation. But well,DL is happy to receive any perks from YDK no matter what happens to Dayak because he finds Dayaks as not relevant. He is more than willing to discard his Dayak identity just to have a share of the dangling carrot.DL couldn’t care less if Dayaks are used as subjects in the Ivan Pavlov experiment as long as he satisfy his lusts.

What merger and what strenght? To me, it is just putting puppets in one box!. Must you all forget, these BN YB’s have been in the ‘patronage politics’ for tooooo long. They don’t give a hoot about their own people or race. (no racist remark intented). For each one of them what matters most is, Me, I and myself!. Now putting all these puppets or clowns, whatever you wish to call them, will all be well and steady? Certainly not!. But I am very happy about this development. Why? Well, it creates a TIME BOMB for BN, that’s why. Me, I and myself, remember? We just wait and see. Anyway, don’t expect any Dayak unity from these clowns. If there is any Dayak Unity, I really pray that it will come under new Dayaks leaders from PR.

  21. Banting on February 23rd, 2010 7:26 am

As I can see it, there is a problem in SPDP. If the problem is not handling carefully, it may lead to serious party`s internal crisis. Hopefully, there will be no outside interference which can make things worst.

SPDP`s president Dato Seri William Mawan Ikom said, SPDP`s problem were manageable and could be resolved withing the confine of its four wall. Earlier, it was speculated that the party`s five elected representatives who walked out during the party TGA, were planning to defect to PRS. Yesterday, one of the group Datuk Peter Nansian said his group was not joining PRS en bloc, but will `merge earlier` with PRS and that their action should not be construed as jumping ship (frog politicians).

The proposed merger between SPDP and PRS was not discussed in the just concluded SPDP`s TGA, indicating that the party is not ready to merge with PRS yet. To me, it is not advisable for the group made its decision without the consent of party president Dato Seri William Mawan Ikom and the authorised merger standing committee headed by Datuk Peter Nyarok Entrie. If I were Dato Seri James Masing, a PRS president, I would advice the group to consult its party`s president first. This is to brush aside public perception that their ever good relationship is not rift.

Merging is a wise move and we hope for the best between the Dayak based parties. No more squabbles and hassles on leadership choice.

I would rather want them to be one political entity and switch support to the opposition front, so that the Sarawak BN will slowly disintegrates.

The Malayan domination in Malaysian politics will fade and slowly die a painful death….and Koklir will loose his pride and integrity.

Our strategist is still contemplating on the next move to create hiccups on the BN campaign.

Merger talk only comes before election just to give Dayaks FALSE HOPE regarding unity.Only the SPDP 5 + 3 who agreed but what about SPDP President, Dep. President and the Sec. Gen and many others ?

Wayang aja to confuse some innocent members. They could have merge long ago,but even if the had it could alter any advantage that could produce Dayak majority control ofd the State Government.

So merger is USELESS and MEANINGLESS in term of Dayak interests.

  29. Chakui Chabu on February 23rd, 2010 9:09 pm

In my opinion, SNAP, SPDP and PRS should amend their party constitution regarding its memberships. I suggest its membership should confine only to Dayaks. History tells us, SNAP, PBDS, PRS and now SPDP which memberships are multi-racial had internal crisis leading to the registration of PBDS and SNAP.

For instance, Parti Pesaka which memberships are all Dayaks headed by Jabu, is very peaceful and never has any internal crisis.

The above four parties are multi-racials but majority of their memberships are Dayaks, even their supreme councils are mostly Dayaks, but it seems that each party is monopoly by non-dayak. PRS is changing now.

With the much talk about merger of SPDP and PRS, where are they going to fit in this dog who have been scavenging on bread crumbs and knocking on the doors to join a Barisan Nasional base component party, to be another dog and traitor of the Dayak community.

SPDP/PRS merger is a slap on the face for DB
    …………………………………………

    Arah,

We would rather say that it is a slap on the face for MAwan Ikom, Peter Nyarok and DS Tuong K S.

For BB, we hope that he can make full advantage of people’s rejection of Nelson B.R to ensure victory in the coming SE. The possiibility to topple him in Bekelalan now is brighter.

    Cheers…

It is not slap for DBs.

  37. Jimhal Ahmat on February 24th, 2010 5:14 pm

    To PRS men…
Let me point to you that pRS-SPDP is not going to merge…sure 100%. Do you think JJM and WMI are ready to surrender their position as Presiden and Menteris. If they merge, i don’t think U-ban is will let them enjoy all thier ministers’ posts.! Gerenti tidak kawan, kawan. when 2 become one, it’ll be considered 1 komponen, not 2. Merge means trimming Dayak minister post, trimming Dayak YBs no.
Either way,if they dont merge, WMI’s SPDP sure will brake (bukan pecah ! ) Both parties have their own nightmare, macam menunggu telur di hujung tanduk. I m sure wat liri won’t be giving in or giving away easily !
    Fikir-fikirkan lah !

  38. Raja Merom on February 24th, 2010 10:16 pm

Good move JJM. This is a good opportunity to get rid of the undesirable element in both party. We wait for WMI to check-mate. It’s not game over yet. Remember politic is the art of possible, today enemy tommorow friend, end pia aya manang empangau?

  39. Raja Merom on February 24th, 2010 10:28 pm

    Olivia Chan,

Which stray doggie or udok kaka are you referring to? Maybe we could call the SSPCA to quarantine the doggie so that it will not disturb anybody. Else, aya manang empangau can train the doggie for hunting wild boar.

  40. engkerawai on February 25th, 2010 7:58 am

    RECAP,

    Kaban Madi ba DB,
Merging is a wise move and we hope for the best between the Dayak based parties.

  41. pengundi pintar on February 25th, 2010 10:13 am

Merging is only a wise move for the YB from this two party but not for the dayak as a whole.
There are hundred of thousand of Dayaks out there who is far more better than this stupid clown who we never give a chance to lead. While the rakyat busy fighting for theirs NCR land this two party busy talking about their merging.Taib will keep This Party belacan forever in BN.By that way it is easy for Taib to keep them in Line.
I will never give my vote to this Party Belacan.
    NEVER…as long as I live.

  42. engkerawai on February 25th, 2010 11:26 am

…we can recycle this belacan party if they jump ship to the opposition front. Enlighten the dayak based party like UMNO, MCA, MIC……not impossible, wait until we have our paramount chief replaced with honour and patriotism.

    AKAI..DAI !!

  43. pengundi pintar on February 25th, 2010 12:22 pm

Recycle this party belacan means we are waiting for the worst to come.
If we recycle old news papers it will become toilet paper and the place is in the toilet.

The new paper like A4 paper which is not yet recycle,The place is in the office which the engineer & the archtect use to draw a plan to make a better building.

Besi buruk become razor blade and they wiil cukur habis our resource until there nothing left for the next generation.

We must change this party belacan.
Stop this party belacan from being fooling around with us.

James Masing Boss party PRS,Jalai Raya menua kapit pan enda ulih gaga.

    PP,
    “Recycle the Belacan party” what I percieved to this statement is, the party need to rehabilitate and consolidate themselves to gain favour among rakyats. These belacan party can perform if they are managed by the dynamic leaders. So far our dayaks leader are far from reaching their target{KPI}

Leadership squabbles …persists and the rakyats[Dayaks] are confused.

Merge into one political entity…dismantle the BN Sarawak under the dictator with the like of Phillipines, Ferdinand Marcos…….Come the one and only SARAWAK DAYAK UNION CONGRESS.

  48. Manang Empangau on February 28th, 2010 7:03 pm

The dayak party has always been subject to divide and rule or rule and divide scenario ever since independence. At the end of the day, it’s only one race and one family that survive to this very day. Parai tawing, agi meh dia neh.

  49. kpt99 on March 1st, 2010 10:04 pm

The best solution for the Dayak issues and dilemma is all the Dayak leaders must come together and be united under one umbrella party like UMNO and take control of Sarawak. Are all the Dayaks leaders in PBB willing to take the challenge ? supid suggestion but it sounds sensible.

  50. Ugly msian on March 2nd, 2010 8:23 am

    kpt99,
I suggest you take MIP N#1 as your guru.Politics is the art of the possibility.Who says Melanau minority cannot control Sarawak? SPDP will be another history? ha ha
