WHAT DOUBLE STANDARD??

AG’s double standards in Al Islam case
FEB 26 — Christians and Catholics in particular are likely to have one major topic of discussion when they gather this weekend in churches throughout the country, and that is the decision of the authorities in taking no further action against two journalists from Al Islam who allegedly desecrated the Eucharist.
The Eucharist is a Christian sacrament considered to be a commemoration of the Last Supper, the final meal that Jesus Christ shared with his disciples before his arrest and eventual crucifixion.
Also called the Holy Communion, Catholics and many Christians perform this sacrament at every Mass or service.
They believe in transubstantiation, which means the bread and wine that they partake in during Holy Communion changes into the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
An understanding of what this means to Catholics and Christians should allow the authorities to understand why they were appalled at the actions of these two journalists from Al Islam magazine.
According to the article written by the two, they had sneaked into a Catholic church in Ipoh last year and participated in the Holy Communion, by pretending to be Catholics.
After Mass, the two claimed they spat out the bread, which is an act of desecration.
They claimed in their article that their spying was part of their mission to find out if Muslims were being secretly converted by the Catholic church.
Few Muslims are aware of this issue because the media has largely ignored the story. But among Catholics the issue had caused unease.
In the eyes of the Catholic church, the desecration of the communion is an act even worse than the recent firebombing of places of worship.
Now, the Attorney-General’s Chambers has told the police that no further action will be taken against the two journalists. They had been investigated under Section 298A (1) of the Penal Code for causing disharmony, disunity or feelings of enmity, hatred or ill will, or prejudicing the maintenance of harmony or unity, on grounds of religion.
Never before has the exhibition of double standards been so obvious.
The irony is this message of hypocrisy comes at a time when the Najib administration is asking for support from non-Muslims.

This is a real situation where I CAN DO WHAT I LIKE.
YOU CANNOT FOLLOW SUIT.Simply I AM ALWAYS SUPERIOR THAN YOU & I CAN DO WHAT I LIKE.
Is this the TRUE CONCEPT and APPLICATION of 1Malaysia ?????
Please do as Jesus did, forgive your enemy…
Kaban Bloggers,
Despite the global economic downturn Najib can still quizzed in RM RM3.4 billions into the state coffer to help poor Sarawakian….meaning, better belief that “BN is indeed God’s gift to mankind”
If this thing happen the other way round say, to the Islam will the ACC give the same answer to the police.
1.They have investigated under Section 298A(1) of the penal code for causing disharmony, to whom ?(there is a body that they cause disharmony with)
2.disunity with whom ?(there are people they cause disunity with .)
3.Hatred or ill will, with whom ?(there is someone that they cause the hatred )
4.Prejudicing the maintenance of harmony or unity,on the ground of Religion where? in Malaysia. cos disrespect for other religion.
and now they are to go free just like that ? what the ACC for? for the people and the country or for BN/UMNO. so they can do what they like right ? this is a big question mark ??????
Thats because umno dearly need sarawak support to remain in power, lets wait and see if umno regain support in peninsular in the next general election all the promise to the sarawakian will evaporate….
This is what 1MALAYSIA is all about.
Malay is the TUAN the others is slave.
The SULTAN is a malay.
The AGONG is a malay.
AND WHO BOW DOWN TO WHO?….Malay never bow down to your Tan Sri Jabu.
The slave don”t have the power to put his TUAN behind Bar?
KESETIAAN KEPADA RAJA…This is one of the rukun negara……WE ARE THE SLAVES…PLS DONT FORGET THAT.
Holy Sacrament is sacred for Christians. The acts of the two journalists were indeed violating the sanctity and holiness of the Church.
Supposing a Christian disguise as Muslim enters a mosque during Friday prayer and spit on their holy book? Can you imagine what will happen to the Christian?
If they lodge a police report to that effect and then the police close the case NFA (no further action), are Muslims happy with that? May be they will go to the streets to stage demonstrations nation wide.
Were the acts committed by the journalists indeed had no criminal elements as defined under Section 298A(1) OF The Penal Code?
Disgusting and insulting act by the Al-Islam journalist. These satans are trying invoke the sentiment of the Catholics and trying to ridicule others. God is great, he will deal with it approriately. The LAUTs will learn a hard lesson ….like what happened in ACEH !!!
I doubt if Islam had taught them to act as such on other religion or is it their Malay ego.
Maybe the Malays are worried that some of their race have slowly converted to non-Muslim bumiputra or non-bumiptura and with that they would lost their majority ethnic rights to rule this country?
However, please do not be scared and worried or disturbed my brothers and sisters in Christ; we should forgive them and let God judge them.
No one can hide in the eyes of the Almighty God.
Arah…..
Really you are Satan and Devil prowling the earth looking for victims. Different topic put in discussion, different topic you write.
What had that ” still quizzed in RM RM3.4 billions” if really it becomes reality, got to do with the “double standard” presented in the topic above. Only Satan and Devil does that as to confuse and deceive mankind.
You Devil and Satan, One day all the spirit of Dayak Aki, Enik and kaban belayan who had passed away will wreck you and your generation to come.
Hooooooo…..Haaaaaaaa!!!!!!
Merakat,
You may not in the know (due to your background) but Jesus himself was tempted by Satan, what more to say human being like you and me….
UMNO youth chief Khairy has supported A.G.`s decision. Dayak Christian ministers, what do you have to say on this issue? No guts!!!
This no double standard going in the country. Some cases and occasions we ought to have more or less. There must be some compromise and give and take in the multi racial society. We have discussed this issue not long ago where indians, malays, chinese cannot own shortguns, right on native lands and whatnot, pemakai menoa where it covered land so huge until rapas pandang ( as far as the eyes can see ). Are we going to repeat the same thing again and tell everyone we own more than them?
Ironically, I thank Dayaklama and DEO ( Dysfunctional Erectile Organ)for always being diversive and present comments here their way so that we Dayak Baru are always reminded of who BN PEOPLE REALLY ARE and the way they looks at Dayaks.
Tabi semua,
SOME SIGNS OF “DOUBLE STANDARD” IN BOLEHLAND:
Allah in the East – No Allah in the West
“Christians in Sarawak and Sabah need not worry over this issue because it is a common tradition there. I have been to an Iban church service and I heard the word ‘Allah’ used there,” said Nazri.
However, ‘Allah’ is not allowed to be used by churches in Semanunjung Malaysia and Christians from the two states have to respect this ruling when they are in Semenanjung, Nazri said.
Rahim Tamby Chik Protective Custody
on 28 February 1995, Mr. Lim Guan Eng was accused under Section 4 (1)(b) of the Sedition Act of prompting ” disaffection with the administration of justice in Malaysia ” for having stated that ” double standards ” were being applied by the Attorney General in a statutory rape case against the former Chief Minister of Malacca, Mr. Rahim Tamby Chik, because Attorney General Mohtar Abdulla had decided not to prosecute the latter, while the underage alleged victim, a fifteen-year-old Muslim schoolgirl, was placed in ” protective custody ” for ten days allegedly without parental consent….
Stop double standard in transport industry
Pan-Malaysia Lorry Owners’ Association (PMLOA) wants the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to stop practicing double standard in enforcing rules in the transport industry.
Double Standard Environmental Capitalists
Malaysia Government and Malaysian palm oil seeks market recognition for environmental efforts but has devastated NCR Lands to build 52 dams including the Bakun project is one of the largest privatized projects in Malaysia.
Native racial discrimination and NCR land marginalization
Rh. Nyawin, Rh. Nor and others bulldozed and demolished by Taib gov’t; Iban community devastated, seeks emergency assistance.
Cow head protestors & prosecution
Hisham defends cow-head protestors. Uthayakumar, a prominent Hindu activist, dismissed the argument as laughable.
“It is a lame excuse and completely unacceptable. They are clearly inciting the Hindus,” said Uthayakumar, who noted that the Muslim protesters had also warned of bloodshed if the temple was built there.
Critics argued that a double standard prevails in favor of the Malay-Muslim majority, despite the charges against the Muslim protestors.
They noted that all those charged were released on low bails of RM4,000.oo for the sedition charge and RM500.oo and RM300.oo bail for the unlawful assembly charge, and the Attorney-General’s Office did not oppose bail.
This was compared it to the 25th November 2007 case of Hindraf legal adviser P.Uthayakumar and 231 Hindraf peaceful assemblers.
In the 2007 case, the Attorney-General opposed bail for the same charges of sedition and unlawful assembly, and the Sessions Court imposed a bail of RM50,000.oo on Uthayakumar and his passport was ordered to be impounded….
Others
Is there “Double Standard” between Blogger and Politician?
The racial double standard between “Ketuanan Bumiputra” and ‘Non-Muslim Bumiputra”, and “Dayak 2nd Class Bumiputra”?
Tambah ka dia meh….
Dear All Friends,
God is great, fair and forgiving. We forgive the 2 unknowledeable muslim journalist for their humanly weaknesses.
We hope they and all of us learned something from this unfortunate incident.
Please seek the guidance and wisdom from God The Almighty during the coming state election (for Dewan Undangan Negeri) and next Parliamentary election as to who we should vote for.
Remember the Law Of Natural Justice. If you throw a white ball (meaning doing good deed to others) the white ball will bounce back to you. If you throw a black ball (meaning doing bad deed to others) the white ball will come back to you.
Amen.
Well people, what else can we say of this UMNO government of the day. What Bro GKM 2020 have said, is just a tip of the iceberg of the tyrannies commited. Make the CHANGE comes the next state election, please. BTW, you all will hear a deafenning silent from our Christian Dayaks Ministers/MP’s on this issue.
BTW DB, by responding to posting by Arah and to people ‘yang sama waktu dengan nya’ is only giving inflating his super ego. We can’t stop them, but we certainly CAN IGNORE THEM TOTALLY!. Non-existence….. know what I mean? Only then can we have a meaningful discussions and dialogues.
Bro gkm2020,
Between double standard and discrimination, which one is worse impact? How to categorise imbalance in the civil service? How about Lingam`s video case?
DayakLama or Dalai Lama?
Prejudice, double standard, discriminations are the evil practices by the unjust and corrupt governance.
We cant be 100% perfect but at least justice and freedom is the essence of peace and stability in any nation. Of course we dont want anarchy, riots to disrupt the peace loving people like us.
Consequently, we cant be oblivious of the current scenario that befalls the Dayaks. we shall rise and demand for the truth and justice…..our struggle will not end just in this forum only…..Let no evil lurks cos, we will stop them by any means….You bet it!….Dayak berfikiran Lama???
Malay cannot see what they have done wrong unto others. It is a very unique behavior- they only see themselves most of the time. The Malay see that OTHERS are doing wrong to them all the time.
If a Malay needed something – and he can’t, he will change the rule to allow him to get it. Even if he has not got the power to do so. If you reminded him of the wrong thing that he did then he says you are against him because he is a Muslim.
Malay insist that he is always right. You don’t believed me – just look at UMNO.
Kelantan is Muslim State – rule by Islamic Party and headed by a Muslim Malay. UMNO cannot see that. They insisted ti look at the LAW – to find legal way to put the “wang eshan” into the rakyat hand. What UMNO meant is, they are looking for UMNO associate organization and individual to pass the Wang eshan to so that they can have back the money into their personal pocket.
UMNO is very caring to UMNO Malay in that way. Do you trust UMNO to lead BN now. You can have a choice of Opposition now – so just do it.
Unggal Iban Pantu and others,
My personal view:
Double Standards Vs Discrimination
The definition of double standard is interpreted by me rather simply. You have one set of rules to adhere to, but those same rules do not apply to me. The reason being is that we’re special people.
Somewhere in history, I feel quite sure, that our ethnic group was enslaved (by colonial and ketuanan); humiliated, marginalized, sidelined or used in a type of way that I must be compensated for.
Even though this was prior to me even being a concept I will hold every other race in today’s society responsible for the past and the present.
Double standards and discrimination all come down to each individual taking responsibility for their own actions. I am referring to the people who are actually living now.
Ego and extremism promote and provoke double standard that leads to racial discrimination, corruption and ‘iron-fist’ of dictatorial-ship!
There is not an action that can be taken to change what occurred in the past, but we can be responsible for the actions that are yet to be foreseen. That’s Change. Change brings a turning point of our choice(s).
The choices that we make today affect our future. However, one must be able to have the capabilities and capacities to make decisions.
Racism against non-Muslim bumiputra, non-Muslims and/or non-bumiputra seems to be the most prevalent in the media and our political scenario today. Only because certain leaders in the Dayak community today apparently enjoy keeping things stirred up; together with their ‘Tuan’ and/or ‘YDK’.
They will twist and turn every comment made or deed done to be racist. I am personally tired of it and I presume you too.
There are too many Dayak leaders that are making a difference to change racism to be road blocked by the likes of those who merely want to be in the limelight or cash in. They are not focusing on the positive changes that are continuously developing.
Take a look at our educational system, civil service, economic participation, politics of bulldozer/belasah, economy of land and timber, humanitarian programs and other welfare systems. If you listen and watch the media you will notice that ‘mugshots’ of minorities far out weigh those of other backgrounds.
The poorer sides of town, ‘rumah setinggan’ and the ‘ulu’ are usually filled with minorities. If you listen to some they will advise you it is because they have been held down by the “Ketuanan” (Melayu Raya).
Umno is “Ketuanan Melayu Raya” and “Ketuanan Rakyat”! “Anang Ngelaban Perintah….laban BN aja ulih nulong kita….” Ngerampas? Ngeruboh?…and so on…
We are actually ‘Bangsa Malaysian’ of different colors of cultures. We’re all colorful peoples of multi-racial, multi-ethnics, multi-cultures, multi-languages and multi-religions.
The white, red, green, brown, black or blue man did not make the minorities’ rape, murder, steal or go on welfare. Penan,Iban, Bidayuh and other natives are human too!!!
Bansa Dayaks are not workforce that needs to be welfare? Umno-BN probably forgot to mirror themselves and they can only see others; that also mean “my way” and “one way street”….
It was the lack of being taught the skills and talents needed to make better choices in life. It is an endless cycle that will never end if all of us do not choose to make a difference.
Example (globalworld scenario):
Have you ever realized that the drug dealers that are destroying our society and the whole world are rather smart?
They had to have developed a business plan in the beginning. They had a product to market and sell. A target market was developed and then the production and distribution was set in place. In the criminal world it was calculated to be extremely profitable so the start up funding was never an issue.
Educate and build our kid capacities and capabilities
Give a young kid the opportunity to make thousands and never have to leave the projects. Why would they ever consider working hard in the realworld. Everything start small and with the young but with persistence.
But stop and imagine what potential these young people have; if they had only been given enough knowledge and skill to make the right choices.
Change must start within each and every one of us. If we can’t change our ownself then how would expect to change others? Change begins within us and at home.
Conclusion
Double Standard promote discrimination, racial discrimination, prejudice, bias, extremism, inequality, disharmony and political instability of a nation.
To the leaders who think that they are helping Change racism I have one final thing to say.
There cannot be one set of rules for your race to follow and different guidelines for the rest of us. We must all be reading from the same page.
CHANGE WE MUST – Cheers!
Agi Idup – Agi Ngelaban….Hooo….Haaa….!!!
Dr. John Brian!
UMNO is very caring to UMNO Malay in that way. Do you trust UMNO to lead BN now. You can have a choice of Opposition now – so just do it.
………………………………………….
Betul cerita P.Ramlee di tusi di! Its not the question of trusting BN per se….for the past 47 years majority of Malaysian voters would think so.
Correct!!! we can have choice but unfortunately DB is kind of forcing/enticing voters to follow thier choice….no need to talk so much state election is coming pretty soon. You just want the voters to just do it (chose the oppostion?)…quite an uphill task I am afraid.Even before we had the choice of opposition but voter chose to ignore.Bloggers in here can think rationally unlike those in the longhouses who can be easily manipulated.
Arah….
Now I have nothing against you as you are on the topic. However, I am of differnt opinion with you, simply because you and your BN goons had not resolved the issues which are created by BN gomen.
Dataklama, Deo, Arah….Focus on the issues:
Why there is a contnous “double Standard”?
Why there is connuous shortages of teachers in Sarawak until thousand of teachers coming from Malaya? What happen to Sarawak Education system for the last 47 years??????When can Sarawak have enough teachers?????? What year??????
When can Malaya want to adhere to 18/20 points agreement and many more.
These issues are REALl? Can you deny that Mr Arah? The very statement ” still quizzed in RM RM3.4 billions” statement ” shall and will never resolve these issues. There is no solid plan and target date.
To Deo, your very statment admiited that you are in deed the Devil and Satan who prowl Sarawak to tempt the Dayaks. Do you want to be the agent of the devil? The agent of deveil will always be cursed to be eaten by the same devil he work with. So Deo…slowly and certainly this same devil will eat you up….an old adage of Dayak’s belief which is always true.
So DB watch out for the Devil who come in the form of DEO….Change we must and don’t stop raising the issues until something is done…
gkm2020, Dr JBA, ES and the rest of DB let all say….Hooooooo….Haaaaaaaaa!!!!! change we can.
Dear Dr. John B A. I do not share your generalization of a Malay in your posting above. Lets be clear that it is the Umnoputras that believes that they more Malay than the rest of the Malays. As far as Sarawak is concern, our Malay brothers and sisters are not the problem for the sad affair of our state.(Yes, you did not implied or says that they are). I just want all of us here to be on the right perspective of things.
We can learn from the stance and the action of UmnoPutras torwards their fellow Malays in Semenanjung. That is why we should not stoop at their level in our effort to make changes happen in our own state. We certainly are better than that.
Mr Arah, Deo, & Dayaklama…say whatever u want, bark like dogs if u need to for they dont mean anything to me…heheheh..what matters to me is that my vote will not go to BN this coming election. Now…who’s with me?
Mr Sanuh, anang ninggal ka aku unggal.
Aku sigi enda ngundi bansa ngemula, BN maya GE tu….orang Bansa Ngemula sigi enda alah tunda…hehehehe…..
Hoooooo….haaaaaa….!!!!!!!change we will!
Amat endar nya Dr JBA. All people cannot see their own teeth directly eventhough the mouths are deformed. The malays are the only people who love to see others’ teeth, forgetting to look in the mirror to check if their teeth are kuning baka gigi nyumboh, enda kala beberus gigi. I hope, the Malay once in a while look at their mirrors before the comment on others.
Pama endar meh laut selam dua iku nya neh, tau tak deka nyepi dagin Tuhan Jesus. Kati ka nunda pengawa kitai ke baka kanibalism seduai nya kini? Anang kitai balat muchau ke seduai nya. Kapa meh seduai enda nyepi dagin Tuhan nya. Diludah seduai roti nya, enda meh ngawa. Seduai aja ke nyepi nemu diri ke kelalu jai akal enggau urang bukai.
Double Standard implies two set of rules being applied to determine the final decisons.
In so far as the Dayak Ibans are concerned, there are NUMEROUS STANDARDS used to take advantage of our Iban ignorance.
At times, the Ibans have been made to suffer because of the fifth, sixth or ninth standard being applied on us, the Ibans.
In other words, there are many standards to be used to judge the Ibans.
Cheers…
The Catholic Church should be more forgiving. The journalists are just doubting Thomases. They tried to put their finger in Jesus’ wounded hands. To those who are not of the Catholic Faith, the bread and wine remain just bread and wine. You must have the eyes of faith for you to see the transubstantiation.
The Malaysian Church should learn humility. It must learn to turn the other cheek. By demanding a pound of flesh from our Muslim brothers who did not have the sense to just ask us what we are all about, we are persecuting them already. If I recall the Church teaches that “let him who has no sin throw the first stone”. The Church is being proud when she demanded the Muslim magazine to apologize. God had mercy on us when we did not deserve it, why can’t they likewise dispense mercy even if no apology has been given.
I think it was wise for the government not to prosecute the Muslims anymore. it would just escalate the tensions. The Christian Churches should let it go.
Forgive, yes. Forget, NEVER!
Enjoy reading this, thank you:)
