Jaku Menteri Dayak/Iban:
“Dayak can’t have individual land titles, because they will sell the land.”
Other races continue to accumulate landed properties, Dayaks remain poverty. The Dayak land cannot be used for any purpose other than subsistent farming.
Clearly the people who like to see Dayaks in poverty are the Dayak Ministers themselves. I don’t blame (ministers from) other races. This sort of news bring cheers to Dayak Ministers; their intention to keep Dayak poor has been achieved.
The scheme to help Dayak in JV has brought legal cases, discontentments and even hatred. Such is the work of our Dayak Ministers. What further proof do we need?

Tajem’s message to the Ibans
Posted by Kit in Sarawak on Friday, 7 May 2010, 12:09 pm
The Broken Shield
SERIAN: An adviser to PKR and former deputy chief minister Datuk Daniel Tajem (pic below)warns the Iban community that they will lose their native customary rights lands if they continue to elect the State Barisan Nasional coalition in the coming State election.
“Many Ibans in other parts of Sarawak have already lost their lands and we will continue to loose our land, if the State Barisan continues to govern Sarawak.
“In Balai Ringin we are about to lose our lands, when four companies linked to Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud have been given provisional lease (PL) to plant oil palm in our lands.
“A total of 741,000 hectares of our NCR lands have been earmarked for this purpose,” he said, adding that the land owners had protested, but to no avail.
In fact, he said, he and the land owners have written to UMNO to intervene and stop the State government from taking away people’s lands.

Nyukat tanah, it’s seemed that only land near the town & land for gomen projects are surveyed & given L.Title. That really means Land Survey are not going to survey our ulu land. With that, it is clear Ulu People are all Landless, kaban.
Why, why…..? Is it because of free Gomen Logging activities or Ybs Kebun Sabun, kebun getah, kebun kepayang plantations? Where, as it is now Ulu peoples get nothing…!!!
Common L & Survey Dep. we only want L.Title for our pepper garden, kebun getah, our temuda, pulau mali, pulau galau & Rumah Panjai. Dayaklama WHAT SAY YOU?
Any way, kaban comes over to SIBAU now and have a look where all BIG MAN are around with their goodies. Longhouse peoples are all bussy entertain strangers with GOODIES or BRIBE for VOTES.

When will Malaysians, especially the non-malays come to their senses and stop believing the UMNO racist politicians in whatever they say, especially on trying to change and all that jazz?
Never in a million years will those UMNO racist malays ever change – they are a disgrace to their own race and a sorry case for a human being.
Transparency, integrity, dignity?……….give me a break, the UMNO racist morons don’t even know how to spell the words, let alone understand what they mean.
For Royal Professor Ungku Aziz to say that there was no social contract between the founding fathers of our nation, this has put a nail in the coffin on those ultra-malays who still see Ketuanan Melayu as a cornerstone for race relationships in this country.
While other matured and well-developed nations have put to rest the ‘master and slave’ relationship among the various races, it baffles the mind of thinking people why should such policy still remain relevant in this 21st century here in Malaysia. We might call our British colonial masters ‘Sir’ or ‘Tuan’ in the early days but after half-a-century of independence, don’t you think that such thinking is out of date?
Malay rights have been ensconced in the federal constitution and cannot be taken away unless by a two-thirds majority in parliament subject to the malay rulers approval. No one doubts that in the early days, the bumis especially the malays, needed affirmative actions to take them out of their cycle of poverty to be on par with other races, especially the Chinese.
But the NEP has outlived it purpose and it should be replaced with a new policy which will eradicate poverty regardless of creed and race.
The playing field should be more even and let the best among the best compete among themselves in order for our nation to progress in the future. Why should rich malays with their ‘right political connections’ obtain a big slice of the economic cake while the poor people are denied such opportunities to get them out of their cycle of poverty?
To be a respected race, the malays must discard the notion that the government will always have to provide them with opportunities in studies and business as if it was their birth right. The malays should be able to compete with the other races on an equal footing and work hard to improve their lot rather than expecting handouts from the government.
Ungku Aziz, a towering malay whose intellectual thinking is way ahead of his time, has opened a Pandora Box’s with his outright statement that there is no written ‘social contract’ among the various races prior to independence. Umno politicians will now cry foul about his daring statement as they will always use the Ketuanan Melayu bogey to win the hearts and minds of the malays to support their cause. .
But the malays cannot be in a denial mode anymore. We must accept the fact that in the brave new world that we live in where people and capital move to places where no restrictions are imposed, the old way of doing business by having quota systems will drive capital away from our country and the people will suffer in the end if business opportunities pass our shores.
The malays should look at their Singapore brethren who are no less the worse although unlike their Malaysian cousins, they does not have any NEP policy to get a leg up in society. There is no short cut for success unless you work hard for it.
Then let me re-quote Lee Kuan Yew:
Singaporean politician Lee Kuan Yew of the PAP, who publicly questioned the need for Article 153 in parliament, and called for a “Malaysian Malaysia”.
In a speech, Lee Kuan Yew bemoaned what would later be described as the Malaysia social contract:
“According to history, malays began to migrate to Malaysia in noticeable numbers only about 700 years ago. Of the 39% malays in Malaysia today, about one-third are comparatively new immigrants like the secretary-general of Umno, Dato Syed Jaafar, who came to Malaya from Indonesia just before the war at the age of more than thirty. Therefore it is wrong and illogical for a particular racial group to think that they are more justified to be called Malaysians and that the others can become Malaysians only through their favour.”
Eventually, and Singapore became an independent nation in 1965, with Lee Kuan Yew as its first prime minister.
Who wants to stay home and serve here where meritocracy gives way to racial preference? I am a two-time graduate in University Malaya (masters and bachelors degree) and I used to hope that my children could enter a local university someday.
But with sliding university ranking and invisible barriers to keep non-malay students away, I have changed my mind. If I have the opportunity and money avails itself, I will send my children to overseas universities and ask them to emigrate there. We can rot and die here, but not the children.
This brain drain is not a problem to Umno at all. In fact, Umno is happy to see more and more of our talents leaving. Their power base will then be more secure.
All this started with Dr Mahathir. He believed that a half competent malay was better than a fully competent non-malay to serve the nation. This is clearly reflected in the progressive exclusion of non-malays from teaching profession academia, public service and other areas in the public sector as well GLCs since the early 1980s.
During Dr Mahathir’s ethnic cleansing of the Malaysia public service, thousands of qualified non-malays left the country for Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, etc. Such departure was view positively by Dr Mahathir – it meant that there were more positions available for malays. That short-term thinking has had dire consequences.
During the regional economic boom of 1990s, Malaysia prospered. There was plenty of money. Incompetence and corruption did not matter – a failure could always be rectified through bailout; high costs (e.g. Proton) could always be neutralised through subsidies (for export) or higher prices (for local consumption).
The scenario today is different. Competition is stiff. Newcomers such as Vietnam are breathing down our neck. Giants (India and China) have awakened and are marching unimpeded.
Malaysia needs to exploit all its resources to meet the global challenge. Ignoring 40% of its most valuable resource (e.g. human capital – Indians, Chinese and East Malaysians) is no way to meet the challenge.
Najib needs to put in place a policy for exploiting the most valuable resource Malaysia has – its people, including the Indians, Chinese and others. Otherwise, this resource will move away to the competitors of Malaysia.
If deployed properly, the talents will be a source of competitive advantage. If not deployed appropriately, the talents will become a source of relative competitive disadvantage for Malaysia when they end up in other countries.
Majority of the non-malays work in multinational companies. With the rate our government and GLCs pissing off these MNCs! These MNCs are moving out of Malaysia.
Get real! Why majority of the non-malays don’t work inside GLCs? What do you think they would do when these MNCs are gone? Work in GLCs or emigrate outside Malaysia?
Some of my friends are always skeptical of Singapore.
Of course, Singapore intention is to protect their own interests (isn’t what a government is for) – talented people are very mobile nowadays. Singapore also encounters brain drain to the West (US, EU, Australia), so they need new talents to come in.
They prefer Malaysians, as there are cultural ties – easy to adapt to the environment (multiracialism, language, weather, etc), like their Mr Everest climbers.
But they also welcome white mans, Thais, Indians, and Hong Kong Chinese too etc. Just take a MRT ride or go to the housing estate – you see many foreigners (not the illegal immigrant type).
We have our own national interests and should protect it, but we have more outflow of talent than inflow. Just see how we treat the economist who had a different method of calculating the bumi ratio of the economy – how to attract talent?
Some of my Malaysian friends have been offered citizenship and a few have accepted……….so those talents not going back to Malaysia.
Singapore is following US policy, US still attracted the best brains from all over the world regardless of color, check out the composition of employment in term of nationality in Silicon Valley and Nasa, you will know why it succeed, America is land of immigrants.
Umno policy is that if Umno cannot have it no other Malaysian should have it. Umno prefers a Mat Salleh (because that is a temporary situation) to have it rather than any other non-Umno Malaysian to have it.
I have been advising my relatives and friends for a long time since years ago – to encourage their children to apply for a Singapore scholarship to attend a university in Singapore even it that means she/he has to serve Singapore for 10 years.
At least, that will provide him for the future. So what is 10 years! He is free to utilise his talent as he pleases after that 10 years. I have 3 nephews who got Singapore scholarships, then served the Singapore government and are now working and being successful in Hong Kong and America.
They are heads of multinational companies. They will never be allowed to succeed in Malaysia because there is identification of race with jobs. All jobs even slightly connected with the Umno government must have malay employees. That is the new NEP.
Dear Malaysians, I don’t understand why the brains should not leave this country. The malays are definitely feel threaten by these brains, so we rather let them leave the country.
Malaysia pays peanuts and racially biased! That is why! Simple as that! Go to England, Australia and even the US hospitals and take a count of how many Malaysian born doctors are there, good doctors, man!
I traveled the world over and have lived in UK, Australia and the US. I have talked and met to these doctors. They not being unpatriotic, it is the Malaysia that is not doing the right thing!
I think Singapore should attack Malaysia and expand its territory to southern Johor. All the Indians and Chinese should migrate to southern Johor, and together with Singapore, forms a new Singapore.
Ex-Malaysians in exiles like myself will support this feasible plan. I am sure millions of overseas and mainland Chinese and Indians are excited about my suggestion.
When all the Muslim brothers from Uganda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nigeria, Indonesia etc etc, become bumis and enjoy the handout from NEP, there will be the day when the malays realize that they are being marginalize by its own Umno policy.
You can start counting the increasing numbers of Mamak in politics!
In Malaysia, we Malaysian Chinese just need to compete with fellow Malaysians only (where mostly lazy people). Easy to become rich – as we are governed by stupid and lazy people.
We can easily own several houses, luxury condos, own a bungalow at good location, as own and drive luxury cars in Malaysia.
In Singapore, not so easy, we have to compete with Singapore Chinese, Hong Kong Chinese, China Chinese and Taiwan Chinese. Not easy to become rich as Singapore government too smart.
Malaysia will continue to lose its talents not only to Singapore, and other countries but the Umno malays don’t give a damn. Their thinking is so long as the malays benefit, the country can go to the pigs and dogs.
They hold the entrenched view that it is better for Malaysia to be another Zimbabwe or Nepal if being in the ranks of Singapore and Japan means malays losing out to the others.
Lim Keng Yaik said that Singapore was a small country, so it was easily to govern. In fact, it is not so. Because of its size, it lacks most of the factors of production that we learn in economics.
Land is scarce, and its domestic market is small. However, it recognises that what it has is its labours. No wonder that it is wooing all the brains from Malaysia, since Malaysia does not appreciate them.
Instead, Malaysia seems to be attracting the top criminals as shown by the sharp increase in crime rate. Malaysia with its oil, tin, rubber, oil palm etc, will forever not be able to beat a small country like Singapore because of its incompetent leaders and their cronies who are only interested in their own pockets.
Before the NEP, UM was one of the top universities in the world. After the NEP, it has become trash because it rejects the best minds. The only pro of NEP is if you are in Umno or a friend of theirs.
All the Singaporeans I have met were very nice to me and treat me like one of theirs. We are the same people and I am always in favour of reunification with Singapore.
It is a sad story for both Sabah and Sarawak for joining Malaysia. Just look at Brunei and Singapore to see the answer.
Sabah and Sarawak is being raped by Malaya till dry, all the oil and timber from the two states is being used to finance all the failed projects and also to feed all the Umno zealots.
Ask the Iban and Kandazan, they are being marginalized. Now the government even want to make the country into an Islamic state, did Sabah and Sarawak agree to join an Islamic state in the first place?
September 16 is a day for mourning, a day of shame for Malaysia.
aku setuju enggau buah penemu sida PWP,PRPR and iban tulin. Kitai iban mesti belabuh ari diatu minta serta ngiga jalai bakani ka bulih geran tanah. DB,
SDNU is the perfect platform for us to fight Dayak Right beside Dayak political leader. To look another alternative is not a easy job and not the answer.
Even a hardcore Dayak Think-Thank in DB group are in array to form organization dealing with the Dayak Right Prevention. I am not let down our DB group but this is reality rather I am challanges DB members.
I have been suggested to form formal meeting and organize DB association like to highlight the Dayak problem. Tuai rumah has been invited every DB members for the meeting. I myself wish to sponsor some part of the game. But nobody from DB come up.
I expected the situation in DB blog here is still unchange. Talk but not walk.
On this situation I am not in favor to form another platform till I can see the seriousness of the members. I prefer to pursued SDNU more vocal and more daring to fight the Dayak Right and Dayak problem.
Change We Must
If BN win, Taib will be free to roam and smile becoz the natives are bound to lose their NCR lands for another term of tyranny and dictatorship.
He is going to conquer the Dayaks through his land grab policy……another wave of land grabbing policy in the guise of helping the rakyat.
It looks like the situation is uncontrollable with that evil policy of colonization.
Dismantle BN, wipe them out, exile them!@!$$$$$$
Datuk Tajem can lead the way in our struggle.
VOTE THEM NO MORE!!!! ROTTEN EGGS ON YOUR FACE!!!
DB…..we just don’t know where are heading to.
Dayaklama had done great job to work this out……..
Look like Sarawak and Dayak are being cursed…our “Tuai” gave us the 18/20 points agreement, we gave it to Malaya for free.
Our aki and ini gave us land….our dayaklama group using their skill to convince the dayak to give it to towkay besai….so at the end…what????? let’s all jadi apai saloi…nginti ikan ba sungai sarawak.
Nya aja kaban.
All,
DL bloggers are lying low in this blog after we found out from PKR leadership that the party had decided on Bernard Bayang ( and not Dr. JBA) as its candidate for Kemena in the forthcoming state election.

DL,
Please try to comprehend this writeup by SAN.
It is the truth of the policies propagated by UMNO.
Cheers…
Bala Kaban.
Bangun-bangun Iban/dayak, jangan senitasa JADI PAK TURUT.
Mupok kaban. Idup Iban Idup Dayak. OOhhaa….
Dear SAN,

2. Dr Mahathir‘s ethnic cleansing.
All this started with Dr Mahathir. He believed that a half competent Malay was better than fully competent non-Malay to serve the nation.
Proton) could always be neutralized through subsidies (for export) or higher prices (for local consumption).
3. Our Neighbouring Countries have awakened.
4. The UMNO Malays in GLCs and the Non-Malays in MNCs.
The majority of the non-Malays work in multinational companies.
We have our own national interests and should protect them but we have more outflow of talent than inflow. Just see how we treat the economist who had a different method of calculating the bumi ratio of the economy – how to attract talent?
5. Talented Malaysians offered citizenship of other countries.
Some of my Malaysian friends have been offered citizenship and a few have accepted……….so those talents not going back to Malaysia. Singapore is following US policy, US still attracted the best brains from all over the world regardless of color, check out the composition of employment in term of nationality in Silicon Valley and NASA, you will know why it succeeds, America is land of immigrants.
He is free to utilize his talent as he pleases after those 10 years. I have 3 nephews who got Singapore scholarships, then served the Singapore government and are now working and being successful in Hong Kong and America.
6. The Non-Malay Malaysians are heads of MNCs.
Ex-Malaysians in exiles like me will support this feasible plan. I am sure millions of overseas and mainland Chinese and Indians are excited about my suggestion.
7. Muslims originate from other countries could benefit from the NEP.
When all the Muslim brothers from Uganda, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nigeria, Indonesia etc, become bumis and enjoy the handout from NEP, there will be the day when the Malays realize that they are being marginalized by its own Umno policy. You can start counting the increasing numbers of Mamak in politics!
In Malaysia, we Malaysian Chinese just need to compete with fellow Malaysians only (where mostly lazy people). It is so easy to become rich – as we are governed by stupid and lazy people.
8. Malaysia attracts criminals but losing out on productive talents.
Malaysia will continue to lose its talents not only to Singapore, and other countries but the Umno Malays don’t give a damn. Their thinking is so long as the Malays benefit, the country can go to the pigs and dogs.
They hold the entrenched view that it is better for Malaysia to be another Zimbabwe or Nepal if being in the ranks of Singapore and Japan means Malay losing out to the others. Lim Keng Yaik said that Singapore was a small country, so it was easily to govern. In fact, it is not so. Because of its size, it lacks most of the factors of production that we learn in economics. Land is scarce, and its domestic market is small. However, it recognizes that what it has is its labours. No wonder that it is wooing all the brains from Malaysia, since Malaysia does not appreciate them. Instead, Malaysia seems to be attracting the top criminals as shown by the sharp increase in crime rate.
9. Malaysia led by Incompetent UMNO leaders.
Cheers…”
Sorry all bloggers…a bit deviating from the topic.
My brother/friend MT
I see that you have the similar thinking on the 18/20 points agreements.
If you don’t mind, can you write an e-mail to me so that we can discuss further on the topic of 18/20 points agreement. Our brother gkm2020 know my e-mail.
Sorry…nya aja kaban.
When is umno going to stop lying to the people of Malaysia. 47 years and how many times have they promised development in Sarawak. Why after 47 years nothing is being done and now in a by election umno gives another promise that the Government had big plans to transform the state into a developed one. If umno is sincere, Sarawak would have been developed by now and need not have to wait for another 10 years.
Sibu voters, are you going to keep on voting umno who will not keep their promises but keep on sucking the State resources dry through their proxy in CM Taib?
Sarawak Sibu P212 By Election – Hard Talk 4
You cannot be wrong by voting PR/DAP but if you allow umno to remain in power there cannot be any bright future for Malaysia.
PR/DAP is not 100% perfect but is surely 100% better than umno. BN exist in name only, all the component parties including SUPP are just umno’s puppets without any power.

Kaban DB,
Peda aku maioh agi bala setuju enggau penemu Dr. John. Lalu atur meh association nya awak ka jampat agi ulih nulong mutar ka penanggul kitai Dayak…kelebih agi pasal nyukat tanah.
DB,
I would like to see your seriousness on the new job for DB; association to monitor Dayak Right + Dayak Problem + Dayak NCR Land + Dayak Discrimination + 18/20 Points as proposed.
Instead to say the word SETUJU it is better for all of those who are SETUJU to say I will be a President, V. President, Secretary, Treasury, Sponsorship, members and so on. Choose one of them and display in this blog then come to the meeting. Then the think can be happen.
If not the other people will see how improper the DB is organized. I do not like anybody say SETUJU but when come to do the job nobody come up and let Dr. John only go on with the burden. I hope DB can imagine and see how pitty is Dr. John in this situation.
I presume that all the DB believers are well educated and well established Dayak. By then the improper organization should not be happen again and again.
We have enough proposal and many say SETUJU but nobody come out with what I said above.
I am not blaming anybody or disagree with any DB proposal rather I want the members be more firm with what we said and more flexible to what we can do.
At the moment I expect not much we can do.
Even a simple thing like collecting the signature from members to protest anything we dislike from gomen is hard to do.
I said this cos I always monitor the Dayak Signature in the protest set-up by international body on Dayak Right especially Dayak NCR Land last year.
Nobody wants to put their signature and name, mostly of the signature I found are non-Dayak. This is I call “No Walk only Talk”.
I do not want DB members SETUJU with what I said above rather I want you to challenge me to participate in DB activity physically active.
Change We Must.
